Welsh Ponies
by: Anonymous

First lead him over the log so he knows what he's going to do. Then, when he's been broken, squeeze him with your thighs to encourage him. If he refuses more than 3 times ask your friend if they have a pony to lead you over the jump.

My Opinon
by: CrazyHorseLuvr

To me any horse or pony can do anything you want it to do. I start riding the young horses at age two. All I do is light ridding. I work on making them soft in the mouth light trail rides. Despooking them is a MUST. As far as jumping you dont want to jump him untill he is five. You want to make sure his knees are fully grown. At 5yrs old horses or ponies are fully grown. You can start him on the ground. lunge him over small logs don't push him to go over high ones. Don't over do it. When he does it right let him have a rest.
