Bandit

Bandit

I started to ride a 24 year old pony almost 2 year's ago to get him in shape for the lessons that were soon to come. So i was only appose to be riding him for 2 weeks , well those 2 weeks passed quick. But then the owner of the barn asked me if i wanted to lease him , but i didn't have the money. So i had to clean tack every time i rode him. Let's tell you about this pony shall we....His name is bandit , he was 24 at the time , he could hardly extend or canter. He did something called the Tranter(mix of cantering and trotting)But it's been a year and 3/4 , and he can extend to the extreme , and canter right. As well as doing western, English, poles and some gaming no and again. He is standing at 13.2h and is a chestnut with a blaze and three white socks. Let's show a picture now!

Adorable Seven

I loved horses since I was born! I started riding at 7 and I still do now! My parents tell me I was born to ride! I love horses cuz they are so cute and if even some times you don't entirely trust them they will fully trust you! This is Seven. She is not my horse but I ride often. She is called that way cuz she has a big 7 on her forehead. Seven is my absolute favorite horse! She so gentle that you have to pull as lightly as possible on the reins if you want her to turn. Otherwise,if you pull to hard, she'll just turn around! I just love horses no matter what you say about them!

The Story Of WildFire

by Zoey
(Arizona)

Wild Fire

Wild Fire

I have always wanted a horse since I was little. But my dad lived in the city and my mom lived in horse property but could barely afford a decent car. So I decided we could board it. When i put it on my birthday list, my dad told me he wants to have it at out house, not board it. "Wait a few years. Then we will see. You never know, you could grow out of horses." He said. I didn't believe him. A few years?! Yeah sure.
Over the 07-08 school year's summer, my mom and i went to a feed store to buy horse pellets for my pat rats. I had found a hors eonline, i really wanted, a blue roan appaloosa colt. 2 years old and is greenbroke. I was gonna ask my dad for him.
In the feed store, my mom got to talking about horses to a lady who worked there. She told us, she was giving away a horse. My mom didn't ask me yes or no. She took it. My dad didn't want him though. But we got him anyways. And I still have him.
He is a red dun arabian cross gelding who is 3 years of age. His name was Winston Churchill, but i renamed him Wild Fire.
about a year ago, he was rescue from a slaughter house, and I am glad he was. I just don't get why anyone would send a horse to slaughter.. It's cruel. Anyways, but there was only one problem with him, he had NO HORSEY MANNERS. He bit, he pushed, he scratched, he pawed. Anything. So we had a friend of ours train him.
Now WildFire, still nips, (not me, mostly people he doesn't know) you can ride him, he just doesn't trot well, because no one has taken the time to train him well. But he is a loving companion, and I plan to spend the rest of his life with him. I will NOT ever let him go.

The picture is old, his mane has filled out a bit more, and he was dirty when i took that.

I'm Soooo horsecrazy!!!

I used to live in the city, so I never really saw horses a lot, But when we moved to the country, I saw horses every where!!! When I first saw horses,I just fell in love with them!!!! I started to take riding lessons, but when my riding instructor moved, and offered me a horse named Dixie, a one-eyed Arabian (pure-bred),I remembered my life savings that I never knew what I was saving up for. I got dizzy as my mom drove up. I asked her if I could have Dixie and she said yes!!!!! When we got Dixie, she was scrawny and ugly. A few weeks and some grain fixed that and now she loves me to death now!!!

P.S She loves peppermints!

Summer: 100% horse-crazy

by Summer
(PMB South Africa)

Hi everyone
My name is Summer and I'm 14 (although I tend to act like ten a lot of the time). I LOVE horses. The reason why I'm so horse-crazy is not unique. I grew up with horses and started riding (properly) at three. For five years I lived on the farm with horses, riding every day and not really realizing how lucky I was. Only when we moved to a town, I felt what it was like to live with out horses. Leaving them behind was really hard and it took a while for me to get used to town life. As much as I would like to, I don't own a horse as yet and I don't go for riding lessons, but I do ride a lot.My dad's friend owns two horses but he doesn't have much time to spend with them so I exercise them for him. Their names are Dynamite and Blaze and I love them loads. I think they are wonderful- in fact I think all horse are wonderful. Aren't horses just the loveliest creatures on earth?
Please comment- SUMMER

I have loved horses for as long as I can remember. The first time I ever rode a horse was on a trail ride with the owner of the stable, my mom, dad and brother. The next time was at a stable at a girl scout camp with my troop. Ever since I rode for he first time I have been trying to get my mom and dad to but me a horse. Now we are looking at riding lessons. (I rode for the first time about 5-6 years ago)

Sydney, I hope you see this. 1, you need a contact us page, 2, I think a writing contest (or RIDING contest, lol) would be awesome!!

Note from Sydney: Thanks for the idea, I'll tell my mom about it. As for our contact page, you can find it under the Parents tab on our homepage. :-)

my horse Tinker bell

my horse Tinker bell

HAVE FUN!!!!!!
im Cheyenne i love to ride horses and ive been riding for 6 years I am horse crazy because the first time I saw a horse I fell in love in an instant. My friend introduced it to me. I mean who wouldn't fall in love with a horse?! I have a horse and shes perfect she the best thing that ever happened to me. I have a room that is full of horse toy statues, posters, and lots more! I have books,DS and computer games. well i love all animals so i have everything animal. My horse is Tinker bell and she will jump anything you will put in front of her she is the best but the one thing i don't like about her is that shes allergic to hay and can only eat grass. But she is very good. I ride her every Thursdays Friday and Sunday. and when i want to i can i always have her to go to when im sad and happy or whenever shes like my best friend and no one can take that away from her i would be devastated if i had to sell her. i would cry my eyes out i have a such good connection with her. The Barn i go to is named Mystical Stables its a really good hunter jumper w\t\c barn. I have my own barn at my house its about 20 ft long with about 17 horse stalls in it. i have a lot of horses. Uhmmm i love horses so much i just cant stand enough of them. on the scale on 1-10 it would probably be 10,000,000,000.(heeeeehe haaaaaha)

My pony lifestyle

by Brin
(Canada)

My name is Brin and I started riding when I was six. I had to stop when I was eight because my coach retired. She now owns my towns only horse store. I took a break from riding and decided I needed horses in my life again. So last year I started riding again.

During that time I have borrowed two horses and now I have my own. His name is Cole and he is an appaloosa X thoroughbred. He is my life. He is boarded because we don't live in the country but...

MY FAMILY IS LOOKING FOR A FARM! :)

I'm so excited. When we get a farm my sister is going to get a barrel racing horse and I'm going to get a miniature pony that can pull carts. We might even start cattle ranching.

I do two riding lessons a week and I am a member of the David Thompson pony club. I am currently working on jumping three feet with Cole. Me and my horse crazy bff have an instagram account called redandblueteam. We go on trail rides together all the time.

That is what makes me horsecrazy.

The Horse's Land

by Julianna
(Pittsburgh, PA, USA)

I love horses, ponies, zebras, quaggas (early stage of horses,) and Eohippuses (even earlier stage of horses) because they're just so darn useful and cute.

My heart melts when I see a horse grazing in a field. And it's also great that they can be ridden for pleasure and they can be used for cargo. Did you know that before cars, people used horses? Cool, right?

If it hadn't been for horses, women would never had had the right to vote. Want proof? Read RIDING FREEDOM! You'll love it.

If you have a horse and you're a shower, the only reason you might be rich is because you earn money from showing. And that's pretty much the horse's idea, isn't it?

I also love horses for their looks. They are just so cute! Soft manes, soft hair, fuzzy muzzle... all of these things are just... you know...

Now you know why I love horses!

I am horsecrazy because I have been horse-back riding since I was 1-3 years old.

I like horses because they are: cool; playful; active; helpful; beautiful. They need lots of care so they become healthy and stay healthy.

I do not have a horse, but me and horsesrock 13 (she has an account, but I can not remember her tittle right now) want a horse bad.

horsedreamer!

by Mhairi
(Cumbernauld)

When i was 3 or 4 i saw a movie called Spirit and when i went on holiday i saw a horse first for the very first time and i rode her. It was wonderful, from that day on i begged my parents if i could go to lessons and i did. After i went for a year they shut down so i don't go to horse riding lessons any more. Now that i don't go to lessons i don't go riding at any stables but i got a horse and now someone takes care of her when i'm at school, and at the weekends i go and ride her down in the woods. And i became horsecrazy because i started riding and i thought that horses are the best animals in the world!!

