Pocahontas and her Pony

Since Spice(the horse)is a dark color so my mind drifted towards an Indian pony. I have been sewing for more than 6 years and so it was second nature for me to whip out the costume with barely a scratch of a pattern. So I got fabric and started sewing.

I have always wanted a tassel jacket so I made it insulated so I could use it at the winter rodeos in the area.

Now since fabric is expensive it cost me about $187 for all the notions and such plus the feathers which were dollar store finds. So probably about $200 total.

About 50 minutes from we’re I live there is an annual costume and obstacle course ride that do. We’re you get points for the certain thing you can do on your horse and with your horse.

Everybody loved it! I got over 50 compliments that day. Spice (the horse) was totally unfazed by it, even if I clapped my arms in front of her!😂
