Calico Mountians: Part 3
by: Sara

Phantom stood as still as rock. This horse could be his sister.
"Who was your sire and dam?" He murmured.
Breaking Dawn looked scared. "My sire was Midnight Sun and my dam was Bella's Triumph." She whispered.
"Mine too." nickered Twilight.
"You are my sister, Breaking Dawn. Eclipse is my nephew and New Moon is your niece." Twilight stamped his hoof and said, "Meeting over."
The horses quietly scattered throughout the valley.
"We're kin, Breaking Dawn and Eclipse." Twilight whinnied softly.

What could Twilight do?

Calico Mountians: Part 2

Phantom's Story

Phantom nipped the mare as he pushed her and her colt up the mountain. When they got to his herd, all the horses whickered the greeting while a few foals reared playfully. Phantom neighed triumphantly as he cantered over to an overo paint mare with two blue eyes. He started to talk to her. "Hello, Whisp." Phantom rang, his voice full of joy and friendliness
[? is that even a word? xD].
"Hello, Phantom." The blue-eyed mare spoke softly. Her melodic voice sang like bells.
"Who is the newcomer?" asked Whisp curiously.
"I don't know Whisp. But I will soon."
Meanwhile, the liver chestnut mare and her black colt shifted uneasily in the center of the horses. The mare hid her foal when any horse came near and bared her teeth.
Phantom leaped up onto a high ledge and said, "All horses part of the CalicoHerd come to highledge for a herd meeting!"
Every horse quivered in excitement as they stood in front of their leader.
"Now, newcomers, step forward." Phantom's sea-glass eyes sparked happily.
The mare and her colt slowly halted in front of the stallion.
"Who are you?" He asked gently, coming down to stand in front of the pair.
"I am Breaking Dawn," The liver chestnut mare answered shakily. "And this is my colt, Eclipce." The colt Eclipce nodded and clacked his teeth.
Phantom stood in awe. His real name, Twilight, rang through his ears, as did his daughter's, the overo paint called Whisp, whose real name was New Moon.
[Getting it, Twilighters?]
Could these horses be his kin?

The Calico Mountians: Part 1

Phantom's Story

Phantom cantered up the side of the Calico Mountains, and flew down the other side. His pitch black coat gleamed like ebony as he galloped along the Playa . Suddenly, Phantom stopped. A liver chestnut mare and her night-sky black colt were galloping right in front of him. Phantom charged, and began to circle them. The mare and her foal huddled together as he circled. Then, Phantom stopped right in front of her. His long forelock shaded his eyes as he lowered his magnificent head. He reached his head out, teeth bared. The colt hid behind his dam as the mare reared up in surprise.

Phantom's Story

Phantom cantered out of the small cave that led to his sheltered valley. He flew up the side of the mountain and down the other. Suddenly, Phantom stopped. A liver chestnut mare and her pitch black colt galloped across the Playa . Phantom reared and flew down to see them, and with a mighty neigh, he started to circle them. He stopped in front of the mare and snorted, his long black forelock shading his eyes. He lowered his neck and snaked his head towards her neck, teeth bared. The mare hid her foal behind her as she reared in surprise. Phantom nipped her neck and rump as he herded her and her colt to his secret valley.
