I Luv Horses

by Mirassa
(Missouri)

I started riding at age four. It wasn't much of a first ride; after all, someone led me and I was holding on to the saddle horn (I ride western) . Unfortunately, they moved away. I seldom got to ride then anyway so I lost my whole opportunity to ride. But I still have pictures... and I even know more about horses than almost anyone I know. I collect horse knick-knacks too. And even though my home is in the Western saddle, I still manage to surround my world with the thing I love most: horses.

I'm horse crazy more than any of the people that I know. I once when't horse back riding on mare black and white paint called Wendyfoot. She was so calm and I could trust her so much more than any other horse In the world!!! But this year, she had a foal, so I had another horse, he was brown and white, I don't remember the Breed but he kept jumping and I almost fell off.

Shiloh, the greenie I trained

Shiloh, the greenie I trained

I am in love with horses since I was born. I had no control over it, the sport picked me. I have been riding for 4 years and have trained a green horse before and I loved the feeling it gave me. I am someone who is nervous when speaking in front of my class but goes into a show ring with attitude and pride. Horses are the most important thing in my life! Shiloh is the number one horsey in my life and I love him to bits! I am buying him!!! We have won so many ribbons and we do dressage and show jumping and once I own him we will do combined testing and eventing!

my mare freedom and her foal daybreak

my mare freedom and her foal daybreak

Life is hard when your family moves away from the one place you feel like you belong well this happened to me i lived a green valley with loads of wild horses running free i had a horse named freedom she was awesome some day's we would gallop over the hills and never come home other days we would stand high amongst the herds and watch the sunset but all that changed when my parents wanted to move back to the city i went taking freedom with me but a few months in her new paddock i could tel she missed the wilderness i wanted to take her back there let her be free with the other horses but i was to attached to the mare that saved me 3 times once in a flood and 2wice we had a bad fall freedom was trotting along the path nicely something spooked her from behind i fell off and went into a concussion freedom galloped all the way home and got my mum to follow her back and i was taken to hospital these things all make us inseparable but freedom still missed the herd and the valley so i knew what i had to do one day i drove her and the float down deep into the valley we stopped the herd called her i unloaded her and threw my arms round her neck "i will always love you freedom, you were there for me when no one else was you were my heart and soul i know this is right" i undid the halter and gave her a slap on the rump she galloped off then turned to look back at me "its ok i said be free be ourself but don't forget me" she galloped off that was the last time i saw her and ill never forget that shinning sad look in her eyes ill always love you freedom your gone faraway but ill never forget you
now i'm 13 and i have 2 new horses a bay mare that i named freedom and her foal daybreak i named the new mare freedom after i horse with the biggest heart of any i've even known the old freedom the one that would lay on the beach with me all night long the one that saved my life three times the one that was always their ill never forget you girl your my heart and my soul goodbye freedom i dedicate this too her

My names Liz and am nearly 16 years old ,when i was younger my mum owned a palomino Thoughroubred named Kimbarr, who sadly died many years ago.Since then ive been mad about horses and have always dreamed of some day owning my own. Then 6 years ago my dream came true i had saved up enough money to by my own pony. It was love at first sight, the first pony i went to look at i fell in love with and bought and have never regreted it. She is a 13hh mare named Kitty(Kitty Fantastico) who is exelent at everything, theres not one thing i can think of which she cant do. Were like the best of friends and we have alot in common. I dont no what i would do with out her. 5 years ago she did her first ever show, she may not have one but every show since then shes always come either 1st second or third. And it hasnt always been riding or in hand classes its driving to. Shes the best thing that has ever happened to me. And i love her so much.

Welsh ponies

Welsh ponies

I have been riding horses since I was 2 years old. My first pony was a Shetland named Patches. He had been passed down to me from my older sister. He was so old we lost track! He died around April of 2002. Now I have a Half Welsh Half Quarter horse named Aladdin. So as you may know all Welsh ponies are fat so he is more than fat he is HUGE!! But he has sweet soul and a heart to eat everything in site.

My older sister Rachael (18y.old) has an Appendix Quarter Horse. His name is Just call me Boss or J.r for short. He would never dare to hurt any body. In fact his half brother won the Quarter Horse Nat. Show! So I would love to tell my knowledge in horses with girls everywere! Thank You!!

Best Friends both horse crazy!

by Cameron

Me on Marbles first time together!

Me on Marbles first time together!

Me, Cameron (my name is from Cameron Diaz we`re both gals!) and my best ever friend Autumn have been friends since we were babies!

First of all, she got me into gerbils I got one and called it Sniffles. Then 2 years later 3 months after I got my 2 year old brown lab Sonny she got me HORSE CRAZY!!!!

I started going riding lessons and trail riding with her. A year later mum told me she was going to my cousins to cut her hair. I decided to go with her. On the way there I saw lots of cute ponies and horses. Now I know my cousin Claire has a horse and I could not wait to see it!

When I arrived her dad took me to his dads farm which was a 2 minute walk away. When we got there I met a wonderful pony called Marbles I asked to ride her and he said yes I was so happy! Now she is like my very own horse as I see her quite a lot.

A year later I moved to another country but I still here a lot of Marbles and my best friend. I have been away from them almost a year now. Hope you like my pic of me and Marbles!

My Horsey History!!! :)

This is a picture of Pyper's left eye. I took after I got done riding her bareback on my cell phone! :)

This is a picture of Pyper's left eye. I took after I got done riding her bareback on my cell phone! :)

Okay, so this is how it all started I was 6 years old about to turn 7, and the only thing I wanted to do was to ride a horse. So for my 7th birthday my grandma took me on a horseback riding group thing up some mountains. I was so young I can't remember details. Well, I started taking lessons after that. I am now in 8th grade and I'm 14, about to go to 9th after summer is over, and I have been riding for 8 years. I started out Western, but switched to English, I have only been riding English for 3 years but I love it.

I currently have 4 horses, my actual horse is Pyper, my 13 1/2 year old Purebred Arabian mare, and she is really something. She is sweet, caring, and a little crazy at times but she is my girl, and I wouldn't trade her for the world. So, that's just a brief summary I could tell you so much more but my fingers are starting to hurt. :D

I have never owned a horse but hope to one day. I loved horses ever since I could talk and have been in many horse camps and lessons.

I grew up in the city but never liked it. The only horses I was near were the horses on my wall. When I was ten, my family moved to an acreage. I love it!!

My parents finally decided to put me permanently in horse lessons. I am learning to do Saddle Seat. I ride a beautiful black Morgan gelding named Timex.

I was riding Storm on the roke trail at the riding school
+ we were about to canter over the big ditch on the hill
i was not supposed 2 because the riding school were having a lesson there but i did not realise they would use this part of the paddock. I got in real trouble and upset the lesson.

Later, after i had promised to clean out the stables 4 a week they told me that it wasn't a real lesson and that they knew i would disobey them and so they set me up. i still had 2 clean the stables 4 a week. ANNOYING!!!!!

Who needs boys when you have horses?!?!

by Sarah
(Missouri)

Hi my name is Sarah And I started riding horses when I was about 4. I first started riding on a horse named Mary Legs. She was a western pleasure horse and very sweet. Then I changed to English riding and rode saddle seat for four years.

Just recently I went to a summer riding camp at William Woods University. I rode two amazing horses there, Mark and Rudy. I spent a week there and I learned soooo much about horses. I learned a lot about veterinary stuff and got to see the farrier and equine vet at work! I also got to learn a bunch of methods on how to cure for all sorts of illnesses and stuff like that. My friend Layla has a quarter horse paint horse mix and she is beautiful! I also started riding hunter pleasure and I love it so much.

This coming Monday I am actually going to look at a 8 year old purebred grey Arabian gelding and if all goes well I get to buy him! I am now 11 and am going to continue riding horses tell I can't walk. I am HORSE CRAZY!!!!!

Need For Speed

by Morgan
(Georgia (United States))

I have 3 horses. I have a sorrel Quarter Horse mare and she is 10 years old. She was abused once but she has come a long way. I also have a bay Quarter Horse x Racking Horse x Mustang Cross gelding and he is 13 years old. I have a 1 year and 10 month old dark bay Quarter Horse x Tennessee Walker cross yearling (male). I am breaking him. He will have to be sold whenever he's at a certain point.

I am a barrel racer. I am joining the NBHA (National Barrel Horse Association) very soon. And also, my sister keeps her horse at my farm. Her horse is a grey AQUA mare. She lost her left eye, but she is treated normal. She rides and barrel races still.

I trained my mare. She has not been seasoned but that is part of the reason why I'm getting in the NBHA. I am breaking the colt and training him too.

MACNIFICENT STRONG ANIMALS

by Michaela
(South Africa)

I started adoring horses when I was 6 and started riding ever since... I'm riding this black horse midway... I use him for shows.

My whole family has a passion for horses besides my mom. Because my mom's sis Beryll had her very own horse. My mom doesn't like horses because one time a horse bit her.

I'm never giving up my passion for them... they are magnificent animals...

Tiger, My Favorite Quarter Horse

by Reina
(Kansas, USA)

Tiger and I've known each other since fall of 2010. He lives at my mom's friends house, which is half a mile away from here. I go see him when my mom allows me. But some of my trips there have been cancelled do to bad weather.

Tiger is a 27 year old Quarter Horse stallion. He was raised in Idaho. He is a light bay with a white blaze going down his forehead.

I take care of him sometimes and he likes it when I brush him. One day during last winter I went and was going to walk him on his lead rope and he hit me so hard in the cheek (one on face). That he made me cry but then I forgave him and we are still good friends. :)

Update: I made some halters for him out of cotton rope. His owner was happy. Last time I saw him was 2 weeks ago when I went to go see him and the wheat harvesters were down there too.

If I get a horse my mom said I have to take him/her down to Tiger's pen cause his owners or the person that owns the land won't charge us.

My horses!!

by Alysa
(Victoria Harbour, Ontario, Canada.)

I am horse crazy because horses are amazing animals! They are beautiful and lots of fun.
Heyy my name is Alysa, I am 15 yrs old and I have 5 horses.
My very first horses name is Barn name: Captain, Show name: His Ship Has Sailed. Captain is a 4 yr old QH/TB, I got captain when he was 2 yrs old. Captain is not fully trained it, I take if to training every Saturday I am in the Perelli program with him.

