This is a good horse racing movie, but it's also very sad.

Phar Lap, the legendary Australian racing horse, is as well-known today for his mysterious death as for his fabulous accomplishments in life. Just after winning an important race in Mexico, Phar Lap collapses and dies; though the film never comes out and says as much, it is assumed that the horse was 'murdered' by the gambling interests.

Phar lap was an awesome race horse. what gets me is they say he is " the famous Australian Champion" Phar lap was a New Zealand born horse.

This movie is in the top three of my favorite movies ever. Its with Black Beauty and The man from snowy river. I'm from Australia myself and i love how the horse became the best that he could be and how he lifted people up during the depression. I cried when he died but the amazing thing is, he was so good that people around the world still know his name!!!!!!

I know what happened, who killed Pharlap. It was Harry Telford who killed him, Harry overdosed Pharlap with Arsenic. Tommy fed Pharlap the stuff and when Tommy was sleeping he was hearing the horse in pain and then his friend and someone else to check on him. Then the next day Tommy called the Chasy and the other man to come and look at him. Tommy took Pharlap out to the paddock so he could keep the horse moving, then Pharlap died.

That is what killed him.

I so wanna see this movie. There's a new movie comin out in October called Secretariat who's also a racehorse. Phar Lap's REAL body is in a museum somewhere.

I love Phar Lap, I went and saw him at the Museum, he was actually called Bobby wich is sooo cool cause my horse is called Bobby.
(But my Bobby isn't as big)!

Also just called Phar Lap. Phar Lap is about Australia's "wonderhorse" Phar Lap also know was the red terror but to one boy he was know as "Bobby" watch Phar Lap go from dud to one of the best racehorses of all time this is a sad but good movie if you love horses I recommend watching Phar Lap-Hero to a nation even.

Phar Lap-Hero To a Nation is about the famous Austrialan champion who won the 1930 Melbounre Cup and the sad thing that happened. The movie follows Phar Lap form comptele outsider to hero of a nation this movie is old but still enjoyable if you love horse racing and a good movie you will love Phar Lap
