Wild Red - Part 1

Red

Red was born on a nice, warm sunny, August afternoon. He was a beautiful bright chestnut colt. He has a lot of speed. He would never let anyone go near him except his owner. His owner was Emma. Emma had a huge love for horses and hated slaughter. But now let's begin with the story.

The horrible man whipped Red and forced him into the trailer. Red refused to go in. He fought the man. He reared up, pawing the air.

A girl named Emma was on her bike, going from school to her house. She just stopped and look over at the bright chestnut horse and the young, cruel man. She scrambled off of her bike and ran towards the man and the horse.

"Stop! Please stop! Don't do that to the poor horse!" she yelled. The man ignored her and whipped the sweaty 3 yr old chestnut colt more than ever. He kicked and bucked, trying to scare the man away. The man saw Emma, he shoved her back with his strong forearm. Emma screamed as she fell down.

Emma started screaming at the man.

"Stay away, little girl! Stay away" said the man. She was about to yell back. When everything went black.

Wild Red - Part 2

Emma regained consciousness, and she saw a doctor, a nurse, and get mom staring down at her. She looked around. She was in the hospital! What happened? What about that horse?

Her mom must have read her mind. She said, "It's okay, honey. That horse has been saved from that cruel man. The horse trampled you." That's why everything went black! She thought. She bolted up in the bed, but she was forced back down by a very sharp pain go to to her arm.

Emma stayed in the hospital one more day, and then the doctor put a cast around her arm. She went home, and she found the chestnut colt standing at their paddock gate. She walked towards him very slowly. He backed off, and tossed his head. Emma walked closer to him. He reared up in annoyance. Emma stepped back, trying not to get hurt again.

Red took a step towards her, but he changed his mind and turned his back on her. Emma rolled her eyes and walked away. The she stopped. The horse was beautiful. She knew that he was too wild for her, but an idea came into her mind. She would plan to secretly ride him when her arm was healed. If her parents found out, they would me mad at her. So she decided to keep it a secret.

Emma wanted to tame him. She wanted him to trust again. She would make him do that. She would. She turned around to look at him. He was facing her and staring at her in the eye.

She walked closer. He tossed his head and backed off. Emma took another step closer. She saw a huge scar on his neck. It looked swollen, red, and bloody. She thought the man whipped him so hard on the neck, that he made that scar.

Emma would help him to trust again, she really would.