My horses Ginger, Roo, April, and Cody

by Amanda
(frankfort, Kentuckey)

My baby cody

My baby cody

Im TOTALLY horsecrazy because of my four horses: Ginger, Roo, April, and My Cody Boy. They are my best friends! Let me tell you about them...
The puppy dog: Ginger is an amazing horse. She will do almost anything for me. She is my closest friend out of the four. She follows me around like a puppy hence the nickname {lol}! She is all-around the sweetest horse I've had. Ginger is a line-back chestnut with a glowing personality.
The headstrong one: Roo is an awesome horse, but hasn't met my standards in her training. She is coming along nicely though. We got her out of a sale ring so she isn't completely broke yet. She is a red bay roan who's got her own ideas about life.

The odd one out: April is a great horse but she has some tricks up her sleeve. I am absolutely sticking with this little mare! She's clever and can become childish at times. April; my liver chestnut angel.

The speed-demon: Cody is an amazingly gentle stallion. The first time I laid eyes on him I was in love! He has been my guy for years now (and I think my boyfriend's getting jealous)! He is a five year old who's got his mind made up! Like most arabians, Cody thinks he knows everything there is to know about anything and that's what I love about him. He's a great companion in the hills and in the arena! He's a black babe who would be any horselover's dream horse!

Shiloh The Prince of Horses

by Linda
(Greeneville, TN, USA )

I grew up with American Saddlebred Horses a long time ago. Then the real world kicked in and I went to college, graduate school and work. There was little time or money for horses, but I did attend horse shows and photographed wild horses and ponies. But still I had no horse of my own.

After many years, I ran into some extra money and time. I immediately set about to find the horse of my dreams. After some looking around, I began to think maybe I just remembered horses better than they actually were. Then, just as I was about to give up, there he was...my prince of horses!

So I brought him. His name was Shiloh and he was a Quarter Horse/Paint Cross (by looking at his ears and neck, I would also say a touch of Saddlebred was in there, too). Being a fan of Beautiful Jim Key and having grown up admiring Trigger, I set about to trick training Shiloh.

In the less than two years I have been training him, Shiloh has learned to kiss, give a hug, sidepass and back at liberty, say "yes", say "no", march, fetch, play basketball and horseshoes, get his rope, give his halter, dance, untie a knot, play a horn, discriminate colors, count, add, subtract, multiply, divide, raise numbers by powers, find square and cube roots, spell his name and messages, and read commands.

Think I'm crazy? Visit my prince of horses at Shiloh, The Educated Horse on Facebook at:

I got a horse! Yay!

by Brittany
(Manitowoc WI)

I just got a horse! Her name is Shawnee! She is a grade pinto mare. She is really sweet and we are bringing her home (hopefully) Sunday after we get back from the dells. She is the sweetest thing and has some attitude, but not a deadhead. She has things she likes and things that she doesn't like. Just like me!

She is a really fast learner! And is so smart. The first time she saw a hay-bag, she took off and was bucking and kicking! She was really funny. Then she calmed down and figured it out and ate from it as though she had always eaten out of a hay-bag.

She settled in at my trainer's place like she has been there before! I can't say enough nice things about her! She is sweet and adorable. She is a real lover! She loves to be petted.

This is what my cousin tanner made up........

Sweet
happy/hopeful
awesome
wonderful
nice
easy going
elegant

All those things really describes her! I can't wait to bring her home! I really cant! I hope to shoe her in fair next summer! She might be ready and might not. I am hopefully going to work with her over the summer.

That's it for now! If you have any tips about owning a horse (first time) let me know!

Yes or no and please some great advice!<3

Hi, I need some advice as if to yes or no.

My parents decided that we need to move to Utah but I have wanted a horse so much my entire life that its sad. Every time I get back on a horse I have hope but every time I am away from them so long I start to lose hope that I ever get a pony or horse.

So yes or no do you think I will get one in Utah? I don't know because my parents have been putting it off for so long that it is heartbreaking to me.

Thanks for listening.

Me and Maury at a CHESSIE show. This show was not at AMIT

I Absolutly am in love with horses. I think it all started with my mom's love for horses. She rode for 26 years! So far I've been riding for 4 1/2 years.

My name is Caitlin. I am 11 years old and live in Maryland. I ride at A Moment In Time twice a week. My lessons are 1 hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The two ponies I ride are Sampson and Maury. I used to ride a very cute pony named moses, who also had a lot of personality. Moses is like my Best Friend!

I started riding at a neighbors. Then I took lessons at Fredom Rein Farm, then moved to Holly Point Equestrian Center. My lessons started to get boring so I started riding at Cecil Creek Farm, then a horse started trampling people, so I left. Now I ride at A Moment In Time and I don't think I'll be leaving!

AMIT also has many opertunities, like shows, hunterpaces, clinics, etc.

My Awesome Horse, Kit Kat!

Gorgeous Horse Close Up

Gorgeous Horse Close Up

I ride a GORGEOUS mare named Kit Kat! She is a buckskin POA mare. Oh, and she is also pregnant! Hooray for Kit Kat! Oh, and whenever i say Kit, i mean Kit Kat!
Okay so once, i was at a horse camp at the stables i ride at. We were practicing Showmanship and i was with Kit. Our instructor was explaining what to do in the next pattern when all of the sudden, every thing turned purple and green and black! Soon, i couldn't see ANYTHING! When i opened my eyes next, i was laying on the ground with everyone hunched over me, including Kit. Kit grabbed my shirt and pulled me up with her teeth! Everyone was asking me questions and shining lights in my eyes. It was really scary! But Kit was right beside me through it all. She was the one who helped me up, and whinnied to let the others know i had fallen. Now whenever i see Kit, i call her, "My Savior" because she has saved me through many hard times and she has always been there for me! I love you Kit!!
I usually go out on the weekends and muck out stalls and stuff. The worst part is lifting hay bales. they're SO heavy! But i LOVE driving the gator! :)
When i go out to the stables on the weekends, i usually get lucky and i get to ride Kit. We go bareback through the fields and stuff. it's really fun!

Well, I used to not like horses, then I was scared of them, and THEN I went to this Pony Club (Trinity Riding Academy). IT WAS AMAZING! I have overcome my fear of horses. I met Zack, the sweetest pony on Earth! He's really bouncy, and was pretty scary to ride the first time (this was the first time I had ever gone on a horse fully in control. We went on an outride), but it was SO FUN! anyway, I love horses now! I wish I could have one like Zack. . .

I'm not very fond of his name, though. He's a dappled grey (actually, he has no grey at all, he's got brown dapples), and the perfect size for a pony!

From the Beginning: My amazing horse!

by Glenna
(Georgia)

I first rode Dream Dust, that's my horse, when I was two and a half. I was in love... and it seemed like Dreamy, that's her nickname, loved me too!

From that day on, August 27, 2001, Dreamy and I were the best of friends. I would turn down birthday parties to ride her! Everyday I would brush her and ride her. When it rained, I would sit in the barn with her, and sketch her (now remember, I'm two or three here so those drawings are no good). She always seemed like she was modelling for me!

One day, June 13, 2007, she and I entered our first riding contest... and won first place! I wore her blue ribbon on my shirt for a week. I didn't care that some kids were making fun of me. I was SO proud of her, on her FIRST contest, too!

Then, on June 21, 2008, I got a call from Mama. She was calling me at school about Dreamy. She was a mother! She had been pregnant a while and I had wanted to see Creamy, that's her name, be born but I was so excited anyways that I ran all the way home... early! All the way home I was thinking 'What am I going to name her?' Her full name is actually Cream Pop. Her mother is white but she looks kind of off white so, Cream Pop, I thought, was very appropriate. Now, she's 13 and 4 months old (in human years) and growing. She's so beautiful and I just adore both of my creamy, dreamy, horses!

A year, then the BIG day

by Andie
(Aitkin Mn )

I've wanted a horse/pony/donkey (anything equine!!) for a year, I've ALWAYS wanted one, I just wanted one even more, my parents decided to wait a while, to see if I REALLY wanted one. Well, I did, and the deal was, I had to work on our farm, (we have a turkey farm :) kinda odd, but yet, so is our family!!) help with my sister Rachel, (she has a disability kinda like autism, called Rett syndrome, it's only in girls, she can't talk, and we're lucky she can walk) and help build the fence, well I didn't want to do that, but then i thought, if I really want something, gonna have to work for it. So I did.