My second horses name is Barn name: Doc, Show Name: Dolce&Gabbana. Doc is a STB mare she is reg. also. I got her when she was 15 and now she is 16. Doc is amazing, she is very well trained. Doc neck reins, reins back, moves on que, jumps (kinda). Doc is the perfect trail horse. I love her.

My show horse barn name: Emerson, Show name: Im An Emerson Man. Emerson is a 9 yr old STB gelding. He is my little hunter/jumper(well ok he is not little :D. Emerson is amazing he jumps anything the highest he has jumped so far was a gate and it was 5 1/2 feet high. Emerson was a racer in his younger days. He is a blast to ride he has so many human personalities and he is so funny to watch! If he sees something that he is un-sure of he doesn't spook he will pull his body away from it and turn his head and look at it ha ha he is hillarious.

My fourth horse Sonia is really my dads horse and she is also QH/TB. She is 4 yrs old. My dad rides her down the trail she is the best for him he loves her. Oh yea and the reason my dad has a horse is because i wouldn't let him ride any of mine lol *blushes*.

My fifth horse is a 9 month old jet black filly. She is part morgan, freisan, paint, QH, and selle francais, I know alot but she is a cutie.

Pictures coming soon!!

Dawn's Horse Life

by Dawn
(Canada)

Hello, my life is just filled with horses! Every day I see horses, smell horses and feed horses crazy part is I don't live on a farm. I live in town but own three horses who I love to death.

There's my boy Luke a pure quarter horse and Caramilk, a qh/appy/morgan mix, then Cami (full name is Samantha's Sami) who is a purebred stander. Unfortunately, I'm selling Cami because her legs are too small and delicate for the Alberta prairie.

Also her hoofs are too small, they'd fit right in a gopher hole or her legs would break because of tractor ruts. So I'm selling her :( but then again, she doesn't like me too much, always lays her ears back at me.

Anyways, that isn't all. My bff lives on a farm with about ten to fifteen horses and we always go to the auctions. That's my life. Bye!

Dream Come True

I've always wanted a horse since I can remember. About 3months ago my dream came true!

After waiting nearly 11 years (I'm 15) I got my first horse! He is a 14.3hh grade quarter horse gelding. He is quite the handful, and he's still green, but I love working with him!

I took him to his first show and we both got Reserve Highpoint Champion! I didn't expect it at all! We got disqualified from three even because he tried to buck me off! Man do I love him though!

Me and Brady on a Trail ride!

by Meg
(MA)

Me jumping Brady

Me jumping Brady

I have been around horses my whole life. My uncle had horses but had to sell them recently. So when I went to a barn close to my house I got hooked! So after a few lessons Brady the horse i ride and Jennifer a barn buddy on Jack we went on a trail ride.

We did so many games. We switched horses. We jumped a tiny log. When we saw a creepy guy alone on the trail we had to trot all the way home because Jen thought he was a stalker and following us.

So we were out on the trail for 2 hours I had the time of my life! It was the first trail ride I have been on in a long time.

Why horses are some of my favorite things in the world

by Reina
(Kansas, USA)

I'm horse crazy because God gave me a love for horses. I'm trying to get a 2 year old filly but I don't have a ride of horse trailer to go three hours away.

I've loved horses ever since I could remember. The only thing I mostly draw is horses and I'm pretty good. I've been paid once to draw a cowboy and horse before.

In the future I hope to have two Mustangs, and four Quarter Horses when I am out of school and live on a ranch in the rockies.

Wild Horse Gal

by Kate
(Shrewsbury, UK)

I love wild horses, even if they are not the types in the wild, because I found 3 black and white horses and a black horse (they are all Frisian breads).

I first saw them in the paddock near the rive which is 20 mins away where I live. Well, they seem wild as they don't like to be touched and have low trust levels when around people.

They are usually in the paddock for about 8 months, then they get auctioned off. I already managed to build their confidence in me and pet them without them biting me. I also like feeding them by hand, even though I nearly get bitten, but I like a good challenge!!

Since me and the horses became quite close, I decided to name them:
-black stallion: used to be Diablo (devil) but I changed it to Knight;
-black and white stallion: Skyler;
-black and white mare: Mimi;
-Little black and white boy horse/pony: Lexi

I love them to bits, I even visit them in cold, rainy days, just to see and feed them!

Hello, my name is Di and I am 15! I am 1 million percent horse crazy and especially love Thoroughbreds. I plan to get a jockey apprenticeship next year, or at least work as a trackwork rider.

Thoroughbreds are sacred to me as Phar Lap and Sunline, both from my country, died tragically when they should not have, and I am excited about going to Heaven to ride them! (But that won't be for a long while :p) So what else about me? My horse, Felix, is amazing and I love him so much!

I am HorseCrazy for the simple reason that God could not have created a more spectacular and beautiful animal as the horse. My title is Bay of Horses because that is the name of the novel I am writing, hopefully to be published at the end of next year. That's all for now!

Happy Horsing,
Di

Best Ever!

by Elisabeth
(Sagle, Idaho)

This is Zues. He is an eight year old buckskin.

This is Zues. He is an eight year old buckskin.

My horse life began in 2006. I was four years old and my dad worked at a camp as water front director. But my best friends were the wranglers. I did pony rides every day that I could because the rule was I could ride by myself until I was eight. Now that was upsetting! So when I was seven, even if I was still to young, I went on trail rides. They let me. But I was aloud to as long as I kept my age a secret. Didn't do very well. Any way,I loved horses.

When I was eleven, I "worked" up at the horse barn for two days a week. Well, really I helped. I wasn't being paid. But on the last day, one of the wranglers(my best friend Erika A.),taught me how to lope. It was scary, awesome, and fun. She was awesome. Next, after I can lope pretty good, I want to be in the rodeo they do every week. Also I want to jump.

When I was helping up there, I got to watch her train Zues. Zues is really her horse but he's really gentle. And Stormy her other horse, I got to ride. Laural, is another wrangler. She's my second best friend, loved Stormy. But, so do I. She's beautiful. Especially when she lopes. Her mane and tail fly back and she's gorgeous.

I'll keep updating more about my horse experiences. They'll all be under Best Ever! so don't be afraid to try new things. they turn out to be awesome!!!!

I LUV HORSES! (My first day of horse riding)

by Rhiannon
(United Kingdom)

I'm totally horse crazy because today was my first day of horse riding! I rode on this beautiful horse called George.

Now, George is a really cool horse, lazy, but cool. He is that lazy, he wouldn't even attempt to jump over a jump about five inches tall, he basically just walked around the posts and he wouldn't move.

I, personally did very well on my first day. I was really scared and didn't know anybody there. (Apart from my friends, friend called Katie). But when I got on the horse and sat on him for a while, I loved it! And when we began to trot around the paddock, which I was really nervous about, became really fun!

So if anybody is starting horse riding, and is very nervous, don't be afraid because it gets really easy and you really get used to it! I can't wait to go on Saturday. Gotta get up early too because we are leaving at 10am! I'm staying for two hours, too.

See you HorsecrazygirlZ!

Can you help identify a horse movie for me?

Hello!

My name is Eva, and I was hoping you could maybe help identify a horse movie for me. The problem is, I watched it about fifteen years ago when I was quite young... and there is really only a few scenes that have stayed with me - and I'm not even 100% sure it was from the same film, but I will do my best to describe it.

As I remember, the story is about a horse (a racehorse perhaps?) and a girl who rides him/her... there are scenes with them riding in large open grass fields, and also some hurdles? These are hazy...

But the scene that has stayed with me is: at one point, the horse and the girl are separated, the horse is on a train? or a horse trailer? and as they are saying goodbye, the girl starts to cry... and so does her horse... and the tears running down the horse's face have been etched in my memory... and I'd love to watch the film again but I have NO idea which one it is... I don't know if this is enough for you to go on... but if you could help me I would be really grateful!

Thanks in advance for your help!!! :-)

Cheers,
Eva

Joy's Story

by Joy
(Melbourne Australia)

At the age of 2 my Dad took me to a horse ranch. I was introduced to a horse named Betty. She was a beautiful mahogany bay mare and I liked her a lot. I wouldn't stop cooing and patting her nose!
Since we aren't exactly rich and I have 3, soon to be 4, other siblings, I have never taken riding lessons. I still adored horses and read all kinds of books. I kept begging Mom and Dad to let me have a trail ride.

Then, on my 10th birthday, it happened. A few friends and myself went to a riding ranch and I got on a horse for the first time. A celebrity horse at that! His name was Flicka. He was the birthday horse and he had starred in the Saddle Club! He was a sweet palomino, (he had a different name in the show,) with a smooth, plodding step. I had never ridden before but I insisted I didn't need any help. I didn't fall off and I did better then one of my friends who had a horse!

After that I began model horse collecting. I collect Breyer and some German brand. My collection amounts to 52 models! I was thrilled in grade five and six, (this 2010) that we were going to another ranch. The first time I rode a spirited young chestnut named Charisma. I passed for an experienced rider! The next year I rode another horse called Candy. She was quite a perky horse and her attitude matched my mood. During a training course, I performed my first jump. Charisma was being ridden in front of me ad she knocked over the stepping thing. A man walked over to pick it up. I lent forward the way I had seen on horse talk and Candy took the cue. She cleared the bar!

I have loved horses ever since.

You Don't Have to Own a Horse to be Horse Crazy

by Alexee
(Petersburg, WV, USA)

I'm horse crazy because I have a friend who owns 3 barns full of horses. I visit there a lot to go horseback riding with her. It's really fun and you get to make a special bond along the way.

My favorite horse is Sundance, she is a Throughbred and is Dun color. She is gentle as a daisy.

And that's why I'm horse crazy.

rosie

rosie

i have always loved horses ever since i can remember. i started riding at a riding in school when i was seven and i was there for 4 years but there was a downside about the riding school all they ever taught me was trot for the whole 4 years so i left and i hardly ever rode again till about 13 month after i left the school.

my mamm decided that i was ready for my own horse so we started to look for one. and the first horse we went to look at was a 8 month old filly and straight away we knew it was the right one as i had look after the mare and foal before. she was the best ever but sadly a year later we were forced to sell her as there was a lot of trouble caused by people on my livery yard and i was getting blamed for things i didn't do so my mam and dad decide having horses wasn't the right thing for but i knew it was i tried everything to keep her but it failed.

so i tried to show my mam i was ready to have my own and it finally work around 10 month ago when i got rosie the Norwegian fjord and then my mam realised that selling the filly was a wrong decision and she has always regretted it. i know have rosie for ever she's the best horse u could ever have apart from the filly lucy i owned and i will never forget her i will always love horses and rosie and lucy. im horse crazy lol

The horse shown isn't mine but it looks like her.

