It's about a girl, Grace, who goes riding in the snow with her friend. Her friend's horse started to slip and she fell off in the middle of the road. Grace tried to save her but it was too late, they all got hit by an 18-wheeler. Grace and her horse Pilgrim lived, but she lost half of her leg and her horse lost his mind.

Grace's mom calls the horse whisperer to come to New York to help Pilgrim but he said NO. So Grace and her mom drive all the way to Montana to see him instead. In Montana, Grace and Pilgrim begin the long road to recovery.

 Book better than Movie!

I have read the book and seen the movie. I am not a book reader but this book I could not put it down. The detail the author used was captivating. For me the movie was a let down, not true to the book. If you had not read the book then you probably loved the movie. One of the best books I've ever read.

 Great movie, not abuse

This is a great movie, why are some saying it's abuse? It's a little something called horsemanship that some of you don't know about. Like he said when he laid Pilgrim down.. "This isn't hurting him." Horses are tougher than some of you think.

 Good Book

I've read the book, however have not watched the movie. I don't think the book is appropriate for girls younger than 17. it has some very detailed scenes with the Mother and Horse Whisperer,(i say 17 cause if it was all added in the movie it will be rated R. the mother does cheat on the husband but you have to remember the book isn't JUST about helping the horse and girl it is also about how he helps the mother and father of the girl to heal their marriage after the accident, and after the mother has been with the horse whisperer she realizes what she needs to do to save their marriage and become a healed family again. There are some cool horse facts in the book though and it's an AMAZING book. Maybe just skip the few pages with the inappropriate "cheating" scenes.

OMG When I watched this I stopped living for 2 days all I did was watch it over and over again. it's so cool and fun to watch. It is also a bit sad at the beginning, thought.

I think this movie is amazing! I was bowling at the first part though I didn't care about the girls well I kinda did but I was more worried about the horses though especially the one that got hit, I started crying like crazy and my mom come running in and saw what I was crying about and started laughing cause I love horses so much and I would give my life up for one to live!:D

OK i was reading through these comments, and i was surprised to read that some of you do not understand the horsemanship used in this film.

throughout the movie the horse whisperer uses the technique join up, this teaches the horse the human is stronger than the horse and that the human would make a better leader, this is exactly how the leader of a herd would do it.

and tying the horses hoof up does not hurt it, but again teaches it that we have the power to take away something it needs, and when it lays down it is basically giving up, therefore we help it, showing we won't hurt it we are there to help. it is not dangerous sometimes it is safer especially when it comes with training stallions. this movie was brilliant and displayed some amazing techniques, all of which are used by real horse trainers, and riders such as myself.

this movie was the best ever it made me cry when i seen tiligram the horse after the accident but i loved the ending. but how could anni leave her true love :O its just sooooo unfair and she loves to ride so why did she leave? he was the PERFECT man anyways, i'm getting a new horse and i'm calling it tilagram, hope that won't happen to me :p

I HATE sad movies. Especially Horse Ones. I do NOT think I want To See This Movie. I recommend The movie Flicka 2. It is not sad and it ROX !!!

I don't know about the morals of the film, but I'd like to address the moment when the horse whisperer tied up Pilgrim's leg and had him fall over. It bothered me terribly and eventually I asked my instructor, who is a horse trainer and uses very gentle methods and is never unfair to a horse. He said that he too had had to tie up a horse's leg and pull him down. The idea is that if a horse entirely panics, it can be safer for him to lie down and be held down, and if a human then sits on top of him but does not hurt him, he learns that he can actually trust a human, and also gets used to having a human physically above him (they can get very scared of objects being above their heads). I think that so long as it is done responsibly and safely, and also at the right time, the technique isn't necessarily cruel.
Furthermore? I loved the horses! They were just beautiful, and the scenery was glorious.

The girl's mother in the movie cheats on her husband and does not feel ashamed. This movie has terrible morals in it and I don't recommend watching it!

About a girl who get in an accident with her horse. The horse gets hurt badly and she lost her leg! Her mother take the horse and her daughter to a "Horse Whisperer" and....you'll just have to find out!

Very sad movie about two best friends that love and own horses. they go on a trail ride when disaster strikes the horse trips, the girl falls off, her foot gets stuck in stirrups and dies other girl loses a leg very good movie though.

I have 3 favourite movies. This is one of them. It has great characters, intriguing story-line, tear-jerking climaxes, and a good ending. It's a story of devotion, love, miracles and or course, horses. Any horse lover can't miss this. If you haven't seen it, you should!

It's about a girl called grace and a horse called pilgrim who gets hit my a truck and they both got really badly hurt. Grace gave up riding cos she thought it was her fault and pilgram wouldnt go near her. Her mother brought them to a horse whisperer and he helped them... its the best film ever!

Horse Whisperer is about a horse a girl and a horse whisperer. I will tell you a little about the movie. It is about a girl who riding with her friend in the snow they where climbing up a hill and they slipped down a big semi truck was on the icey road was there and tried to stop. Then the horses tried to save their owners. Then it hit.

That's not all I love this movie you need to watch it.

It is about a married lady that cheats on her husband. Sure, there might be a couple scenes with a horse and a girl, 1% of the time! Oh, and they have SUCH TERRIBLE horsemanship! He ties one of the horses legs up! Dangerous idiot!