We finished the fence last weekend, and I've had my charlie for a week to the day, we don't know what breed be is, we think he is most likely part welsh, part something. He's a bay with a black mane and tail, and is 17 years old. Rachel enjoys him very much, my (very VERY strange) cat "Louie" doesn't seem to like him, but sleeps on his saddle pad :)

Ive been riding bareback, and had my spills ready, but, like Ronnie Dunn says, "Cowgirls don't cry!" :) and that's my horse-crazy story :) thanks for reading!

What horse I want to be! What horse I want to be i don't know! Perhaps I'd be a dressage horse, so I could put on a show!

What horse I want to be I can't tell! Perhaps I'd be a feisty pony, and be as trouble as HELL!

What horse I want to be I can't think! Perhaps I'd be a shetland pony, so I could fit in the kitchen sink!

Or perhaps be a cart horse, carting trough the night! Or be a stallion, so I could put up a fight!

I don't know what horse I want to be! But for now I just want to be......ME!

Totally Horse Crazy

by Yasemin
(Canada)

Reasons why I'm horse crazy!

I have 2 horses.

I spend every weekend and after school at the stable.

My room is full of horse posters and breyers. I also have horse jewelry, and bed spread.

I draw and paint horses.

I have horse games, video games and movies.

All my stuff at school is about horses.

My horses' names are (real ones) Shinia and Charm. Shinia is a liver chestnut thoroughbred and Charm is a liver chestnut thoroughbred Belgian mix. I love liver chestnut and I know they look the same but they are different.

I got Shinia for my birthday and Charm for Christmas. I was so happy to get both of them, its like i live at the stable!

I used to be super scared of horses when I was 6 years old. My grandma finally ushered me up on a horse and I was totally freaked!! It was fine until the horse got spooked. She went into a canter and went crazy!! I went flying off her back and landed against the fence. Boy you should've seen my back! LOL! After that, I just went to hating them to loving them! You don't have to be born with loving horses to be horse crazy I guess! LOL!

Loving Horses

by Makayla
(Sunman,Ind.)

I am horse crazy because I live with horses. It feels like heaven when your riding them. They can get a little rude hear and there but soon you'll be able to communicate. Its so true!!!!!!!! But to me there the best animals in the world. And I tell you one thing for a fact some of those fake robot horses will never on this very Earth replace the love of real horses. Whoever thinks they will they might be right but they will never see the future like all of us do.And if you really love horses you'll understand what I am saying. So please never ever try to replace your beloved horse. Otherwise some how I don't know how but somehow you will pay.

You know when your training to ride a horse it's really hard. And sometimes you blame it on the horse you know it might be them but you just can't blame them when you do it. Just believe in your horse might be a few mistakes but soon I promise you if you never give up you will someday ride a horse like the professionals. But think of the horse before you use the whip.

A passion for horses :)

by Cammy

Randy

Randy

Why I love horses? There are many answers to this question but mainly I just seem to have this magnetic pull towards them. There large appearance, soft touch and power to make us change for the better makes horses special. Most people would say riding is the best part but I love every second of it! From the time I bring them from the field to mounting and finally letting them lope off with their friends again four (or more) hours later. Now, this is not to say I don't love riding of course!I just love to ride and walk in to walls as I day dream about the swift movement of the canter. But, why do we ride? Is it the adrenaline you get when your sailing over a jump or that breath taking moment of the gallop when all four feet leave the ground or the pride you feel when you finally get the leg yield right? In my opinion it that one feeling you get when you and your horse just connect and you can feel it. It when that light bulb goes off in there head as if to say "oh! I get it!" I can't explain feeling of just pure happiness when you and your horse. . . just get it! Its like many unexplainable things in riding. Things even the best instructors can't teach you. You just have to experience it! Take a bond for example.Your friends, parents, and siblings will look at your like your crazy when you fantasize about one horse. They are annoyed when that's all you can talk about and when the ask you "so whats the big deal about this horse?" Millions of feelings will rush through you but you are left with no words. You can look up definition after definition of a bond but nothing can quite describe it. "Its just plain love" is my best answer. When little things happen like a step towards your in the paddock or a soft nicker send butterflies swirling in your stomach. You love them and they really do love you to! Its the best thing and I repeat that sentence to my self time after time. Horse can open whole new world and show you a new perspective of life.

I lease a horse named Randy, Horse back riding was just another sport of mine and I didn't like my schooling stable so we started to lease. I started to get more and more interested in the sport. Suddenly Randys owner just left him and he was standing right in the middle of no mans land. I started to care for him and buy him feed. Over the summer we grew very close but my mom was no where near buying me a horse. The owner of the stable was getting agitated and was near selling him. Thats when my instructor stepped in and saved him, well, us. In the end the owner of the stable bought him and it seemed as if all had been resolved. But it is far from that. His little grand daughter started to ride him. She is some one you could call cruel in my book. One day a new leaser was looking into randy she sat on the gate and pouted because she wanted to ride. Once the leaser was done she tacked him ride back up and started to canter him around and around the arena. Now I am 100% positive she was on the wrong lead. This is just one of the many horrible things she does to my baby Randy! I can't rest a night! I ask is there any thing more I can do to help but it just doesn't seem like enough! If you have and advice I would gladly take it! But, the main question is, why am I horse crazy? Here's the answer, Randy.

How I Got My Horse Midnight

I started riding Midnight when I was six. He's a black stallion. I took lessons, but I was getting bored riding the same horses. So one day, I looked out to the pasture, and there was a black stallion looking straight at me!

I asked if I could ride him, and my horse trainer said yes. I enjoyed him so much, that next time I went to school I told everyone I owned a horse! Well, my mom found out and told my horse trainer. My horse trainer told her she would talk to me.

So the next time I came for a lesson, and rode Midnight, she told me I could have him! I was so excited! I really did have a horse! He was the horse that I rode every week.

My parents were paying the board, but soon they couldn't afford it. My horse trainer said it was fine, and let us keep Midnight there for free! And that's how I got Midnight, and I still love him!

The life of me onto why I love horses

by michellekitty123
(North America)

This is my horse Moondance

This is my horse Moondance

When I was only seven years old I went to my dad's country in Europe and there was this place where you can ride on horses for free there, and I went there with my dad. And guess what? I screamed saying that I wanted a horse!

And well to be honest, my dad said that it is a big responsibility and that they cost much so I started to cry. And then I saw this beautiful horse there that I adored so I went towards it and I started to say that I would take the horse no matter what and the owner said since my dad could not afford it I could visit any time.

I wanted it and I got so happy. I gave the horse a name and her name is "Moondance" and she is like 2 and 1/2 years old now. To tell you the truth, she is the only one I have ever mostly have talked to and she always likes taking me too the mountains where there are more horses that are wild. We always see them running towards us and we get to play with their babies and they are like "adorable".

But now me and Moondance have been hanging out a lot so we have so much fun together, and I have a picture of her that I will post.

My love for horses just keeps growing

by Madi
(USA)

I haven't really grown up around horses but started loving them around 1st grade my best friend got me hooked on them then now and then I'd ride at a zoo or camp, or some other place. After a while I started working with my aunt learning the ways of western riding. I rode my aunt's beautiful dapple grey gelding Tiny who since then has passed away.

I learned to trot and canter, to gallop and walk on him. He was a great horse. I was sad after he died then met the horse I would be riding next. She is a beautiful 4yr old bay horse with a star. Her name is Key. Key is a nosy horse that i have yet to ride but still love when I go out there I enjoy helping feed and exercise the 3 horses she has.

They are Key, Coherra, and Pixie. I hope to start taking lessons soon and want to buy a horse named Hank who is a palomino with a stripe from a local equestrian center, but living in the city makes everything harder so I now my dream of having Hank won't come true. This so far is my horse crazy life and my love for horses just keeps growing.

(ill)

I started to take interest in horses when i was about nine. I thought they were so cool!

When I was ten,we found out about a place near my house that offered riding lessons. We decided to give it a shot and I loved it.I was at that place for a couple of months then I went and tried a different place that offered riding lessons.