When I was five I always wanted a horse. So I went to ask my dad and he told me I could when we got land. Every day when I saw a horse I imagined having my own. I waited seven years for a horse and now I have one. She is a buckskin grulo Mustang Quarter Horse and she is beautiful. Although I might have to give her up because she bucked me off. (She's not completely broken yet). My neighbor gave me her for free. I can't wait until she is completely broken.

Riding = Determination

by Megan

I am "horsecrazy" because when you're riding you can't just sit there and hope you're getting better. You have to MAKE it happen. I am "horsecrazy" because you have to work hard and practice like crazy both on the horse and off(exercise). I'm crazy about horses because when you have finished your work you feel like you've accomplished something and you know your work has not been in vain. I am "horsecrazy" because a horse was made by God and it seems like he put the creature on the earth for the race of man... AND woman! :D I am "horsecrazy" because God made me that way!

Love for horses

by Claire
(USA Sault Ste. Marie Michigan)

me and miranda

me and miranda

I love horses, they are my favorite animal. I have two horses one named Miranda and the other Juliet.

I ride Miranda when I get to see her, she is my best friend she means the world to me. I got her for my 13th birthday from my dad's cousin because she knew how much I love horses.

There is not one horse I will call ugly, no matter what shape color or size they are all amazing and beautiful to me, nothing will change my mind about that.

Also my best ride was when I got to ride my horse bareback, most people say it would hurt the first time but for me I was born to ride horses so it didn't hurt me.

By the way, the first time I rode a horse was in 2009 - the year before I got my heart transplant. The horse I rode was named Lazerbeam. He was a very big and sweet horse he fell in love with me when I met him.

I still ride him, he is a special horse to me and I'm special to him. My dad is letting me take riding lessons because he wants me to get better at riding even though I'm already very good at it.

Horses are my true love nothing beats them. They are the most beautiful animals in the world, I have wanted one since I was born and now I have Miranda. And I'm glad because me and her bond like Secretariat and his owner in the movie.

Miranda and I are like one, we are the most amazing best friends you will find in a girl and her horse. Her and I are ONE and nothing will ever change that.

I love all horses no matter what they look like they are all beautiful and amazing.

IM HORSECRAZY AND I LOVE HORSES AND PONIES

by Sarah
(Dundien, NZ)

I love a pony called dancer in my kidz kartz club. I had to do a 3 day course and I went to dancer and grow to love her.

My best ride ever was when I was riding dancer in a cart and I trotted the whole way until I got near the finish! I galloped but just before the finish I pulled her back up and trotted over the finish and I won.

I went on the computer at my house and it came up with some cute horse and pony photos. I go to kidz kartz on Wednesday but its getting too cold now because of its winter and its too dark.

My Life

by TG
(USA)

Hi, I'm TG and my life is about God, family, and of course, horses! My faith life was made stronger thanks to my school, my church, and my parents and I will thank them for the rest of my life! Because of them, I will live eternally and if you don't believe that Jesus Christ died for you on the cross, believe now! HE DIED FOR YOU, WHY NOT LIVE FOR HIM?

Okay, enough of that, now, family, my family is very supportive of what I do, so I have to thank them for giving up many days and nights for me to succeed in my horse life. I am the oldest of four siblings, so yeah, it can be a struggle when things need to be done, and believe me, there's lots to do! We have a dog, a couple barn cats, two horses, about thirty cows, and nine 4-H pigs! As for my horses, my Arabian show mare is named MSU Summer Storm and I have a pinto pony named Dolly!

That's all!

This is Tucker, my dad is making him picture perfect!

Hi, I am Alley. I am 13 years old and I have been riding since I was 4. My mom and dad own a large barn with 18 morgan horses and 1 welsh cob pony. My mom is a trainer and gives lessons with my help, my dad is a farrier. We have 6 borders right now, 2 adults and my best friends Gabby, Bob, Chey, and Rachel.

I own 3 horses, Tucker, Buzzy, and Shakey the pony. I ride Tucker saddleseat and we are always pretty successful at shows, I also drive him. I ride shakey saddleseat too, we do some of the smaller shows. I only got Buzzy 3 monthes ago and I am training him western, who know if I'll get to show him but he is doing really well. I ride huntseat, western, saddleseat, and I drive.

I have done a little jumping but it isn't really my thing. Something kind of funny about me is I have fallen off 17 times! I guess that's what happens when your training little 3 year old morgans and it only makes you a better rider. I have only really hurt myself once and sometimes I land on my feet, it is not a big deal to me anymore.

I love living at the barn, but I hate graing at 6:30 right before school. I have been teaching my 5 year old sister to ride and, of course, she loves it. It all seems strange but this is totally my horse crazy life!!

I can't live without horses (I would die!)

by Kaitlin

Hi! I'm 12 and I'm in love with horse. My room as a black horse on a beach. I really love to ride and even be around horses!

TRUTH~ I told my friend I would come out to her barn in Folsom one weekend and clean the paddocks and stalls if that is all I could do all weekend.

I just love horse smell and doing things that deal with horses even mucking!

FALSE~ I can live for the rest of my life without riding a horse.

I really can't wait til I am old enough to just lease my own horse! I mean I could now, but it costs too much. I go to a horse camp once a month, but I couldn't this month. I was too busy:( I can't wait til I go back. I will try to get some pics to upload.

Horse Ride In Equador

by Sunny
(Port Kelang, Malaysia (The World is my Home))

I love horses because they are beautiful, intelligent animals that listen when you tell them things. They will never give away a secret (except perhaps to another horse!)

Although I haven't had much time around horses, (Since I live on a boat,) they have always been my favorite animal, even though my brothers are scared of them because they are big animals and have the power to seriously injure you, and I trust them.

One adventure I had with horses was when we were in Equador. It was probably my second experience with horses, I was around eight years old. My younger brother was too young so my dad stayed with him. So my mom, older sister, two older brothers and I all got to ride horses galloping up the side of a mountain on a road with no railings. Unfortunately, since I was young I didn't get to ride by myself.

When we reached where the Spanish guys wanted to take us we had lunch. The view was beautiful. After having lunch we headed back down. This time I got to ride by myself, and I was in the lead (actually for both times..)

My Sad Horse Crazy Life

by Celina
(Canada)

I am so completely horse crazy because they are my life!

I knew a horse named Lina. She got to old and had to leave the stable. And the good thing is, she was not put down she just went to a retirement home to live.

She was the horse I used to ride.
She taught me all I know.
I wish she was here still.
I miss here a lot sometimes I cry when I think about her.

I practically owned her because everybody else was scared of her and she would only trust me.
But now she`s gone and I don't know what to do.

Please comment with either something to help me get over her or about anything.

Love to the !!!Horses!!!

Impossible Love

At my riding school, there are some gorgeous horses. A couple of week's before i went on horse camp, my riding teacher put me down for having a pony called ben. He was a dream. His color wasn't flashy, just dark bay, but i loved him.

At pony camp, i had to share ben with someone else. But i got to ride him at the show, and we came second in the walk trot canter race. We also came 6th in tack and turnout. Yay us!

Sadly, ben is on loan, so i never get to see him.

I love you ben.

I LOVE gypsie vanners!

I LOVE gypsie vanners!

I LOVE horses! I love wolves too! Mostly horses! I trail ride all 4 gaits at a place called Scooner Valley Stables. It is really fun! Just make sure your stirrups feel good because the first time I went my foot kept slipping out because the right stirrup was longer then the other.

So I was like bouncing around trying to get my foot back in there! You get to stop at a little stream and let your horse get a drink. If you haven't galloped much before it is a little scary at first! But you just hold o and wait till you slow down! Country girls grip and ride, city girls slip and slide! I love to play a horse game called Howrse on the computer!

My favorite horse breed is the gypsie vanner and I like the Marwari too! My favorite time to ride horses is in the winter. The horses look so beautiful in the white sparkly thick snow! I take riding lessons at S and H Stables in Indiana! It is so fun! I am up to cantering! I have been on a horse that bucked twice but I went to 2-point and held onto it's mane.

The horse will canter really nicely around the arena just she doesn't like to on the lunge rope! That's when she bucked! I don't have my own horse yet but my mom said I should have a horse by when I'm 15 years old. I can't wait! My second grade teacher owns a horse farm. She doesn't own the horses she just boards them. She owns one of them though! She is my favorite teacher!

My Love of Horses

Hi! I have not always been horsecrazy. At one point in my life I was actually scared of horses. That was until I read a series of books called Canterwood Crest.

I went to bed one night and i woke up absolutely crazy about horses. My cousin is also horse crazy although she has been horse crazy a lot longer then me. My favorite type of horses would have to be the Gypsy Vanners (also Known as Tinker, Gypsy Cob, Irish Cob)I also like the Frisians.

What i like about them is how they are black with beautiful manes and a little bit of feathers. They look so regal to me. My Favorite type of pony is the Scottish Highland pony. They are sooo cute.

My Auntie has a dozen horses my favorite is her newest one Nash. He is a silver Grullea. He has a coat that looks like a moose. I think it is his best feature. He is 2 years old and was born April 24. He loves to give people hugs. Cooper is a quarter horse. My auntie has raised him since he was a Colt. He is very much a mama's boy he does not like to be to far from my Auntie.

Tosh i am pretty sure is a quarter horse to. He was also raised from a colt by my auntie to. Spooks is an appaloosa and he is one of my cousin's horse. He has a ticklish spot under his belly so when you ride him you have to wear a helmet. She also has Steeler i do not know to much about him. I do not remember all the rest of the horses names

My Favorite coat for Gypsy Vanners is Piebald. For Frisians it is pure black. For Arabians I think a dun color looks nice.

I would Like it if when you comment you let me know about your favorite type of horse, pony, color of coat and movie that has horses in it.

I like Hidalgo, Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron, Black Beauty, Secretariat, War horse, Flicka 1 and 2, Miracle of the White stallion. This is why i love horses.

A Mustang in a World of First Borns

by Jordan
(IL)

When I was about 3 or 4, I thought a horse was some type of vegetable. But, when I hit the age of 5 or 6, my cousin and I were HORSE CRAZY!

