Helping with spooking and backing up by: Sundancerider
ok well, i have my own horse by the way and she had the same problem: SPOOKING!!! i hated it, and i feel ur pain! :) haha
SPOOKING
1. when ur horse spooks in a certain place, get off, lead her away, about twenty feet, then circle her back and just stop, letting her look at "The scary object".
2. if ur on the trail, do the same thing, but stay on her, and do it several times, so she realizes it will not get her.
BACKING UP
1. when ur horse backs up, make sure ur not pulling back on the reins, as soon as she backs up, give her half the rein. 2. once she stops, make her walk back where she was and then just stop.