The new place I took lessons at was cool at first but then I started riding a horse named sunny. He tried to throw me off (more than once in a lesson)and i got scared and only rode him once more before I found Bonnie and Pizzaz. These were two horses at the same barn that I loved from the moment i saw them. I rotated riding them from week to week and i was so happy. Sadly they were both put to sleep when I was eleven so i went back to the first place I rode at and am there to this day.

I have always wanted a horse of my own but for now I have the school horses at my barn. I am doing a camp this summer that will show me what it takes to own a horse. Hopefully, it will give me an idea of the responsibility a horse owner has then I can get my own horse. For now like I said, I have the school horses and my insructor lets me get my horse and put it away if it is not being used after me.I love to put my horse away because then you can groom them and put their sheets on.

Horses Rock

by Ryleigh
(Western Australia)

I am horsecrazy because horses have a great sense of humor. They come in great colors, sizes and patterns which are very nice to me. They are very good companions to have. I think they can be very nice to ride and just see them canter.

My favorite horse to ride is Georgia because she canters nicely. I love having horse riding at the school of horse riding that I go to each week.

I think my favorite color for a horse would be white, not that it matters, because all horses are beautiful. All the day I think about wild horses and what they would be doing.

My show horse prue

I think my show horse named prue is the best because she is an angel and she is a gentle giant. I am horse crazy because I have always had a love for horses and I think they are the best animals in the world. I have been riding for 1/2 years and I have been to my first show and got two seconds on my horse prue. She is a 15h black mare with 4 stockings and a star the shape of a heart. I also love the barn I ride at look the up at facebook and type in samuri stables. My best ride on prue was when I jumped my first 3 footer. I had a great time that day that is why I am a horse crazy girl.

I love horses so much that my first short e-novel is a horse adventure story called 'One Last Run'. Its an emotional journey with highs and lows and I even got into the local paper and have been invited to do an interview on local radio.

Why not check out my facebook page: One Last Run - Horse Adventure Story

My pen-name is Elizabeth Jade.

I even went on holiday at a horse rescue farm and worked with the horses every day, getting up really early - now that's my idea of a holiday. :)

So there is this horse named Flint on my best friends pap's Appaloosa farm. He is a 2 yr old purebred Appaloosa gelding. When I first saw him I knew he was going to be mine.

He isn't mine yet though and in about 4 yrs he could be. I really wish for him to be mine and someday I know he will be mine.

Every Single Horse

by Danielle
(England)

I love every single horse in the world (I haven't met loads of them but I still love them!)

I love them because they are big and when you ride all you think about is the horse that you are riding and that they are looking after you.

It's a lovely feeling when you fly over a jump in a competition for a team, or for yourself, because when the horses hooves thud against the floor there is always that rush that you get from the experience!

We own three horses my horse is fancy she is a red and white paint she is a very loving horse she will do anything you want her to do always willing to learn something new.The second horse we have is soshka she was given to us for free because she is retired she is close to thirty yrs old and swayback we don't ride her anymore.

The third horse we have is named chico he also was given to us he is a small white horse we don't ride him anymore because he plow reins so he is retired too we don't know what kind of breed he his but we love him. I live on a farm we raise our own sheep to show in the fair.

They seem to know that the crowd is cheering for them, and show off every chance they get. I also love the fast paces and the high-stepping gates. This breed is why I am horse crazy <3

Jessa, Horsey, and Me

by Glenna
(Marietta, GA, U.S.A)

My best friend's Aunt has the most beautiful horse in the entire world...and now, she's mine!

Aunt Holly couldn't afford her anymore so, she's staying in her barn and my parents and I are paying for everything.

Aunt Holly is so nice to have let me have her. The only problem is...she doesn't have a name! Aunt Holly and my friend Jessa (yes, Jessa!) couldn't think up a good name for her. They've been calling her Horsey! I know I'm going to have to think up a better name for her. I just don't know what yet. I want to be an author and am going to write a book about her so i need a REALLY GOOD NAME!

I'm going crazy, looking at all the Bella Sara cards, surfing the web and everything else. Below is a list of names to consider:

1. Magic
2. Fairy Dust
3. Kiwi
4. Special
5. Misty
6.
Any ideas? I know I'll find a great name...the process of coming up with it is what I don't like!

Forever Horsemad

by Sky Wing
(New Zealand)

I never used to like horses. Ever since I was at school when I was five or six, I loved cats. Everything to do with them. It was always cats, cats, cats for me.

Then one rainy day, we got to watch a movie. The teacher had two movies. We could watch one or the other. I can't really remember much, because I was so young then, but I had loved animals very much, even if cats were my favorite, so I chose to with the movie that had a animal on the cover.
That movie happened to be Spirit; Stallion of the Cimmaron. While watch that movie, I fell in love with horses. I went crazy about, begging my mother and father until they finally got me lessons at a nearby riding school. I loved that movie from the start, I've watch it over and over and over... and I still love it.

I'm not too bad a rider now. I've been riding quite a few years now too.

It never gets boring though, riding horses. Every time I get on a horse, I wish that time could stop and I could be there forever. I've got a favorite horse I like to ride. I small grey mare called Kelly. I have great fun on her.

I even help out at the riding center now. Helping kids learn to ride like I did.

I'll love horses forever, I know that.

Everlasting Love

(England)

I have been with horses for a long time and do regular work at my local stables. Besides being with the horse i get a lot out of it. Such as the experience i enhance every time and my free ride after work.

I have started at the young age of 14 which will be better for my future ideas and perspective on the horsey world.

The best horse i had ever ridden was a horse named Broomy. She was 15hh and really was a smooth ride. She seemed to know when i was struggling and when i was at my best. She has made me more confident in riding and i really want to thank her for that.

I love the stables because when i was a very novice rider and i first appeared there no one was unkind, they all were very friendly and understanding.

Sadly, i don't own a horse which is a great disappointment but as long as i can work at the stables ...no problem! ^_^

How I Became Horsecrazy..

by A HorseCrazy Rider
(Crawfords, Australia)

It all started when I went to Flint River Riding Academy. I had to ride one of the stable's horses. She was BEAUTIFUL!!!!! She was black and white with long black mane and tail. Her name was Patch. She was 10 years old. I loved her SO much!!!!

Okay!!! I'll tell you how I became horse crazy!!!!! It all started July 1, 2005, I was riding with my best friend in the South Meadow. COmanche, the horse was not himself that day, so we galloped to the driveway. Just our luck, our other friend was driving down the driveway, right when my best friend was crossing with Comanche.

Thankfully, our friend's dad stopped in front of Comanche and my best friend. But, Comanche reared up and neighed. I screamed, "Watch out!!"

My Horse Crazy Adventures!!!!!!!!

by Maddy
(Lancaster, PA, USA)

I love Breyer. No, I don't love, I ADORE Breyer horses. I want to go to Breyerfest, SOOOOOO BBAAADDD, but my dad won't take me. He says that for me, mom, and him, it would cost 1,500 just to get to Kentucky, where breyerfest is.

Honestly, I have two, maybe three traditionals, and maybe five classics. I have like, none, because I'm eleven and breyers are expensive. So I'm begging him and begging him, and begged him some more. So he finally said yes. And I said really, and he said no. So yeah.

But then he said "You don't know how much I WANT to give you a horse, you don't know how much I WANT to let you board it where you want, You don't know how much I WANT to let you show and stuff, You also don't know how much I WANT to take you to Breyerfest, The problem is, I CANT! I would LOVE to, but I CANT! I'm really sorry honey."

So then I went upstairs, and went on the breyer site. I saw that you could send pictures of your entry through via email!!! Problem. I have no tack, i have barely any horses, and i have no riders. I have one Paradise rider, but that's like betrayal to use it in a breyer event. So now im stuck with staying at home all weekend watching tv while every other horse lover is at breyerfest having the time of their lives.

I just want to be around horses. I cry at night, that's how much i love them and can't be around them, like EVER! I can't do anything that involves horses, because I'm POOR!!!!! i JUST WANT TO BE AROUND HORSES!!!! my dad gave me the option of breyerfest, or no internet, cable, or telephone for a month, and i honestly said breyerfest. I'm not afraid to give up my tv or phone or computer for horses. I never felt this way before. I feel like i'm enclosed in a bubble by everyone around me. I feel like i have no fun. I have no friends at school, i'd rather spend all my time in the barn.

