I don't think that's at all unrealistic. When I was six, I rode my horse all over the place bareback and bridleless, galloping. Just how I was. Never had any lessons of any sorts.

This 10-year old girl rode bareback? And galloped? And didn't tie the horse to anything when she jumped off and fell asleep? And you copied the movie Flicka quite a bit. Like her the cougar attacking, and the Dad going to shoot Gus, and the girl saying "you can shoot us".
