Fictional Story
I looked around my yard. Emptiness. Just plain grass. A plain shed. And a plain tree. Thats all. A horse would look fantastic out there,I thought to myself, thinking about the ranch where I do riding lessons. It was the 23rd December, 2 days before Christmas.
I watched as my parents entered the backyard, carrying large box's and tools. "What's happening?" I asked them as I went outside, "Oh, nothing Alex.... Why don't you go to Lizzi's?" dad asked. "Ok" I responded and I got on my bike and went to my friend Lizzi's house, who lives around the corner.
I played at Lizzi's for about an hour when...
Rrrrrrrrring! "Hello, Jane speaking." Lizzi's mum awnsered the phone, "Sure, bye! Alex, Mum and dad told me to ask you to go home." I went home, to find mum and dad out the front. They took my bike and then told me to get in the car, to go do some Christmas shopping. Mum drove the ute and dad and I went in the 4wd. Mum kept going past the shops, "Where is she going?" I asked dad, "oh, just to see a friend, now have a look for presents for mum while I order some food." dad responded. But little did I know, that mum had gone to buy tack!
When we got home, it was late, so I had dinner and went to bed. But as soon as I fell asleep, Mum returned home. " I got everything for a horse. Lets go put it in the closet so Alex doesn't find it!" Mum whispered to dad.
The next morning, I was awoken by my puppy, Cotton, jumping on my bed. I got up and fed him, and heard mum on the phone. "All set Ralph..... Are you ready? Be on time. Bye!" "Mum," I asked, "what do you mean, Be on time?" "Just.." Mum started, "Uncle Ralph is going.... Christmas shopping tonight. I was just telling him to be on time before the shops close." Uncle Ralph lives on an amazing horse farm.
The day seemed to drag on forever! That night I hung up my 2 HUGE stockings up, that are the size of me, ready for Santa Claus. I left out some milk and cookies too.
"Goodnight sweetie, Merry Christmas." Mum put me to bed. But I couldn't go to sleep I was just So excited about Christmas! I finally fell asleep.
I awoke early the next morning. "MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!" Yelled to wake my parents up. I open my millions of presents. mum and dad then walked me outside to see the most gorgeous horse standing next to a brand new stable! "No way!" I yelled, "hello....I will call you Violet!"

Fictional story.
I was riding my brand new chestnut horse, Violet, who I got for Christmas Last week. She suddenly looked a bit ill so I took her in her stable and gave her some fresh hay and water. Mum saw me, "You may want to stop feeding her so much hay, sweetie! Look how much she has gained since Christmas day!" I knew it was true, but I didn't think that I was the one responsible. "Mum, Violet has been acting a bit strange, I think she is sick. I'm going to call Uncle Ralph, since he would know about her."
My uncle Ralph lives on a horse farm and he is the one who used to own Violet. "Hi uncle Ralph." I started, "Violet is acting like she may be sick,.....Okay......Yep....Thanks....I will, bye! Mum, he said I should just keep an eye on her, and give her a rest for a while."
Days passed and I was sure that my lovely Chestnut wasn't getting any better. One morning, I went to check on my horse, I looked in her stable, only to see a little foal! "Mum, come out here! Dad call Uncle Ralph and tell him to come over!" I shouted. Mum and I gazed at the foal. Uncle Ralph soon turned up. "I am so sorry guys," he said, "She must have bred with one of my males. I'm so sorry!" "Don't be Ralph, can you tell us if it is a girl or a boy?" dad said. "Definitely a boy" Uncle Ralph said. "We have to sell him don't we mum?" I thought mum would never agree to another horse. "Only if you want to sell him, sweetie." Mum responded. "Really!" my face lit up. "Your mum is right, you can sell him if you want, but keeping him means you will have more responsibilities. And you must break him in when he is older, are you up to it?" Dad asked. I nodded. "Besides," mum said," He is YOUR horse's foal." I was so happy! "Hello little one, my name is Alex, and your name is PJ!" I smiled at my brand new foal.