I don't care if i miss all these cool things like field trips or park day, track and field day! I just wasn tto be around horses! I want my life to revolve around horses!!! i DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE ELSE FEELS THIS WAY, BUT PLEASE!!! leave a comment, I want someone to know how i feel. Someone that, knows how, i feel..... :)

I can't explain it. Please! Someone please tell me if they feel this way!!! I don't want to be alone anymore! i DON'T care if i'm an outcast, i have horses. Please tell me if you feel the same way as i do.

Today i woke up this morning because my alarm went off at seven o'clock. I went on a walk with my grandad with our 2 dogs called ben and mia. Then we saw a lovely horse beautiful snowy white and my grandad did something that made me angry! He took us through the horse field lookilly and i had the common sense to put our dogs on their leads. I thought it was wrong to go in that field because it wasn't ours. We do not like people we don't know coming in our house so why should we go in theirs.

My Horse Obsession

by Lauren
(IL)

When I was little, about five, my mom bred and raised quarter horses and paints. I am very sad to say that I did not like horses then. In fact, I was rather scared of them.

When I was seven, we sold all of our horses except for one special horse. It was my mom's horse that she got when she was 14, and trained herself. Her name is Outstanding Cheks, nicknamed Cher. She's still around today (at 23 !!!) but, at the tragic age of four, Cher and some other horses where spooked and they ran into a barbed wire fence. Cher ended up with half of her chest missing, and she cannot be ridden because she stumbles so much.

About a year ago, my grandpa died. I was really sad, though I tried to hide it. I finally discovered that horses weren't scary, and that they are very, very, very beautiful and understanding. We just clicked. So that's my story of horse obsession. I am saving my money for a horse right now.

This is my baby! I looove you Miss Midnight! <3 <3 <3

I have loved horses since before I could talk. I have always been captivated by them. Their strength, beauty, grace, and personalities have interested me ever since I first saw a horse.

About four years ago someone told my parents about a barn near us that offers inexpensive lessons. They knew how much I loved horses, so they signed me up for lessons. I fell even more in love with horses after my very first lesson. I have fallen countless times, and most were pretty hilarious, so I'll explain some to you!

~ I was riding an old lazy horse (she's my baby and I love her) and we were cantering up to a tiny little vertical, probably around 16" high. I was in jumping position way to early and totally over-jumping, so the horse decided to stop right before the jump. I was so far ahead I just flipped over her head and fell onto the jump.

~ I was practicing jumping position on the flat at a canter (on the same horse as above) and we were doing pretty well. Suddenly the horse tripped and fell onto her front knees. I (once again!) slid down her neck and onto the ground, and she got up and continued cantering.

~ This is one of my biggest fails ever. I was riding a horse I was unfamiliar with. After I finished grooming him I tacked him up - as usual - and tightened his girth. His girth was snug like it should be, but not tight. I climbed onto the mounting block and got onto the horse. He took two steps and sat down like I dog!

I started freaking out and trying to get off, but then he lied down and tried to roll! I jumped off of him before he rolled over my legs, but I was so freaked out. Our trainer made us practice flying dismounts for the rest of the lesson. Haha :)

~ I was riding a tiny little pony, and I could honestly touch the ground on either side of me if my feet were out of the stirrups! (Yeah, not exactly the right sized horse for me :)) Everything was fine until I asked the pony to trot.

He reared and took off at a gallop, and I was hanging on for dear life. He started bucking and twisting and shaking and I eventually flew over his head and through the air, and I crashed into a wall. I cracked my helmet, and my collarbone in the process.

I hopped off the ground and looked around. I had a huge purple, black, blue and yellow bruise on my shoulder and a giant lump under my skin. My trainer tried to make me feel better by saying "I didn't know a horse could buck so high! His back legs were almost vertical!" Oddly enough, that didn't make me feel better. LOL! :)

Those are my favorite falls! I am still totally horse crazy and ride every week. I love to talk and I hope I can meet more horse crazy girls!

Horses though life!

by By HorseCrasycinta
(Victoria, Australia)

Hi. I love to spend my spare time watching or playing with my family’s ponies Gypsy and Spirit. I love my ponies and I love to lead them around and groom them. We do have horses and I that I go and see nearly every day.

It all started when I was born on a farm. I remember my dad told me that I used to pull the old Horse Nacca’s hair/mane. My dad and mum broke up after my second birthday so mum and I moved to the city.

We were all unhappy mum would cry in bed, dad used to call me and say how much he loved me even know I didn’t understand him and I would say dad! Dad! Every second of the day. I go and see my dad every holiday or weekend so I am lucky.... Enough! :(

My mum and dad agreed that I would move in with dad when I am about 13 to 14, I can't wait until I Move in with dad.

I guess I have loved horses and ponies ever since!! :) I love you dad and I miss you Gypsy and spirit. I miss you!

I Love My Pony!

by Sami

I love everything about horses! Even the mucking out! I lease a POA (Pony of the Americas) named Polka Dot Lady. I am hoping to buy her within the next year.

I do several 3-Day Events such as Eventful Acres, Camelot Equestrian Park, and this fall I am going to do a event at Ram Tap Horse Trials in Fresno.

I take lessons from my awesome trainer, Alana (known around the barn as Lani). I also go to a lot of local shows near Davis, California. The barn I ride at is called Sunfire Equestrian.

My trainer also does a program where she takes in horses and and trains them. I help her ride all the horses and I help her train them when new ones come in.

I hope you enjoyed my horse story!

Leah's horse page

by Leah
(Marine City, Michigan)

I am horse crazy not just because they are elegant and beautiful but they have also a beautiful personality.

Horses are also a great way to get around! I have always wanted a horse. I would of course ride the horse to school everyday. I would show everybody I know the horse. And I would want a girl that is young but not a foal. I would want her to have a white coat and a black mane. I would train her and get matching everything! And I would want to name her Renesmee, Rosalie, Alice or Bella. But I would probably want to name her Rosalie.

I am an animal lover and I cry at the animal abuse commercials. It breaks my little heart to see animals hurt. And makes me want to put the people who abuse the poor things in prison for their whole life! I wish the world had peace and no animal abuse or crime. And why would anyone want to even hurt animals!? We are all on the same planet and there is nothing we can do about it!

I love all animals especially horses! And that is why I am horse crazy.

I am a true horse crazy girl!

I am horse crazy! I think horses are strong, beautiful, graceful, gentle, brave, funny, and intelligent. They are also sweet and they don't judge you.

I do not have a horse of my own, but there is a horse ranch close by, so I can go there to practice my riding. I also read a LOT of horse books! And I collect LOTS of model horses, but I like collecting Breyer horses the best! They are so life like!

My dream horse is a palomino Arabian mare with a small star on her forehead, three socks or stockings of different lengths, and deep brown eyes. Just to sum it up, I LOVE HORSES! :)

My love for horses (Texas cowgirl!)

by Karah
(Texas)

I'm 13 and a Texas cowgirl! Pure country girl, home-schooled and I LOVE HORSES!

I don't have a horse, but hopefully going to get one... I doubt it! My parents say its too much money... and I'm asking for the cheapest ones!

Three stallions live across my street! My family lives on 4 acres and raise poultry!

Anyways... I have only ridden a horse like... maybe four or five times but I'm still confident that I can ride a horse on my own!

Exmoor pony Mad!

Hi there, I've loved ponies for as long as I can remember! A few years ago I fell of a horse, almost onto concrete and broke my arm. I really wanted to ride again but when I got on I felt really scared and wanted to get back off! My Mum and Dad thought that if they got me a pony I might want to try again. We tried loads of ponies but none of them were right. Finally we found one. His name was Bracken, and he was an Exmoor Pony, I fell in love with him at first sight!

At first I was reluctant to ride him, but one of my mum's friends' said she knew a riding school that might help. There I rode a pony that was quite a bit taller than Bracken (as Bracken is an Exmoor he can only be 12.3hh or smaller).

The pony that I rode at the riding school, Balli, was 14hh and Bracken was 12.3hh! I slowly started getting more confident and less scared. And then my riding instructor came to our yard and started teaching me on Bracken. One day at school a friend said, "I can canter!" I'd always helped her and she'd always helped me so I asked my riding instructor if I could have a canter, and she said yes! Now I've come on leaps and bounds and Bracken has come every step of the way with me! He is really lazy in the school but very forward going on hacks and jumping! One of the main reasons that I love ponies is that they teach you loads and are always there for you!