Since I was 1 years old my family has been going up to Madison, Wisconsin (longest drive ever!) and my cousin and I would always talk about horses, play with our horses, watch movies with horses... etc. Anyway we just loved horses to death.

I always go horseback riding when I have the chance. I don't actually have a horse, but I have made friends with a lot of horses. My favorite thing to do is canter, it is sooo.... fun! The first time I ever did it I was just cracking up. I have never galloped before, but I hope to sometime.

When my grandma was a little girl her father bought her two ponies, tipsy, and I can't remember the other ones name. Whenever she rode tipsy, he would walk about three feet, then he would just roll over and tip you off! ha ha ha!

My grandma always takes me horseback riding, I've taken tons of lessons. I have also done a lot of trail riding in Wisconsin.

My favorite type of horse is a mustang. I love them because there free spirited, and crazy. I can relate to mustangs because, I'm a second born drowning in a world of first borns. My brother, mom, and dad, are all first borns. Oh and my cousin is too. I'm the only one in my family that likes to have fun, but I love my family anyway.

I would always dream of living out in Wyoming and have a huge ranch with tons of horses. Now that I'm older I realize that I was kinda fantasizing a little too much there. So, now my practical dream is to live out somewhere in the country of Illinois or Indiana and own a few horses.

Sometimes it can be hard for me because I'm older now and I am opened to a world of different things. A lot of times I forget about horses, but I always jump right back on the saddle again, because inside me I will always, forever be in love with horses.

Horses: What My Entire Life is About

by Izzy
(USA)

My name is Izzy. It's really Isabella, but I prefer Izzy or Isa. I had never owned a horse. I always wished for one. I pretend to own horses through Breyer. I LOOOOOVE their collector horses and models. The stable mates are my favorite. I have them sitting next to me right now!

Anyway, my uncle used to own horses, until he divorced his wife. But that didn't change a thing. Horses are still a big part of my life. I draw them, play with them, and play online games with them. I guess that even though I don't own a horse, I still am in touch with them. In fact in the future, my mom is taking me to her friend's horse ranch! Eeeeeeeeppppp! Can't wait.

Look for my drawings, and stories on this site!

HORSES ROCK LOL

by Natasha
(UK)

Hiya people like me lol (horse lovers) I go horse riding at a place in UK. I am riding at my uncle's place because he has another horse, yey I cant wait.

I love horses because they are so beautiful and elegant I love how they move with there necks arched and I love cantering it is the best ever well galloping is probably but hey, I wouldn't know because I haven't galloped yet!!! But hopefully I will soon.

The picture uploaded isn't my horse I found it off the internet but yeah I can't get a horse, but I would love to have one. I love horses that is why I am so excited about riding my uncle and auntie's horse, its going to be great I might even try to gallop I hope I get to!!

Hey if you aren't allowed to get a horse ask your parents if they will let you have lessons instead, for those of you who don't know, you don't need your own horse to have lessons you ride the stables horses but everyone probably knows this because your horse lovers!!

I had to keep asking my mum and dad if I could have lessons an they said no so I looked up on the internet cheap horse riding lessons and came up with the one I go to now. We pay 10 pounds for half an hour lesson.

I have now been riding for 3 whole years and it has been great fun!! Yey to horses for bringing your glory to this world!! Horses are great!!! Bye xx

Dreaming of a Horse

by Francesca
(Colchester, Essex)

I first rode an adorable palomino pony when I was 7, I didn't get to ride much because of school and stuff at weekends. We moved into town and had a tiny garden and there was no hope of having a horse now. I'm still living in the house with the tiny garden and hope we move to a place with miles and miles of grass, well at least a few fields.

My dream pony is a bay welsh, but that dream has a long way to go until its reality. In the meantime I've been pleading my mum and dad to arrange riding lessons for me, but even that hasn't gone to well. I'm still a pro at knowing things about horses and ponies so if you have any questions, comment!

Horse Poem (as requested)

by Amy

Imagine that you know a girl that goes to fashion shows and wears makeup. And you ask her, "Do you own or loan a horse?" And they ask you.........

What is a horse?

What is a horse?
A horse has eyes as dainty as a mink.
The grace is interrupted merely by a blink.
A horse is beauty.

What is a horse?
A horse is a tree in a storm that never goes down.
A horse is a weathered rock that stays around.
A horse is ancient.

What is a horse?
A horse waltzes like breeze over rivers.
She curves and leaps like rain shivers.
A horse is a marionette.

What is a horse?
A horse is determination, that never stops flowing.
A horse is fondness, that never stops growing.
A horse is poetic power.

The horse life of me!

I guess I was born horse crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! For a little bit my favorite animal was a elephant. but now it is horses of course!!!!!

I go to a riding place and I have rode 2 horses there already. I have ridden Marie, and she is a wonderful pony!!! And the last time I went I rode Ozzie (or Ozzy) and he is the same. They are both very nice and they never buck.

The next time I go I will try to ride Angel (her other name is blue - eyed angel), who is a full size horse and i have not rode a full size horse!!!!!! She has blue eyes, that's how she got her name. I look at her in her stall when I go there. And I will be brave, a full size horse is sort of scary for me! I like ponies that are my size.

That is pretty much it. Goodbye readers!!!!

HorseCrazy Sienna

by Sienna
(Nowra hill, Nsw, Australia )

I started being horse crazy by my best friend Lily! I went over her house and she has 3 horses I rode a 16 hh gelding standard bred named Chester!! He is such a lovely horse now. Just about every time I go to lily's house I ride Chester!!

The very first time that I ever rode was when I was 4. I think it was a dapple grey or something like that and I got lead at a walk and I tried a trot but it was too bumpy.

Once, I made a bad decision. I went to tickle the horse's tummy but I got to its flank and he almost trod on me!!

So I am currently 12 turning 13, I am about 5ft 10inchs. In my spare time I like to see if I can go riding at Lily's or I do some sowing and drawing. As you can tell I don't have one but I'm dying for one!!!

This is a photo of me and a pony called Gryphon

I absolutely LOVE horses!!

I don't have a horse or pony but I ride at an AMAZING riding school even though it's about 45mins away from where I live but it's totally worth it I ride every Saturday and during the week I always look forward to horse-riding as I ride not only well trained but they look adorable don't all horses and ponies?

At the moment I can walk, trot, canter and do a bit of jumping. I also love the thrill of jumping as some ponies like to leap over but some also just trot over the jumps but trotting and leaping ponies are both just as fun as each other.

I also ride in a group of about 4-5 I know that's a small group but it's just as fun if not more fun riding in a small group than it is in a large group.

I've been riding for about 2 and a half to 3 years and those years have been great even though I've fallen off twice but I always forgive the pony and get right back on.

I hope everyone continues their love of horses for many many years to come!

Gallops Forever

by Megan T
(Pennsylvania, USA)

This is Teddy!

This is Teddy!

I absolutely love horses and forever will. Ever since I first got a small plush horse from my grandmother I have been horse crazy. I ride an American Paint horse named Ted. His show name is An Obvious Bear (cute huh?). I ride him in lessons and trail rides at the farm were I take lessons and I also compete with him in dressage shows. He's really lazy in the ring but super energetic on the trail. Even for the smallest twigs he wants to canter and leap over them! I love him all the same.

I love horses so much. I feel as if I have this special connection with them like I know exactly what they're thinking and they know what I'm thinking. One of my biggest obsessions with horses is how they move. The are so muscular and yet so gentle and lithe when they move. They can be fierce and gentle at the same time. It's really magical. Hope you like reading what I have to say about horses!

The Miracle Horse

by Julia
(United States)

Dash

Dash

Horses are my favorite animals. I have had a horse since I was seven, and my horse’s name is Dash. He is a light bay American Quarter Horse. He has a light brown body with black mane and tail with red and blond streaks in them. Dash is nineteen years old, but I got him when he was around fifteen years old.

Dash was born in nineteen ninety three on April second. At first, I thought his birthday was on April first, but then we took another look at his papers and found out it was April second. When we got Dash, he was great to ride, but as the years went by, he got worse. And finally, I became too scared to ride him.

One night, my mom got a call from our farrier. From what I could hear, there was a horse that was a really sweet, great to ride mare. She was around twenty or twenty five years old. The best part about it though was that she was free! My mom said yes. She then told me that we would get the mare on Wednesday. I couldn’t wait!

The day was Sunday when we got the call about her. All week, I was trying to come up with what this horse would look like. One time, my mom called me and told me what she was going to look like. She was a dark bay American Quarter Horse.

The mare arrived on Wednesday like we were told. I can honestly say I didn’t think she was the prettiest horse I had ever seen. She had a wide Quarter Horse head with what looked almost like a Thoroughbred body. But, I still liked her the same. I can also say that I was upset when my mom told me I would be riding the mare instead of riding Dash.

I loved Dash and I was hoping mom would ride the new horse and I would ride Dash, even though he wasn’t very well behaved. But, the first time I rode the mare, I knew I was wrong to think that. She was perfect! Everything I asked, she did it. I still wasn’t ready to trot though. I figured though, if the mare and I worked really hard, we might be able to show in the horse show in July. I had never shown before, but I had always wanted to.

I continued to work with and ride the mare, and finally, I decided to trot. I gave her a tap with my heels, “Trot!” I said firmly. She lurched forward into a nice, comfortable trot. I remembered that I hadn’t trotted on a horse for a long time, so I needed to get used to sitting to the trot, because if you post in the western show, you have a smaller chance of winning. So, for about two and a half months, we trained and trained and trained.

We trotted, we walked, we stopped, and we backed up. We even practiced leading. The mare loved it when I talked to her, and she always behaved perfectly when I did. Not for one moment was I ever scared on that wonderful horse. I loved her with all my heart. One day though, she got very sick.

On the night before my last day of school, I rode the mare. She felt very stiff and tense under the saddle, and that made me very nervous. She spooked a couple of times, which wasn’t very normal. I asked my mom, but she thought the mare looked okay. But I wasn’t convinced.

The next day I went outside to check on the horses, and the mare was on her side, which wasn’t normal at all. I yelled at her to get up, and she swung into a fast lope, so I figured she was fine. But when I went back outside, she was practically upside down. I was so scared. Luckily, my mom said that she would get a vet out here as soon as she could, but I still had to go to school since it was my last day.

