Well
by: Horseluver4evernever

I would think that maybe you should get the paint.
I would also recommend maybe considering a gypsy banner. They are very calm well mannered horses and do many disciplines. A cob would be great too. Sweet horses that do various things. A horse with a bit of spirit may not suit you if you are a begginer. It does not matter so much about the breed but of how he was trained his age and the amount of spirit. If you are an experienced rider then you can get an advanced horse. Oh and by the way if you are looking for a barrel racing horse the quarter horse is good. Good luck finding your perfect horse!!!

Lucky :D
by: Francis

I am so happy for you!

I love Appaloosas!
But they are kinda tricky so not for a first time rider. They are sassy and SMART. I read in a book that the Native Americans raised them that way so the indians will get annoyed and take it out on the people they are fighting! XD

Paints are easier to teach. As easy as it can get with horses ;)

Also, if you have school or go on vacations in the sumer may I recomend a goat?
Goats and horses are a good pair!

I think this comment is long enough!

Paints!
by: breyerhorserider

Paints, Tennesee walking horses, or quarter horses are always the best choices for a first horse! Oh, and whatever you do, DO NOT GET A PONY (14.2hh or less) OR A PURE DRAFT HORSE, no matter how much you love them. Always get a semi tall quiet beginner horse for your first horse, I would recommend getting a older horse, they are way calmer even though they dont last as long. Don't get a horse younger than 6 or 7. The older the better if your looking for a safe calm, versatile ( sorry if I spelt it wrong) horse.

breed of horse
by: Rose

I like Tennessee walkers. We own two, and one of them is the horse I usually ride. She is gentle, and usually does what I want, but that does depend on training too. I Run with her, she has a nice gallop and canter. They also have a nice walk the can do, kinda half walk and have trot. I know Quarter horses are nice, too. I am twelve and almost 5 foot, and she is perfect for me. I would tell you how many hands high she is, but I don't really know. But you might want to research a wide variety of breeds to see which ones fits you best! Hope this helps!

Cobs and gypsy vanners
by: Charlotter

I would recommend a cob or a gypsy vanner because they are always very gentle, docile and very well mannered.

my breed ideas for Lexi
by: Sophie

It depends what you want to do with it, in my opinion. Maybe you want to do show jump with it. For that I would get a Kabardin. If you want to do dressage, I would reccomend an Anglo-Arab. For Western riding or barrel racing, a Quarter Horse. For English, a Westphalian. And for any type of racing, a Thoroughbred.

Breed
by: Carrigan

the breed doesn't reflect the horse, it could be a AQH but be an AMAZING jumper and a dutch warmblood and be a trail horse. It reflects on the horses personality and what it's trained to do.

It depends!
by: Rayna

I personally am a fan of both Paints and appaloosas, but that's just me!

It really depends.. are ya'll going to let your horses graze, or stay in stables most of the time???