How I Stumbled on the Love of Horses

by Bettie
(Oregon)

My Horse Story..

The first time I rode a horse was when I was so little, I barely remember. It was at a church and a birthday party thing. The horse was gorgeous, it was a bay thoroughbred mare. The main thing I remember was sitting on the horse looking at the horn and wishing I could reach the stirrups.

That was just the start. I then moved to a small town in Oregon that is surrounded by fields, mountains, and HORSES!! I'd always play in the car with friends as if they were ours. Later on I got a friend who had like 12 horses. I never got to ride any of the horses, but I did get get to ride a cranky old pony with a funky hair-do. I'd spend almost every weekend at her house and we'd take care of the horses and groom them. Sadly, one day they went bankrupt and sold the farm and moved away.

THEN I had to get my OWN. Like everyone, I started out wanting the big black Friesan stallion who I would name Stormy. I'm over that now. LOL. I started getting horse ridding lessons from a lady down the road. I became great friends with her little sister who is 10 days older than me. After that my horse life went up hill!

I started to go to horse shows and tack shops with them and me and her would have sleepovers and spend the whole time ridding. Right now I'm hooked on Arabians and love them to death!!! I just bought my own paddock boots and half chaps and I'm the happiest person in the world. And this weekend I get to go to a horse camp with my friend. It will be the best and hopefully I can get that arabian soon!

When I grow up I'm gonna get a degree in forensic science and move to Montana. There I'll have a big ranch of show jumping Arabians. I'll also be a famous horse jumper. Look out for me in the next 10 years :P

Skylight and Me

I've always admired horses. They are just plain gorgeous as well as trustworthy, loyal, kind (usually!) but most of all wonderful to care for and ride.

I am a girl who does not mind mucking out, feeding, grooming or tack cleaning. I love it just as much as riding.

I got my horse Skylight when I was 11. I am 14 now. Sklyight is a 16 hh grey gelding. He is an arab. He is loyal, gentle, playful. He has bouncy long strides and perfect gaits.

My favourite ride was when my family took a vacation to a beach resort. There was a stable nearby so we boarded Skylight there. We went out for a beach ride. We went splashing in the water.

I love all horses but I love my horse the most!

this is not Jane but could be her twin

Hi there. I have had a passion for horses since I was born. My parents have never had the same love for these beautiful creature but have been totally supportive. I guess I get my love from my Grandad. He had a job with horses and alwaqys asks about my riding. I don't have a horse but that doesn't stop me from believing that I can convince my parents to let me have one. My favourite horse ever is a 22 year old thourougbred X named Baby Jane. she is the most beautiful colour of chestnut and has a white blaze one stocking two socks and one ermine. When I groom her before my riding lesson she barley needs it her coat sheens naturally. The wildest thing that ever happened to me while riding her was we were trotting with the rest of my friends at my lesson when something spooked her and she just cantered away with me! Now I know this wouldn't be to scary for most people but I had never cantered before! I think that the thing that makes me horse crazy is that I'm very passionate about these beautiful creatures all the books I have on my shelves are horse books and I would do anything to get one or save one. I'm looking forward to more adventures on my princess jane and will keep everyone posted.
Thanks for listening. Toodles!

Hi im 14 years old and this is me and my beautiful horse competing in sydey for the showjumping classic. I was the youngest rider there and i won it. that is my fav moment ever..

1. Inspiration. Horses are creatures of beauty. Beauty may be in the eyes of the beholder, but horses have inspired artists and poets through the ages. I am awed by the sight of a herd of horses galloping through a field - powerful, independent beasts but stunning to view. They are living art forms that remind us of the natural wonders of the world. This in turn inspires us to live our lives at a higher level.

2. Fun! Some of my best times growing up are doing things with my friends and my horses. We spent hours playing at the barn. Sometimes my girlfriends and I would go to the jump arena and pretend we were horses. Other times we'd be out riding and pretend space invaders were coming after us and we had to outrun them by galloping across an open field. Silly? Yes, but these are fond memories. Horses let kids be kids. They nurture the imagination and enjoyment of life.

3. Riding is all around great exercise. Burning calories and toning muscles while enjoying nature is the ultimate. The combination of barn work, grooming, and regular riding is one of the best kept fitness secrets around. If you ride regularly you can probably save a bundle on gym fees.

4. Social life. There are many social activities related to horses. From hanging out at the barn with friends to going to shows or group trail rides, horses keep their owners in touch with other humans. Horses give you an instant common bond with other horse admirers. This bond overcomes cultural cultural and societal differences.

5. Positive mental health and relaxation. I keep horses because I love to ride, but it's not the only reason. Truth is even if I didn't ride I would keep horses because I love being around them. Horses relax you and intuitively seem to know what you need. I have come to appreciate this aspect of horses with the passage of time.

As a kid horses meant riding and being with my friends. Now they act as natural tranquilizers - their very presence can lower my blood pressure and improve my mood. I simply enjoy watching them do their normal horsey activities - from munching on hay to rolling on their backs in the sandpitt.

And for these reasons and more this is why I love the magnificent, beautiful and graceful species which is of course the wonderful horse.

Nicole's Horse Sense

by Nicole
(Pennsylvania)

Me trying to get back into jumping.

Me trying to get back into jumping.

Horses have always been my therapy and now are my life. They helped me learn discipline, responsibility, and how to have intuition.

I worked at the horse farm so I could pay for lessons and horse shows. I first rode when I was 11, and still ride now.

I was first taught on a very sweet Arabian gelding, named Ramadan. Since then, I learned how to ride lots of different horses and now I have a beautiful Andalusian mare, named Anda Bella. I got to name her myself and I trained her from a weanling. She is brilliant, strong and very athletic. She takes care of me and gives me confidence to try something new or scary. I will always be HorseCrazy!

My favorite breeds are the Andalusian, Lusitano, Haflinger, American Paint Horse and I'm favorable towards a well bred American Quarter Horse and Arabian. I adore the Iberian breeds for their ability in Dressage, but I know more about jumpers, so I appreciate a good jumper when I see one.

I have been learning dressage since I developed Epilepsy. I did Hunters/Jumpers before I had seizures. I switched to Dressage for the safety aspect, but I'm going back into jumping because my horse likes to jump. Now I just always wear a riding vest and ALWAYS a helmet. I've also started learning Western. It is a little easier than English, but it requires more fine detail than I think English riders give western riders credit for.

One of my life goals is to be able to complete a whole Eventing Trial with my mare.

True friends last forever

by Rebekah
(Kansas, USA)

I own two horses but this is the story of Chisum.

Chisum is a blue roan yearling Quarter horse, he is still a stallion but we will probably geld him.

So the horse that I rode KC had Chisum and I remember the day like it happened yesterday.

My Mom came to get my up out of bed but I just lay there and ignored her. She went back downstairs and I heard her say, "Look, KC's had her foal!" I was out off bed, had my clothes on and was down the stairs before you could say." Get up!" I put on my coat and boots. My Mom got the camera and put on her coat and boots and we headed out.

We went out to the pasture and Mom got some pictures but, KC wouldn't let us to get close to see if the foal was a boy or girl, but I thought it was a girl because I couldn't see under it, and named it Cheyenne.

I couldn't concentrate through school all that morning because KC hadn't cleaned herself out and my aunt said that if they didn't within nine hours they'd die. Finally my Dad got home and my Mom convinced him to call the vet. The vet was scheduled to come at one.

But while we waited we went and caught KC. And come to find out the foal was a colt (boy) not a filly (girl)!

My Mom brought the camera and took some pictures, I was so proud almost as if Chisum were my own. But he was so funny because his tongue hung out of his mouth, just a quirk.

We went in to eat lunch. And finally the vet arrived between 1:30 and 2:00 pm. We gave KC a shot to make her have contractions and hopefully that would push the birth sack on out. It didn't. We took her up to the neighbors place because we weren't sure what she'd do when the vet tried to pull out her birth sack. We penned her between the fence and a gate. But she was perfectly fine when the vet pulled the birth sack out.

Once he left and we led them back home we decided to name the colt Chisum.

And he has gone from a baby newborn foal to a rambunctious yearling. But I love his quirk of snuffling my hair and blowing in it, it is so nice.