I asked her, “Do you think she will die before I get home?” I figured she had colic, and I knew that could be a fatal disease. “No, I don’t think so,” she said.

When my brother showed up to pick me up from school instead of my mom, I got very nervous. After I asked him why he picked me up, he told me shocking news. “Your horse has what you thought she had,” he said. “Colic?” I nervously asked. “Yeah, I think so,” he said. I almost burst out crying right in the middle of the hallway. “Let’s just go home,” I said.

When we drove in the driveway, I felt a chill run up my spine. The mare was lying on her side. I knew horses with colic had to be walked to prevent the stomach from twisting, so I wondered why someone wasn’t walking her. I jumped out of the car and quickly ran over to my mom. “Is she dead? Why isn’t someone walking her?” I asked. “No, she isn’t dead, she needed a break from walking. We have been walking her for hours,” she told me. As soon as she told me that, I immediately ran into the pasture to see the mare. She was flat on her side, sweating like crazy.

Sadly, it was a hot May day, and that didn’t help. The vet said that if the horse’s stomach was bloated, it didn’t have a chance, so I quickly checked to make sure the stomach wasn’t bloated. Luckily, it wasn’t.

Now, that mare hadn’t eaten the whole time. So, my mom called the vet. I could only hear my mom’s side of the conversation, and just what I could hear almost made me cry. When my mom got off the phone, she told me that if the mare didn’t eat or drink soon, her chances of surviving were slim. There, I actually cried.

We went out there to walk the mare. My mom started out walking her, but she couldn’t get her to move, so I gave it a try. As soon as I grabbed the lead rope and started walking, the mare perked up a tiny bit and somewhat willingly followed me. I almost started crying, because that touched my heart that she loved me as much as I loved her. Once, there was the nerve wracking moment when the mare’s leg seemed to go out from under her and she almost fell down. Then, it started twitching like crazy, seeming to have a muscle spasm. Finally, she improved. As soon as we put her back in the pen, the mare took a long, needed drink. I was overjoyed. For the rest of the day, until it was time to go to my dad’s house, I sat with the mare and talked with her and watched her. I wanted to stay, but I knew I couldn’t. I also knew my mom would take great care of her.
The next morning I kept asking my mom how the mare was, but she didn’t answer my texts. Knock, knock, knock! I opened the door and my mom was there. She looked like she had been crying. “She died, didn’t she?” I sobbed. She nodded, and I burst out crying.
That mare was one of the best horses I have ever known. And, in case you were wondering, that mare had a name……and it was Tackit.

Breighana and Sonny

by Breighana
(Brighton ON, Canada)

I am dedicating this website too my horse Sonny (Dreaming On A Star).

And his name says it all! I've only OWNED Sonny for two weeks, but he was my grandpa's horse his whole life.

Sonny was born at Robmar Farms (at my grandpas farm) and is now 4. Many people think he is ugly, but I think he is the most beautiful horse in the world! Sonny is a red roan blanket appaloosa gelding. his whole body is white except for his whithers up. His legs are white with a red diamond shape on both front knees. When he runs, it looks like he's on fire, it's sooo cool!

He is sooo easy to ride (for a green horse), and he is trained english and western. Soon I'm going to teach him to jump and barrel race! Right now all he knows are the basics.(walk, trot, canter, I'm not sure if he knows gallop).

Some really cool things about him are: he knows how to play tug of war, he knows how to play tag and he licks people! He's also the sweetest horse in his herd(he's so sweet he gets bullied for it). He sometimes grabs a lead or shed halter in the field and when he's with me and swing it around like a lasso, some times he has so much fun he rears and runs around with it still in his mouth, swinging crazily.:)

Lightening

I was always horse crazy. My first horse name was Lightning. I got her when I was six. The first time I seen her in my aunt's pasture with her filly. I wanted her and her filly really bad.

One night I prayed to GOD that I could have her and her filly. That's where it started. My aunt said that I could take care of her while she was weaning her. Then one day after church she told me I could keep her.

I loved her ever since!

About Me and Why I Love Horses

by Carolyn
(USA)

I love horses because they don't judge you. They are fun to ride, and you can be free on the back of a horse. They're always ready to carry you through hard times. Horses are there, if you want to cry on their shoulder.

I ride a Quarter Horse named Hobbi, short for his show name, Little Hobinaro. We were just in a show, and we did pretty well. First place in barrels, second in halter, and fourth in western pleasure. Hobbi isn't my horse, I ride him and take lessons with him. He's the best horse in the world!!!!

My Horses!

by Jessica
(Alaska, USA)

Hi, my name is Jessica (I posted this on 1/1/2011), and I must say, I am totally, completely, 100% horse crazy! I have owned 8 horses in the past; Lady, Flicka, Beauty, Ginger, Ace, Belle, Classy and Zenyatta. I want to tell you a little about how they got their names and about them :).

We got Lady (she is a purebred Arabian), when I was around 7 (I am now 14). Her name before was Clara, which did not fit her at all. She was very ''proper'' for a horse (or well-behaved), and she was white (gray if your technical), so that made sense of the "Lady" part. Her show name is Lady Jane, and Jane comes from my grandma's favorite author as a child (and still her favorite author), Jane Austen. So, that is Lady's name story. We still have Lady, and she is about 15 years old and used for the horse camps I do in the summer and winter breaks.

We got Flicka (she's a Mustang) in the summer of 2010. She was 2 when we got her, and full of spirit and quite temperamental. We got her to be my next show horse. Her name before was Andrew, which, I mean, she is a filly, and Andrew's a boy name, right?!?! So, of course we had to switch. My mom was horse crazy growing up, and her favorite book we watched the movie Flicka shortly after we got her. She reminded us of the horse in the movie, so that name came and stuck to her. We still have Flicka and she is my current show horse, and she is 3 years old.

We got Beauty in the summer of 2001. She was a year old, and very quiet and calm. She was unnamed, and we are fans of the Disney classics, especially Beauty And The Beast, so we decided to name her Beauty. She was a black Thoroughbred after all (gorgeous!) We do not still have Beauty, she died sadly in the November of 2010 :''(. She died of a rare sickness when she was 9 (quite young). It broke my heart, and I still remember that day.

Ginger was a rescue Clydesdale/Pinto/Morgan/Arabian cross. She was a rescue, and we rescued her from a rescue ranch that didn't even want her in April 1999. We had no idea for a name for her, so we looked up names on the internet and the only one we liked for her was Ginger. After all, she does have a fiery red temper. We sold Ginger to my aunt a few years back, and she has a very happy home there.

Ace was different. He was the only boy horse we ever owned, and he had anger issues, for a horse! He came from an unhappy home of a girl that once claimed to love him but then a few years later, looking after him became a chore. We bought him a few days after my grandpa died, and my grandpa was called Ace by his friends, so we called our Ace Ace. Ace was very angry while he was here, and kept attacking our mares. We sold him to a professional dressage trainer and he now is an excellent dressage rider and I believe a girl leases him and they are very happy (glad for him)!

Belle was, perhaps the best horse we ever owned (and still do own). A few days before Beauty died, she foaled to a pretty filly, a rich chestnut color. It only made sense to name Belle after something honoring her mother, and Belle is the name of the girl in Beauty and the Beast, so it stuck. We still do have Belle, and as for being an orphan, she is doing great.

Classy was different as well. We bought her at a sales block in December 2010. She wasn't skinny, she was actually very fat, but it wasn't because she was well-fed. and a halter was nearly digging into her skin. She kept rearing and galloping, anybody that stopped to see the black filly when she was being calm passed on. So, we bought Classy, and she reminded us of a horse in a classic movie- wild, high strung, etc. And we would never name her Classic, so we called her Classic. Her show name, though, is Classic Memory. She's a black Thoroughbred, and is a 4 year old mare.

We found out Classy was fat because she was pregnant! She foaled on January 1, 2011. It was a big surprise for us, and what an amazing New Year's Day present she was! She is black like her mom, and looks like a mixture of Eight Belles/Zenyatta, and her show name is going to be Zenyatta's Belles.

Horse Whisper

Well every time I go anywhere and I see horse i drop everything I'm holding or stop talking to to look at the gorgous animals!! I have one of my own she is crazy but i can't dream of ever selling her even though I'm getting too big for her!! Many people told me it would me easy to have one horse.....they were wrong ....

I had to deal with a lot of trouble since I got Belle(my pony) I've had to drop after-school activites as well.... but whenever I'm upset I run out to Belle and I tell her what's bothering me and she makes it better!!!

The first time I jumped I loved it !!! It felt like I was flying in the air!! Belle made it all possible...You see shed buck and rear and do all sorts of things to me when i was on her. But without her I wouldn't be able to ride and I owe it all to Belle !! THE BESTEST HORSE IN THE WORLD!!!!!!

Horse & Pony Things I love And Am Sad About

by Cynthia
(Mocksville,NC,US)

I am horse and pony crazy because the first time I saw a horse I fell in love in an instant. I mean who wouldn't fall in love with a horse or pony?! I don't have a horse but I have a room that is full of horse toy statues, posters, and lots more! I have books,DS and computer games. I also have dog and cat things but not as much as my horse and pony things I have.

The first horse I had ever seen was a Palomino horse in Mexico. When ever I saw other horses on parades or people riding them I would squeal in delight.

I watch a show called Animal Cops Houston, Detroit, Phoenix and all the other shows, I saw cruelty and neglect. I got so mad that I began to cry and I also got mad. I saw Horses, Ponies, Dogs, and Cats (my favorite animals on Earth) half starved to death that they almost can't stand up anymore. Let's all join together and fight for the sake of the animals lives. Donate money to the nearest Humane Society in your area. I would give up my life to save all the animals in the world that are in suffering either cruelty, neglect or any other thing. Let's help our animal live!!!!

He's a 20 year old welsh section b, we got him from one of my friends at school, he named him berger, but I like charlie better.

Next summer or the year after that, I'm getting an 8 yr old quarter horse (around 8 yrs anyways :) I love chuck to pieces, and he needs a buddy!!!

I am definitely horse crazy! I've only had chuck about 4 months, and I've turned 2 friends horse crazy that had never even rode a horse before.

