Amy couldn't help it. She burst out crying.
"Why? Why woody?" She sobbed rubbing the bay pony`s face.He snorted and laid down on the straw with a heavy sigh.weeping for all she was worth she bolted the stable door shut and ran into the hen house to cry. She couldn't bear to see her best friend if she knew she was going to lose him. Ever since he had caught colic he had been ill.
Week after week Amy had nursed him back from whatever illness he had, just to find that he had something else. Then it hit her. Woody wasn't ever going to get better.
She wasn't the only one who knew it, though she stuck it out much longer than everyone else. The vet had told her this morning, that he wouldn't last much longer.
The moon gazed down at Amy with sorrow as she said goodbye to woody, brushing his fluffy forelock out of his eyes. Suddenly she felt as if she wasn't alone, as if someone was here too, watching her. She turned, ready to defend her pony until he died. She was right to feel that way, for the angel was approaching her.
"I'm so sorry.." she whispered. Her voice was like chimes, and it was warm yet it sent shivers down Amy's spine.
"What....Whaddya mean?" Amy stuttered.
"I have come for your pony, he needs to be rescued."
"No...no... not my woody, what will you do to him?"
"He will stay with me and my friends." She whispered, gesturing to the excited herd of misty horses.
"Woody ain't like no other pony!" She said angrily.
"No. He is not, that is why I shall see to him personally. He shall be my horse."
"You...you'll look after him?"
"Yes, forever, until the world ends and the sky is black, I shall keep him safe and sound, and then he shall join you in the next world. Be brave and strong, and your horse will follow. He will not forget you."
Her eyes brimming with tears, Amy handed the tattered head collar to the angel. She smiled as well as she could, to show Woody that everything was fine.
"When I was your age, I lost my horse. It is easier this way." She added, thinking back to how she had wanted to ease the pain and sorrow of losing friends when she had been in that position.
Trying to pretend to herself that everything was fine, Amy asked, "what was the horse's name?"
"Flash." The angel replied, as she mounted Woody, and the graceful chestnut followed her with pride.

As you might (or maybe won't) know, i am writing a book called Silent Hoofbeats, and I thought people might like to know about the plot. So here's a bit of the story and a sort of blurb.
"Apollo, stop, NOW!" Abiona screamed.
The chestnut stallion skidded expertly and stopped within a few centimeters of what looked like a horse.
"H...How did this happen" She choked. This would have looked, to a human, like a dead horse, but Abiona saw differently. Angels rescued the soul carefully, and didn't harm them in any way, but she could clearly see that this one`s soul had been ripped out...
Basically One of two main characters (Abiona and Lara) Finds out that a Mysterious creature has been taking the souls of horses for some unknown cause, and it will probably get more dangerous. All the other angels are missing or die, and with the help of her sister Lara, Abiona and Apollo have to stop it.
Tell me what you think! And also, ive made two quizzes, so you can search for `Quizzaz, then in the quizzaz search bar, type `What garden do you have?` or `What soul gem are you?`
They are both based on the book. Please comment (comment about that, on this website) and tell me what you think!