I still remember the day on March 25 2011.

'Best friends last a lifetime. True friends last forever.'

Right now I am having problems to get him to lunge, he just turns and faces me and just stands there. How can I get him to lunge?

P.S Picture later. Once I find one.

My Page: Why I Am A Horse Crazy Girl

(Oregon)

Hi, I will now tell you why I am horsecrazy. They are beautiful, loving, and amazing creatures. When I am riding one I feel happy and free. Horses are my one safe place and I love them like crazy. They give me ideas and happiness. My dream horse's name is Mavis.

She is a buttermilk buckskin, an Arabian. She wears the chartreuse ribbons that I put into her mane. She is a happy horse with free spirit that just enjoys life. She is a young filly and loves to look up at the stars at night with me for hours. She follows me everywhere and comes to me when I call her. Whenever I am sad she knows just how to make me smile.

One day she found a heart shaped locket and gave it to me. I always wear it and haven't taken it off since then. She is also wise for such a young horse and is super smart although she can act childish if she wants.

And that is my dream horse, thank you for reading my horse page!

Thoroughbred Lover

I am horse crazy for many reasons. I love horses because they are fun, loving, and a great friend. they're so much fun to ride jump and canter on. Also, they let me have responsibility to take care of them. Also when I ride them it gives me confidence and the feeling of accomplishment when I finish the show or course. I leased a horse which was an awesome experience for me. no I am hoping I could buy my own.

I am looking for some good horse books movies and games. Also some tips for becoming a better rider. someday I hope to become a vet for horses or a professional horse back rider.

I leased a dark bay 17hh thoroughbred who is 9 years old. he is about bomb proof. which means safe for about everyone for those who don't know. his owner is gonna sell him soon though, and I will miss him a lot. this is my dream horse:

-a super tall liver or dark bay thoroughbred gelding or mare, preferably a gelding
- a Hunter or a jumper, also with eventing and dressage training
- bomb proof
- low temperament around 1 or 2 or 3
- around 6 to 10 years old.
- spook free
- not shy around farrier, vet, girth, small kids or animals, etc
- a kind good-natured horse
- no markings
- and is able to go on trail rides and ride bareback

I know that by his is a lot of must haves and must not haves but I think someday I will find my dream horse.

I have been in 7 classes in shows. I have won over 25 ribbons two trophies and two champion and two reserve champions. 6 firsts 10 seconds . 3 3rds 1 fourth and fifth and a lot more. all of these shows had over 8 people in them. I have jumped oxer over 3 ft done a little gymkhana and western but mainly I do English. I also can do a flying lead change.I also can canter courses with jumps over 2'6. I have been riding for 3 years.

Why I, Marissa, Am HorseCrazy!

by Marissa
(Michigan)

Horses are just too beautiful, and they share a common history with humans. They also LET us domesticate them. The way they come galloping across the meadow, and ride as smooth as silk, they are so pretty. From Arabians to Andalusians to Appaloosas, I <3 them all!

I was bit super hard by the horse bug, in 3rd grade and I am now in 6th grade. That is 4 years I have loved horses! My neighbors have a horse named Leroy and he might be sold soon to an old lady. I will miss he to the day I die.

They also had a pinto gelding named boomer and I will also miss him to the day I die. Hopefully they don't end up in the slaughter house.

I also take pictures of my model horses. The one at the top of the page is an example.

My First Horse

by Hannah B.
(Kentucky)

This is my first horse, Joe Dee. This 1/2 quarter horse, 1/2 arabian, gelding, chestnut, 14.3 hh has a need for speed. This little horse can book it! He loves to run. He is my barrel buddy!!!! I love him!!!! He has put me what seems like hell but is actually my lessons from him. He teaches me something new everyday. Like the other day he taught me not to get on him beside a wooden wagon since he likes to walk off when you are barely on. I fell off hit my head and arm on the wagon and left bruises about the size of a baseball. It hurt! But I still love him to death. He is my baby boy!

My Journey with Horses so far!

by Cowgirl
(Lennox Head NSW Australia)

Hi! I'm Marley and I'm totally horse mad!
I started riding when i was 5, but my mum has had a horse since she was pregnant with me so i always used to get lead around on her bareback. Her name was Polly and she was a 14.3hh ASH mare.

For my 5th birthday from my mum and dad, I got riding lessons at a place called Seedy Creek. I was so excited and I had heaps of friends there too. I kept going there until I was 7, then one of my dad's, friend's wife, named Francis, started up a riding center and I quit at Seedy Creek and started to go there. It was called Woodlands Riding Centre.

I loved all of the horses there and got some extra lessons for free in exchange for helping out on Saturdays. Sadly as I was one of the youngest riders I didn't get to do much because everybody didn't think much of me! I wasn't allowed to go and catch the horse or even tack him up and the older girls got to! This mad me very angry!!!!!!

I talked to my mum and dad about getting my own pony and keeping it at my pop's farm. They never really said yes, so when one of mum's friends rang up and said she found a pony i was thrilled! We had tried so many times before and had looked at many different ponies, I was still very up set about the last pony that we looked at called Highlander. I had all of my hopes and Dreams set on him and Francis said he had too big of a stride for me and I was furious and angry at myself for not speaking up and saying that I really wanted him and even my mum, who isn't very horsey anymore, said that we should have bought him! O.K. back to this other pony~we were going to see her the next Friday as it was the holidays!

As we pulled into this yard were the pony lived, I saw that a man was working a huge TB over some jumps without a saddle, bridle or lunge rein! As I said hello I heard a whinny come from the stable block and I walked in to see a very skinny run-0down old standarbred Mare. Her name was Sally. I instantly fell in love with her and wanted to get on her immediately!

I got on and found out that she was very sluggish and then the man gave me a whip! I had used whips in the past but didn't want to do it to Sally as I thought It may hurt her because she was very skinny. The man got on her and showed me how it use the whip on her so it wouldn't hurt, then I got on.

I left that day with a heart healed and full of gold and knowing that Sally would be mine! I went home to talk to my dad about it and he broke some happy news to me! He said that we are going to buy a farm closer to our house that pop's and I was allowed to buy her!

I rang up mum's friend(Lynne) and told her the good news. She also gave me some news(good news) That she was only for sale for $200! and we were allowed to go and collect her the next day!!

We didn't have a float and Lynne's place wasn't that far away, so we decided to ride her from her old home to lynne's farm! We had to cross a busy highway but Sally was fine and then a long 4 and a half kilometre ride was ahead of us!

I have already fallen off sally once but that is all art of the fun, right?! I was 10 when i got Sally and am now onto my next Horse an Arabian mare called Hayes! We still own Sally for friends and my annoying brothers to ride as well as Polly and Hayes! I'm now eleven and this story is a true story and this can just go to show how much you van love horses and never give up on them!

Thanks for reading!

To tell you the truth I don't really know why I am horse crazy.Maybe it is because they are so beautiful. Or maybe it is because they listen to you when other people don't.One thing I know for sure is that I love riding.Once I warm up my horse I begin to trot then canter and eventually gallop.Once in a while I like to do some jumps.

This is Valerie and me

This is Valerie and me

Horses are my passion, my life, my love. If i get the opportunity to go horseback riding, watch because i will take it in a heart beat.
I have alot of favorite horses i rode and ride.
Fireball is an Arabian at my training stables. He is a brown Gelding, he's gorgeus.
My first horse I ever had was, Star. Star was a palomino kept at my camp. He was a beautiful golden gelding.
Valerie was another horse I was crazy about. She was a bay mare, who was just beautiful.
Spell-caster was another horse that i did not own though. Spell-caster is a regional champion, who is a pretty Arabian. He has red spots on a white coat. He is sooooo pretty.
Jay is the last horse i will mention, but I can go on. Jay is a brown thoroughbred who loves just about any person he will meet.

I love horses so much it's not funny.
I raise money for facilities such as the R.S.P.C.A and World Horse Welfare, because I hate slaughter and having to put millions of animals down everyday.
I have a miniature horse called 'Fireblade' (or Tiny Teddy) and he's so cute! Anyway hope you can help me raise money by going to the I.L.P.H website.
Thnx!