HorseCrazy People

(HKSAR)

I absolutely adore horses because I think that they understand us humans better than we understand ourselves. When I am near a horse, I can feel the love they give us and how much they obey us: not because they know we're better, just because they adore us. Plus, I feel awesome when I ride. You are suddenly one with your horse, moving together, giving the same signals, feeling the same things. That's why I like horses!!! <3 horses

My horse life (so far)

by Horse-Crazy Girl
(BC Canada)

One day when I was driving home with my mom we heard a contest for a horse riding camp. I told my mom I might like it so we signed up and lost. But then I went horse crazy.

I found horse games to play and I would play them all the time. One day I saw an advertisement for a horse riding camp at a local stable. But when we got ready to sign up every spot was taken. But my mom said I could have weekly lessons so we went to the stable and I rode an Arabian, flea-bitten Arabian named Abe.

On that day I walked and trotted. This was the first day I rode a horse. I get lessons every week and I've been riding for three months.

A few weeks ago I cantered and my last lesson I did my first jump ever on a horse. I ride a horse named Moter who is brown. I really want my own horse.

I hoped you liked it. If you want an update just comment and tell me so.

Absolutely Horse Obsessed!!!

I am absolutely horse mad !!!!!

I ride horses and I absolutely love it. I started riding when I was about 3 or 4 and I have absolutely loved it ever since. Horses have been in my life since I was a baby and even though I did'nt ride them I have had them in my heart and soul all my life.

Horse abuse is like somebody shooting me. It hurts me sooooooooooooooooooooooo much wen I see horse abuse, I mean, horses are gentle, stunning, absolutely beautiful creatures and they have do nothing to harm us. But people still feel the need to go out there and hurt them and it kills me even thinking about it. I would do absolutely anything to stop horse abuse because horses mean the world to me and I would literally die if they weren't in my life.

I hope other people are like me and appreciate the nature of beautiful creatures like horses and I hope that we can together stop horse abuse !!!!!

This is Dallas my baby boy, after my first time riding him

My name is Sam Forster and I'm 14 years old. I have been riding since I was 4 years old,I started riding English and just loved it. Between the ages 4 and 5 I had gotten bucked of by my lesson horse,Princess,3 times. But I kept riding, when I turned 6 the stable is went to shut down so I went somewhere else. That is when I started jumping.

The highest I've jumped is 2.8 feet,I now own a registered palomino paint colt named Dallas. I love him to bits! He has one blue eye and one brown eye. I also have a quarter horse mare named Annie that I barrel race on,she is about 13 and Dallas is turning 3.

This is how horse crazy I am:-).

I am horsecrazy because...

by Ana
(Illinois)

I'm horse crazy because ever since I was old enough to go to the county fair, I have ridden horses around.

When I went to camp, for the first time last summer, I had horse ridding as one of my activities. I have always loved the feel of the horse as I ride it, and I am crazy about horses. I'm also crazy about cats, but that's beside the point.

In school, for the last term I'm doing painting as one of my periodic classes in school, so I'm doing a colt, with a fence behind it and a barn in the back-round. There's a kitten cleaning it's self on the fence.

Everything I do is based around horses and cats. So that is why I'm horsecrazy. It's just natural. I always have loved them, and always will.

My horse Comet<3

My horse Comet<3

Yes I LOVE Horses, all my friends say I am horsecrazy! Sometimes people will even say I am "obsessed" With horses! Well, I think I am truly "obsessed" Haha!

Horses have been a part of me my whole life. When I was 8 I started to take lessons on jumping.
I love to jump! It is a great rush of excitement, even when I'm just practicing. I think jumping horses or barrels are so great, because the horse and rider become one. It's like you both love what you're doing and want to do your best all the time.

I have a horse of my own I got him on September 5th 2010. I haven't had him long but oh my gosh he is a marvelous horse! His name is Comet and he is a registered QH. He is a Palomino and is 8 years old, yes he is a gelding.

Horses to me are beautiful animals. They come in so many colors and are so powerful! Horses can be your best friend and I absolutely LOVE that... A horse can not only be a best friend or something that works for you, they can become you. Some of my friends believe that your horse and kinda "act" like the owner. Horses can be great sport companions!

I love my horse because he loves sports just like me! Comet and I hate taking days off and when we see each other again it's almost so exciting, it's like we are first meeting again.

Horses are my life, passion and world. A world without horses is like a house without bathrooms... Totally would not be good at all Haha!(:

Well I hope you like what I have to say about horses! I hope you share your love about them too! <3

Forever Horse Passion

Me and JJ doing one of the biggest jumps we did together :)

Me and JJ doing one of the biggest jumps we did together :)

I've ALWAYS loved horses, I cant even remember where it started. I wanted to start riding lessons when I was 11, but my mom wont let me. She said the place i wanted to go to was too far and its too dangerous around horses (typical mom's :P) soooo I waited... when I was 13 me and my friends went on a trail ride for a birthday party. I rode a red roan gelding, Bles.

The moment we went out of the ring, he started trotting. I was bouncing all over and laughing and trying to stop at the same time! The ride went well though, until we turned back. Bles is a natural leader, and when he saw he was behind all the other horses he started galloping ! I was shocked! I slipped, but grabbed on and held on 'till he stopped. I was all jittery but enjoyed myself! that was my first time riding and after that I went on 2 other rides on different horses before I started riding lessons.

I'm only riding for a year and a half now. I rode the beginner pony (Billy, a mix bred with some Arabian possibly) only a month. I then went on to Bismark, a palomino quarter horse. Within the 1st month I rode him I already started jumping! at about 5 or 6 months I started riding the one I love most - JJ, a cheeky, 16hh dark bay boerperd gelding. only 7 years old, though was 6 when I started riding him. On him I quickly started doing 1m jumps and dressage. I love him so much even if he does try to fight on the ground with me and gives me a hard time in the saddle.

I might get my own foal soon, but till then I'm happy with riding JJ and Bismark and the stallion on a farm i ride, Rocket. Though I'm always loving every single horse i see, 'cause that's my passion and future.

Merlin

Merlin

I love horses and can't wait for the day to come for my weekly lesson!!! I really like horses because sometimes I feel like they are the only ones who understand and listen to me.

My fave type of pony is either the Cobb or the welsh mountain pony and my fave pony of all time is Merlin (whose picture is above) who is so sweet and kind that I really do not wanna grow out of him!!! I love beach hacks and also show jumping!!!

I first sat on a horse when I was 3 and was visiting my cousins in wales and sat on their pony called Mr. Chips and from then on I made my mum promise to let me go for a riding lesson for every birthday and Christmas as a present!!!

When I was 8 I started going for a riding lesson every second week and when I was 10 every week. I am still going every week as I am not allowed a pony of my own but I go every Saturday to spend 2 hours at the stables and I can start to work there when I am 12!!!

Why i love horses!and how i spend time with them without owning one!

by Rachel
(Monmouthshire)

I'm horse crazy because i love everything about horses!, the way that they move with elegance, the way that they seem so beautiful, and how sweet they are, all the things you can do with them, riding, shows, grooming, etc. And if your like me, a girl who really really really wants a pony but cant afford one, than go to HAPPA, its a rescue centre where you can adopt a pony, horse or donkey for thirty five pounds per year, i know its expensive but you get to groom them and pet them, and you can also visit whenever you want, and all the money goes to towards help to save horses and ponies and donkeys and also to help there upkeep. You can visit there website which is

www.HAPPA.org.uk
or google HAPPA(or horses and ponies protection association!)

Because not only will you get to spend more time with ponies, but you will be making a difference to the world of horses!.

You could also:
Read pony books and magazines(i recommend PONY and horse and pony)
Get a job as a stable hand
Adopt a HAPPA pony, horse or donkey
Go on pony holidays
take riding lessons
Visit pony websites like these!

And also keep a lookout for ads, you never know what might pop up!like maybe someone wants someone to ride their pony, share loan, or buy, there is alos tack, rugs, for sale and also loaning or someone selling their pony!.
Hope that this has given its readers some ideas and please check out HAPPA!.
Love Rachel the pony pal

I love horses sooooooo much!

by Jami
(Edmonton, Alberta)

Well for starters I love all animals especially horses and anything related to horses. Horses are my life. My family can not afford riding lessons so on 3 days I help out at a farm for a few hours and then they give my an hour riding lesson after.

I have always wished for a horse and I have been saving my money for almost 7 years now. I have lots of horse books and read them every chance I get. I have notebooks filled of my plan. Like where to keep the horse and what supplies I need. All i think about is horses all day long.

Want to know one of my terrifing events? Well I was riding for the first time in my life. I was walking the horse slowly and then I decided to ask for a trot. The horse started to trot then canter!!! I was holding on for dear life and then suddenly the horse stopped and I was flinged forward almost falling off! It was soooo scary!!!!!!!

Anyway... this is why I love horses so much.

Horse Crazy Kenzie

by Kenzie
(Missouri)

My name is Mackenzie Vitelli(A.K.A.Kenzie) and I am 12 years old. I live in Camdenton MO and it is a very small town. I don't know exactly why I am horse crazy but I have been my whole life.
When I was 4 I took riding lessons in California. We moved to Missouri when I was 6. My dad's Boss' wife owned horses, and I got started at a Saddle club. Unfortunately it closed down the next year. I have been riding every once in a while. Pretty much whenever someone my family or friends knows someone who owns a horse.
I would love to own a horse ,but I live in a suburb and my 4 cats, one dog and school take up all my time. My grandma owns a big field ,but she is working and doesn't have time either. She has been my horse loving companion.
My family is not a horsey family. I have 4 siblings under 6 so that puts restrictions on my time also. I am content were God has put me though! there used to be a time when I was mad and upset because I couldn't have a horse, but that has changed.
I love this site and hope people will comment! Windcall is one of my friends and she told me about this website. ThankYou!

Well, my dad bought a chestnut Thoroughbred filly from the market yesterday. She is now 3 years old and ready for horse racing. We found a jockey that could ride her and his name is Martin. He's been a jockey for over 10 years!

Isn't the new horse beautiful? We named her Ronnie's Delight.

Cuz, well, we thought it would make a good name!

My Love <3

by Hayley
(Elk River, Minnesota)

*CASPER*

My love for him is never-ending .
His ears, are messaging.
He is my baby boy,
Who fills my heart with joy.
Throwing me off,
It pisses me off,
But I wont go running.
He inspires me to never give up.
I think that he is my luck,
A rabbit's foot.
He’s greater than the greatest.
He loves me,
Even when I'm mean.
When we’re together,
Everything else is forgotten.
I never want to be apart.
Together forever,
You’ll always be in my heart. <3

COO-COO FOR HORSES

by Hannah

When I was really little I would talk about horses non stop. My mom and dad decided to get me a riding lesson. I rode a horse named Paco. He was ginormous. I could barely get on him! He was a bay horse with a black mane and tail. I rode him for a long time.

