Sundancer is a book that you can read over and over again!!If you love horse books AND realistic fiction books, than I think you've found the perfect book!! It's about a girl named Alberta, nicknamed Bird, who doesn't speak. Her mother "gave" her to her aunt Hannah.Bird is not like your average girl. She can talk to horses!!!
But one day there is a new horse at Aunt Hanah's farm.Bird cannot seem to get through to him!!
But the plot thickens, Bird's mother who has not seen her since she was 6 decides to take a visit!!

best horse book ever!

First of all, i know my name is the same as Bird's mother which really is lame :P. This book so far has been absolutely great!! I'm not done with it yet, but so far it has been one of the best horse books i've ever read. This is a perfect read for horse crazy girls like me.

this book is my fav in the whole wide world, every girl who loves horses needs to read this. good for 5th grade up could be a little confusing but it is worth it!!!! plot is funny, serious and entertaining.

Very Good Book

I read this book and i loved it. i loved how Bird communicated with the horse. This is a must read book for all horse lovers, i recommend this book for the ages of maybe 10+ At least i think that a few parts may be confusing for some readers younger than 10.

Sundancer is a lot like my horse, Breeze. He has bad days if you don't try to ride in harmony with him. If you try to dominate him he freaks out!

Sundancer is about a 13-year old girl named Alberta nicknamed Bird. She hasn't spoken a word since she was 6 and when a horse that was supposed to be put down :( comes to her farm (saddle creek). She falls in love. Her first words in a long time were "Sundancer."

Sundancer was abused in so many ways and since Sundancer is supposed to be dead they are in some financial trouble. Bird is the only one on her aunt's farm that can ride him. When Bird's mom comes to visit with her soon-to-be husband Randy and Bird's little sister Julia.

Bird's mom Eva is embarrassed to have a daughter like Bird who doesn't speak so she tells Randy that Bird is Aunt Hannah's daughter. It ends badly for Eva and Randy but Bird and Sundancer they go to shows and win all the time. They love to be together and Sundancer he looks past his wounds that are as deep as his heart. He realizes he loves Bird and Bird already knew since she layed her eyes on his copper-colored body and his long flowing mane that she was in love. She fell hard when she fell in love.

And when Sundancer is almost taken from her, she does what she does best and RUNS! They jump fences and hide away in a neighbor's barn. The neighbors look after her and she and Sundancer are safe away from the bad guys that try to take her love away. I won't ruin the ending for you but I strongly recommend this book!