Horsecrazy Forever!

by Orca Abby

When I was born my mom gave me a horse stuffed animal. I named it horsey. 5 years later when I started preschool I threw water over horsey's face and hid him behind my wastebasket. I was scared horsey was embarrassing. Then my friend Jordy came to my house and found horsey. I threw horsey to my little sister.

She grew up loved horses, rode, showjumping. When she found a boyfriend she lost interest in horses and never looked at one again.

Horsey lives with my grandma now. I am 13 years old and also have a boyfriend.

I adore horses! My favorite horse Fred, is for sale and I want to buy him so bad!! I'm trying to save money to buy him, but it's hard to save $4,000 when his owner wants to sell him by winter.

Horses are fun to ride, take care of and just talk to. They seem to understand what you're saying. And when you say stuff they don't snap back. Sometimes they just turn their heads and look at you when you say something.

My dream job is to be a jockey. I absolutely love horse racing!

Picture of Bandit the horse

This is a picture of Bandit, he lives at my friends grandmothers farm. Acually.... her aunt owns the horses, but her grandmother owns the property.

Well it is a long story how i started liking horses. It all started in my room, I was looking through a horse catalog and then I realized how pretty horses are.

Right now I probably have like....... 14-15 traditional sized horse models. Their names are, Dunaway Tango, Earth, Gofert, Ideal, Succession, Lefire, Flicka, Sport, Redbone Rodeo, Cupid, Arrow, Angler, Buckskin Beauty, Misty, Stormy, Smart Chic Olena, and Sunka Tanka. I know I have a lot. I also love horses because they are beautiful, and graceful, I just can't explain. My dream horse, hmm...............??? I probably would want a bay QH/Arabian(exactly 1/2) gelding. I love that breed!!

Horsecrazy Olivia!

by Olivia
(USA)

Hi, my name is Olivia! I have been totally horse crazy for only 3 years, but I went to a 2 month long horse camp where we learned years of riding. I rode a bay quarter horse mare named Tess, she is 20 years old (she was 17 at the camp), stubborn, but not lazy, and I love her so* much and I rode western at that camp, and we did some barrel racing. I ride English now, but oh well.

I do not own a horse, but I lease one. Her name is Spot and she is a rich chestnut quarter horse crossbreed, and she is 4. She is hyper and spunky, but I am a more advanced rider so I know how to handle her.

I live in the USA but I lived in Australia pretty much my whole life (I was born in the USA though). Right now I have a dog, 2 cats, 3 fish, and 1 kitten.

Back in Australia, I rode an old Mustang crossbreed gelding named Image (he was 30 I believe). I LOVE horses and they are pretty much my life! They come before EVERYTHING! (Well besides family, friends, and Him).

Wild Fyre's first time - Zoey

by Zoey
(Arizona)

My horse, WildFyre, is a red dun arabian.A few days ago, we rode him around the block for the second time, he was doing very very good, until we walked across someone's yard who had dogs. The dogs (who were behind a fance) spooked WIld FYre (I was on his back!!) and he reared and bucked and flipped out! He cantered around in a circle, then the backed up by a car and reared, so high I thought we were gonna come crashing down onto the car! But then he went back down and I talked to him and soothed him. And he was fine after that. it was weird, he never freaks like that, for a 3 year old colt, he is pretty mellow. I wish I had pictures and i'd put them up. I'll take a few pictures of him over CHristmas, with antlers on him then show ya!

Mini-Holly-Zaffy-Bella-Birdie

by SweetBird
(NZ)

My first horse was a really nice 11.1hh pony (called Mini) who was good to ride for a small amount of time but she was old(30 years old at the time), so my mum and me went looking for a younger pony that I could ride.

We found a pony somewhere(I forgot the name of the place), who seemed almost perfect, until I rode her. She was very full of beans, Her name was Holly, we went twice to go see her but in the end we didn't buy her.

So we went looking again and found a beautiful chestnut gelding 13.2hh with a blaze and three white stockings called Zaffy, he hadn't been ridden for a while so it was hard to tell whether he was really good or not but his loving nature made up my mind, he was only for lease which was sad. My mum and the lady who owned him arranged a day for us to come and pick him up. A week took so long to come!! We kept Zaffy for nearly a year, and over that time I had won 23 ribbons on him. Soon I grew out of him, So we had to go looking again for a bigger pony.

We searched Trade-Me over and over again for the right pony. There was one in nelson and she seemed pretty nice so me,my mum and my step-dad drove to nelson to stay with my friends and go have a look at her. She was beautiful! She was a dark bay mare with a blaze,100 percent Kaimanuwa. SO I rode her, she was very slow so they suggested I use my whip, but that was quite hard to do cause she was so cute! So I got her going and went over a jump then the other ponies that were being ridden went out of sight and she went nuts and I fell off over the jump. I went the next dat to see her again and she was perfect, we said we'll buy her but we didn't know someone else wanted her too so the owner had to decide who they wanted to sell her to. They ended up choosing the other person who wanted her because they live just down the road and we live hours away ='(.

So then we were back to the horse search again and we found one that looked lovely, she lived in Dunedin but we didn't want to go for another trip so we sent my instructor down and he said she was lovely too so we bought her, I didn't ride her over the chritmas holidays so she was full of beans but we are now back in work, Today we even did a flying change! Her Name is Mockingbird (aka Birdie) she is a bay mare, 14 years old, with a blaze, 14.2hh. She is very caring and knows when you are upset. I love her soo much and I would never sell her EVER!

And I still have Mini who is now 32 years old, only toddlers can ride her now but she can still jump, but without someone on her. She makes a very good paddock pal for Birdie. But she is sometimes moody.

Good things ALWAYS come to people who wait :-)

I wove horsies!

Horse Hair Braiding!!!

by Kayley
(Medicine Hat, Alberta)

Hey everyone,

I want a horse so badly so I came to the conclusion to braid horse manes and tails for shows and just in general.

I have heard people pay 60 to 90 dollars for the mane and tail. So if you charged 60 for the mane and tail for two weeks you would have already $840!

This is a tip for people who need quick cash for horses such as boarding costs.

Thanks for reading!

Horses, Horses, Horses

by Ayla
(Australia)

I am horse crazy because I am. I have horse posters, horse toys collectible ones, horse statues, 20 horse books, a jumping saddle, a stock saddle, a dressage saddle and an all-purpose saddle.

I have two pony bridles a show one and a training one. Also a bitless horse bridle, a training one and a show one. I have my own Cross Country course and awesome trail rides that are rated easy, medium and hard. They are awesome. I have rode ever since i was young i have had all these horses: lilly, joey, charlie, pheonix, stormy, racehorse, moony, swaybe and two others from riding schools but i have had to go through broken wrists, broken toes, broken fingers and broken heart.

Owning a horse has taught me alot from saddling up when i was 8, teaching friends how to ride. And when i am upset they always cheer me up. I also own a goat called codie, dogs called nelson, digger,m ilon dbuppy. I have cats too called tricky, pinto, dutchie and fancy.A nd one of my favourite friends is a one-eyed ferret called jingle bear and a cheeky one called bitey boo. THEY DON'T BITE OR STINK, THEY ARE TRAINED AND BATHED.

At the moment we own 12 horses and half of them are mine.

I HOPE TO TRAIN ALL MY FRIENDS
TO RIDE AND RESPECT OUR 4-LEGGED
FRIENDS AND TO SAVE THEM AS THEIR
NATURAL SELVES.

Me and the horses of the wild

by Jennifer

A photo taken of the wild horses by my ranch

A photo taken of the wild horses by my ranch

I don't know how to start, I'll start with the title. I call it that because I'm drawn to wild horses, I mean I love horses in general, but to see a horse just running free having no master or owner just lifts my heart and tells me that there is hope for the world. It shows that wild spirit can drive anybody, anywhere. If you ever watched the movie Flicka you know what I mean.

Just imagine the wild horses running all around wild, spirited, free! That's the reason it's titled this way. O.K, so now you're probably thinking but what makes you horsecrazy? I just said it. Wild horses the only creatures on this earth that know me through and through.

The only ones like me...

Regal Elegance in her pasture.

I am crazy about horses because I think they are graceful, majestic, and regal. I have loved horses and wanted my own ever since I can remember. I have been riding for five years and have won a best in show and four first places with the horse I rode. She was beautiful. This is a picture of her by the way.She is a Gypsy Vanner Mare. Her name is Regal Elegance. We call her Regal.