After about 2 years I switched to a horse named Poco. He is not actually my horse, I just lease him. We are best buds. Now that I am older I don't have as many lessons. But that's because I work at the barn. He is a bay with a black mane and tail too. We do a lot together.

Last summer we did this trail ride called Sally's Ride. You go on it with a lot of other people. At the end everybody cantered to the rest of the trail. The trail ride is at the Marquette County fairgrounds. It is really fun. I'm also in the U.P.Riders 4-H club. Every year we have a 4-H kick-off where all of the 4-H members get together do alot of fun activities.

Poco is a retired speed event horse so he can go pretty fast. Poco's owner is my riding instructor and the funny part is that she always runs Poco in the speed events there. And after she was done I took Poco in the Dizzy Cowboy race and he bolted to the end of the arena were I get off. I ride another horse named Rain. I don't lease her. She is really tall.

Last summer we did the Alger County Fair. I was going to ride Poco but he had a little accident with his eye, so I didn't bring him. I brought Rain.

First we did Horsemanship (I got third ), then we did showmanship (I got 3rd), and last we did walk trot (I got 1st). The next day we did team penning (my team got 1st).

No matter what horse it is I will always love horses.

Isabelle the Horse Lover

by Isabelle
(Marietta, Georgia)

I have always loved horses and had a special place for them in my heart. THey are my favorite animals! They are such sweet, gentle creatures, yet so fun and feisty! I don't ride because my parents can't find a place, or afford it. But one time I went on a field trip to a farm in North Carolina and they had this really sweet horse named Ginger. While other kids played in the creek, played soccer, and held the bunnies, I just sat with Ginger, just petting her and petting her.
My brother says I am obsessed. I play on like, five horse websites and have a poster and a painting of them in my room.
More than half my friends are also horsecrazy!

I am Horsecrazy!

by Alex
(Gloucester Virginia, U.S.A)

Hi! My name is Alex and I'm 12 years old. I'm horse crazy because I have waited almost my whole life to ride horses! I have always dreamed of having a strong, beautiful, white mare named Crystal. I don't know why though. I guess the image of her in my head takes my heart away! I have also been writing a story called, My Beautiful White Mare. It's about a girl who finds this door, that leads to a whole new world. The girl catches a white mare and trains her, but she runs itno trouble when finds another girl in that world as well.

Well, I have done a lot more than that, but I'm just going to stop here :)

Horsie Talk

I am totally horse crazy because I LOVE horses and everything to do with them.

I have only taken lessons for five months and by lesson 2 I knew that riding is my favorite thing in the universe. And I'm good at it too :)

The school horse I ride is named Martie. I have ridden other horses but he is by far my favorite. This week we actually get to move on from the basics and start jumping and dressage! I am so thrilled! I actually get to feel what it is like to be suspended in the air on a 2000 pound horse! (even if it is just for a few seconds).

The funny thing about Martie is he has so many facial expressions. For example a few weeks ago we had a Christmas Gymkhana. When he saw that somebody was going to jump him over a giant blow up Santa you should have seen the look on his face! It was priceless!

I REALLY hope you choose me to have my own website all about my favorite animal in the universe (horses!) and my favorite sport in the universe (horseback riding); so that I can talk to people virtually all of the time that are totally horse crazy just like me :)

But just in case your still not convinced on how totally and utterly horse crazy I really am I have one more thing to say.

I actually like mucking stalls and cleaning tack and all of the dirty jobs. WHY? I like it because it makes the horse I'm doing the things for happy when his stall is clean and it makes riding all the much better when the tack is clean :)

Well that's all I have to say for now but trust me I could talk about horses 24/7 if someone was willing to listen :)

Your horse crazy friend,
Alyssia

Horse Poems

by Ria
(Australia)

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horsey that bends.
My friends all ride warmbloods, I must make amends.
I practice my leg yields, each evenin 'til ten.
So, oh Lord, won't you buy me a horsey that bends.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't buck
I'm tired of trying to land standing up.
I spend all my time, brushing dirt off my butt.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't buck.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't bite.
I count all my fingers and toes every night.
I feel like a carrot, when I'm in his sight.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that won't bite.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with a brain.
Mine is scared of his own shadow, it's driving me insane.
I ask him to do things, but he forgets his own name.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse with a brain.

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that stays clean.
I brush him, I groom him, I've considered chlorine.
His colours too chestnut for a horse with grey genes.
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a horse that stays clean

Oh Lord, won't you give him some hindquarter drive.
This horse is so lazy, I'm not sure he's alive.
We bend and we circle, 'til way, way past five.
So oh Lord, won't you give him some hindquarter drive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I wish I could be a Thoroughbred, and run like a flash,
Towards the finish on Derby Day, I would surely love to dash.
I wish I could be a dressage horse, trotting a figure eight across the sand,
Dancing canters and pirouettes surely would be grand.
I wish I could be a show jumper, leaping oh so high,
Over the toughest jumps, surely I could fly.
I wish I could be a mustang, and graze beneath the trees,
Galloping over dusty trails, and whatever else I please.
I wish I could be a stock horse, cutting cows from the herd,
I'd amaze all my spectators, and they wouldn't say a word.
I wish I could be a Clydesdale, and pull a cart with pride,
I would please my driver so much, his whip wouldn't need to touch my hide.
I wish I could be a Saddlebred, and prance around the ring,
To feel a sash across my neck would surely make me sing.
I wish I could be a Pegasus, and soar into the night,
I would leap into the air, beneath the silver moonlight.
I wish I could be a Quarter Horse, stopping on a dime,
I would love to say something more, but I can't finish out this rhyme.
I wish I could be a lot of things, but doubt I ever will,
You see I'm just a pony, but I'll keep on dreaming still.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------A wonderful horse, waiting for me
As beautiful as horses can be
A chestnut, red as Mars
When she jumps up, she hits the stars

A deep brown eye, like jarrah wood
When I give her aids, she does what she should
This horse is the only one for me
I'll ride her from Queensland to Northern Territory

This horse and I, when we meet first
I will ride her for all I'm worth
She'll gallop so fast, it really is frightening
This horse goes by the name of Lightning

Fancy

by Kat
(New York)

When I was a little girl I fell in love with horses and ponies. We lived in a small house in the middle of town and did not have much money. When I turned 10 my mom signed me up for riding lessons and I loved it.

I rode a small Halflinger pony named Fancy. My dad got a raise and bought me a horse at our new house with a barn and pasture. My new horse was a black and white Pinto mare named Shining Star. I started barrel racing when I was 13 which was last year.

Shining Star and I have done well, but I have never forgotten Fancy and now my brother takes lessons on her.

My true horse story

by Kayla
(U.S.A)

My story is a little long, but it's true and I really hope you like it!

When I am out riding my horse Madison I feel like I'm free and independent and that nothing can get in my way of having a great time. Madison and I are somewhat connected, it feels like horses were meant for me.

Madison and I are the BEST of friends and I don't know what I would do without her. Every time I walk up to her she gives me a friendly hello huge. And it is soooooooooo funny when she tries to make me laugh.

ok ok ok ok i know its weired but Madison does stupid but funny things just to make me laugh and to see me smile. She cant stand it when I'm mad, she is an absolute angel, and she can make anyone laugh.

I guess i have to start from the beginning: how I met her, its kinda cool. She used to be a race horse "the best" to be exact. She won nearly $800,000 dollars in her racing years. Till one day the trainer was running her to hard for too long and her front leg shattered, and now she has a bow tendon. So the trainer was about to put her down until Armond my neighbor that is training me to be a jockey bought her, because he just couldn't see her be put down.

He brought her to his house, and one day I went to his house to ride jack "one of his horses" and Madison kept looking at me in a funny way, and every time I would turn the other way she would neigh and run around to get my attention. And then Armond asked me if i wanted to ride her, he went to go get her out of the pasture, but he couldn't catch her, so i went to go get her and she walked right up to me.

When i was putting the saddle on her she was so exited, i jumped up in the saddle and i felt like I was on a mountain. She obeyed all of my commands and when I was done riding her I gave her a bath and brushed her off. But she wouldn't let Armond brush her, only me. So when i was on my way home Armond told me that since I am the only one she listens to then if I help him on the race horse farm, then he will give her to me for free.

I went every day to the farm and helped him, and her bow tendon is healing every fast. I think that me and Madison will be together for ever. We have a special connection and love for each other. She is a miracle that is just beginning, she has really brought my family together in many ways,

Her tendon has gotten toward where she will be able to run like she use to, and me having problems at school and everywhere else, she has really helped me get through those hard times, and through my times of need.

She has a special way of cheering me up. Its like she chose me to be her rider. She has given me a different image of horses, and their beauty. God put horses on this earth to make us happy and to have a best friend for life. i have given her a nick name that fits her perfectly, "SECOND CHANCE"

the horse i rode

when i went on my first hack i was 9. i had only ridden a horse 2 times and that's when i was about, well i don't no really i think i was a toddler. so i was really excited but nervous too.

i had loved horses for about a year by then and i loved being surrounded by them. Once i mounted all the memories of when i was a young rider came back. not long later we set of i was on a lead rope at the front of the group. that made me feel safe because i was right next to helen, the leader and instructor of us all.

There was another instructor at the back but if my horse is rearing there is no point in calling her! it was an hour ride so once took off we headed down a long narrow lane which led us to a gate that took us into the countryside, we were off!

At first it felt strange being in a saddle it was strange because we didn't turn around once but we still ended up back at the stables.

Horse Love 101

by Cheyenne
(Roanake )

Well all my life horses have been my fave animal. I started riding horses when I was 3. I learned on two great horses. One was this white pony named Mota (I don't really know how to spell her name), the other one is this beautiful Appaloosa named Smokey. I still ride him to this day. But Mota has athoridese in her right front leg.

I also rode this amazing pitch black quarter Arabian horse named Cody. They belong to my great friend Rosey. She is the one who taught me how to ride. Now, I have my own horse. He is a brown and white quarter horse. His name is Fizzle.

And you know what? All I read is horse books and I have many horse posters. I just love horses and I could talk about horses. As you can see, I am very horse crazy.

What is a Horse to Everyone Else?

by Aisling
(Ireland)

Hey everyone,

My names Aisling my screen name is Susieloveheart and we are all asking the same question: what is a horse to everyone else? But do you know what? I think I have the answer. Okay I bet if you're even on this website you're a horse crazy girl and you think a horse is the most wonderful being on the planet but what does everyone else think?

Some people are scared of horses but do you know what? If they're scared you can try to get them to love horses but you know, you may love everything about horses. But imagine if they are convinced to do it, but when they come up to the horse he/she bites the person they wouldn't be very happy.

But the truth is, horses are really gentle animals and I am going to brighten this page up a bit with a song!

A HORSE

A horse is the most special to me
The horses are beautiful as they go strolling by At the beach the water flows
It streams down the hooves
And I love that sound it makes me smile
But listen to me
I WAKE IT'S A GREAT BIG DAY
AND I WAKE UP ALL SAY HEY AY AY OH OH OH

Oh I will always have a big place in my heart for a horse so I let it down and I tell myself don't let go!!!

Thank you, thank you very much! Okay that's all I have time to write bye oh and please go to

When I was 8 or 9 I took a trail ride with my father and younger brother, it was my first ride that i didn't have someone leading my horse, and I was very exited. Near the end of the ride a gust of wind blew an empty paper bag across my horses path, he spooked and bolted a held on as hard as I could, but I still fell of. The guide, after check to make sure I was OK, made me get back on the horse...

That was the best thing he could have done.

My horse adventures

One of the reasons I'm horsecrazy is because horses are very important and trustworthy to us. They were the TRUE pioneers of America, even though we don't think much about it. Harley, my beloved trainer's horse, is the best horse any one could ever have. Every time I look into his eyes, I feel a bondship or a connection. If you lose a horse friend, you always feel like something tore off a piece of your heart, and nothing can ever replace it.

I love horses because they're majesic, beautiful, and just soo funny sometimes!! I always ride them every summer and I just have a blast! I love to draw them whenever I have free time. My friends now like horses because i have shown them how much I do and why. When I draw my horses I know that they are not all the same. I like to make some of them chesnuts, bays, and pintos. Or Black, white, and flee bitten gray. I can draw them jumping, running, standind, or in their stall. When I go to ride them in the summer I go to olgelbay and take the camp. I usually ride a dark bay with a short mane named glen. I always have fun riding glen because he loves to trot and go down the trail.

They're my life and I have nothing that brings me more happiness than horses do.

I don't own a horse yet because I live in the city. But in the summer time I am moving to Edmonton Alberta country area. So I will be able to get a horse, my dad promised.

Don't worry I will still be coming on to my page.
Remember its all about the horses. They are very special creatures and animals. No matter the size or shape healthy or dying, sick or fine, I will love them. Don't let anyone tell you different.

My horsey life or as I call it : HEAVEN!

by Abbie
(Scotland)

I was always around horses even before I was born! My mum was totally horse crazy and owned a dutch warmblood called Foxy.Foxy had to be put down when I was born because he had a brain tumor and my mum was heart broken. A couple of weeks after that my dad bought my mum for her wedding a thoroughbred 15:2 hh bay horse and they named him Prince. He was rode and cared for but now retired because of arthuritis. We still own him but not ride him.My mum's friend knew a lady that was selling a 10:3 hh shetland had just foaled and with my birthday coming up they bought her for me. I named her Jewel. The first day I rode her was the first day I ever rode but we didn't know how badly she was treated when she was rode so she bucked me off and cantered up to the hay that was stored in the indoor arena and started eating. We never rode her after that because she is prone to lamanitis.I was walking around the farm one day when I met a girl and her big sister looking at a little 11:3 hh pony called Apollo. She came up to me and said "Hello I'm Mhairi! Who are you?" I said "I'm Abbie. Do you own this pony?" "Well a bit. My sister rides him and I groom him." After that encounter we are best friends. That was 7 years ago and we're still friends.Mhairi now owns Apollo and her sister owns Toffee.Ever week I used to ride Apollo in lessons but stopped because my intructor became a policewoman. I was hooked on ponies so I went to buy one.Reno was the first pony I looked at and I didn't like him because he wouldn't even trot.Sparky was bad.On his add it said "13:2 hh bombproof chestnut" but he was all from that because we was 11:3 and reared at a tractor and I couldn't even ride him because I didn't even bother.Mannie was great and I loved him but my mum said no because he was a windsucker but I loved him! One day I was looking on Scothorse and I saw an add for a 13:3 hh piebald mare that was just taken back from Trailblazers and my mum said no. I was super keen on her so we went to see her and she was a dream! Heidi loves jumping and got the highest score in dressage at her stables.Next year I hope to take her to some shows and win everthing!

Horses, the only cure to this girl's craziness!

by Tasia

Him now.... eating all of the grass he wants and becoming fat. :)

I learned how to ride when I was 3 months old. You might be thinking that I'm some girl with parents who love horses or I own a horse myself. Neither are true.

My aunt is a professional show jumper now and taught me how to ride when she was just making her own titles. I was in the front of the saddle and she was on the back. We used to canter and jump small fences when my parents let me go with my grandma and aunt to the barn. I used to have so much fun!

When I was around 2 years old, I got to ride my hero, a dutch warm-blood named raven that my aunt still owns today (he is 22 and retired in Lexington, Kentucky). I rode him through obstacles and had the time of my life! I became hooked on horses and have an obsession (to everybody else it's sick but to me, its perfect).

I just love horses!

my horse sirena

When i was about 3 I lived beside a farm with horses on it. And i was in love with them the first time i saw them. They were like the only friends i had.

So when i would wake up in the morning i would look out the door and see if they were at the fence. This horse named Baby Girl she was my best friend. She was at the end of the fence she could see me she would run to where i was. So that's why i am HORSECRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Earnhardt

Earnhardt

I don't really have my own horse, but I really want one!

I love horses! I work at a stable. It is so awesome!! The owner of the stables I work in is amazing!! She taught me how to ride a horse for free!!! She has the prettiest horses ever. I love her horse and she is super nice. We have done so much fun things. She is teaching me to enter and win shows! I'm so excited!

My favorite horse of hers would have to be Earnhardt because he is my practice horse and is a gentle giant. He is a bay jockey club thoroughbred gelding. He is 15.3hh.

I wish I could own the biggest horse farm in the world, full of every horse known to man. I wish I could just have one horse for a start..

Well, this is why I'm horsecrazy!!

I love horses and have been riding for six years. I ride western and do lots of gymkhanas. Horses are the best. My favorite breed is the Arabian.

How could you not love them??? In my opinion, horses are way better than ponies.

Peace out horse lovers!

I am horse crazy because I got my first model horse when my dad first got married. My first model horse has always been special to me and my sister.

Another reason why I'm horse crazy is because, when I first got on a horse I felt so happy! During my first lesson I had no idea how to ride but I jumped this weird looking jump perfectly!!!

I'm horse crazy because ever since I was little I have always loved horses. My best friend had a little Shetland pony and I would ride it all the time. Then when I was about 8 I got my first horse. He was 15 and he was abused and neglected. It took us a few months before we could even ride him because he was so scared. Now I'm 13 and I have 2 horses. My horse Pepsi that I got when I was like 8 is now 21. We show in barrels and English jumping. We get first all the time. He is the best horse ever.

Chevy and Lulu rock this world!

This is me and Lulu After a show at Spruce Meadows

I was horse crazy as soon as my aunt Jill showed me her prised horse Kit. Kit was 17 hands and he did everything. Dressage, cattle roping and barrel race champ 4 years in a row. He was the very first horse i ever rode. Unfortunetly he died at age 37 last year. Then we moved to Calgary from Edmonton and i was horse less for a year. There were trail rides here and there held at the local ranches, but that was never enough. After lots of begging my parents signed me up for english lessons at M.C. Equestrian. Then i bought Lululemon (lulu for short) this year in april. Since then we have gone to thunderbird show park and my locker door is covered with 87 ribbons! I am saddly starting to outgrow lulu but we still have another season. I love the smell of the barn.

My Horsey Day Out

by Alicia

Well I was going on a walk with my 2 dogs and we were coming home and my grandad said we have 2 go in a horse field. I said no but he did not listen to me.

I said no because it would be cruel to the horse cause were walking in to his home and he had not asked and it could've been a nasty horse that bites.

by vanny
(Canada/Montreal)

I have an appalossa leopared female named:" Chick For Spots" she's a real sweetie, but i couldn't get a picture of her on here....i live on a ranch called:"West Horses" and we have alot to do on our ranch i have a chestnut male who we have 2 of his babies...his name is"O Haro" his foals are:"Dancing Around Haro" and mine:"Marshmellow Addiction" since her mom's name is:"Marshmellow Beauty" i love our horses and always will. our oldest horse is 14yrs 4months his name is"Speedy Cheater" he is a gelding therfore cannot reproduce..these names have been chosen by me and my family,we have so many so we can't figure out what to name them!like my brothers black mares name is:"Ima Boppin' Clue" shes mean and very aggresive and hates cameras, the last time we tried taking a picture of her with her light bay brother:"Ima Good Clue",unfortunatly we sold him but anyways, the camera flash stunned her and she almost broke her stall and everything in it...my brother doesn't ride her anymore so he rides his other one a white stallion with a brown spot his name is:"Take A Glance"...so that's about it,oh! and we have a foal female in "Speckles" another horse, she'll be born soon we already picked the name::"Ooopps!" her dad's name is"is Dat The Phone?" he's an appolossa...his dad is beautiful too,his name is:"Who Whiz It?so thanks for listning, sorry for NO pictures:)

Lightning, Casper and I

by Sidney
(Salt Lake City, Utah, USA)

Lightning

Lightning

We (me and my family) live on a farm. I got my first pony when I was 5 and I loved it. Its name was Casper. I hugged my new pony, Casper, a white friendly horse. Today was my 5th b-day. It was a little one just like I. My father taught me how to ride when I was 4. So I was prepared. I rode all day and my love for ponies rose.

Again when I was 7, I got another pony, Lightning. Ever since I got these ponies I loved and new how to get along with them.

This is why my room is filled with horse like things. Every horse I see I get along well with. That is why I take care of a foal, Swiftwind, and will love her like I do to Casper and Lightning.

Now I am 15 and have been riding for 10 years. Horses are my life.
