This is Stormy
Three teenage boys stood teasing a young mare. They threw rocks at her and jabbed her with a stick!
"Hey!" Cried a young girl on horse back. Her horse, a black stallion named Stormy, bucked The girl off and ran to the mare's aid. He reared at the boys landing hard on one of the boy's chest. They all ran away in fear.
When the boys left, Stormy nudged the Mare. The girl, her name was Rayna, approached the two. "Thank goodness I brought the ropes!" Rayna thought. She carefully scooted past the mare, and she quickly mounted Stormy.
"Okay Storm, Help me here, let them know I'm good!" Rayna whispered into the horse's ear. Stormy immediately nickered and flashed his tail. Rayna pulled out her ropes and flung one over the mare.
After Rayna unmounted Stormy and tightening the rope, she clicked her tongue and started home. Finding that holding the rope was too hard, she looped it around her saddle horn. (She rides western)She mare didn't resist the long walk at all.
Finally they entered Rayna's property. Rayna unmounted Stormy, pulled off his tack, and grabbed the ropes letting Stormy run around the pasture. The Mare was a bit in Shock. Rayna knocked on the back door until her aunt Shannyn opened it.
"Oh Rayna! What did you bring home this time!" Her Aunt Shannyn laughed stroking the mare. "Some stupid teenagers were teasing her! Stormy found them!" Rayna laughed. "Can we keep them? Please Aunt Shannyn?" Rayna asked showing her "puppy dog" face. "Oh I don't know. she's a wild pony. Did you find her up on the slope?" Her aunt asked. "Yes." Rayna sighed. She knew that the slope was full of wild ponies. "I'll go ask your mom, and grandma Stark." Her Aunt sighed. "Yes!" Thought Rayna in complete happiness.
Rayna quickly closed the pasture gate, took off the rope, and let the mare run. Suddenly, Stormy went mad! He began bucking and rearing, and he kicked the mare! Rayna ran over to Stormy and stroked him and got him to calm down, but when she mounted everything went wrong!

After the butterflies left Rayna's stomach, her head stopped spinning, and she opened her eyes, she realized she was on the ground. Quickly her aunt Shannyn rushed to her aid, helping her up.
"That was some fall you had!" Aunt Shannyn laughed. (I'm switching to first person sorry!) I looked up dazed and confused. "What happened?" I asked? "As soon as you got on Stormy," My aunt said "He bucked and reared until you flew off! I wonder whats gotten into that horse!"
I carefully stood up. Realizing I was fine, but a bit sore, I made my way into the house and into my room. I meant to close my windows, but I instantly fell asleep. While I was in my deep slumber, I had a dream. In my dream, I was a horse named Tilly, and I galloped the scale of the pasture by Stormy's side.
"I hate that pony! She complains about wanting to go home! I was Stormy said. "Oh. Would you be happy if the girl took the pony back?" I asked quietly. "Oh of course!" Suddenly I awoke feeling sore in my ribcage. I slipped on my boots, and ran outback. It was raining. I roped up the mare and tacked up Stormy.
After mounting him, I looped the rope on the saddle horn again. I felt like I was going to through up and my chest hurt awfully. But I rode all the way to the slope and let the pony free without even a word. She ran to a herd of ponies who politely greeted her. I turned Stormy around, but as I did I felt weak and I fell off of him onto the cold muddy ground. The cold rain fell gently on my face. My loyal horse Stormy stayed by my side the whole time I was out cold. I was awoken by the sound of hooves, and voices. I opened my foggy eyes and looked up at my mom.
The sky was menacing and dark. The rain now fell in torrents, and I was in a tank top and shorts. I tried to sit up but the excruciating pain in my beaten chest was too much to bare! I fell back down on my back and winced in pain as my Aunt pressed her fingers on my chest. "Oh no." She mumbled. "She might have a few broken ribs." "No.." I choked out trying to sound normal. "I'm..Fine." I mumbled. Everything started to go black. as if it was a picture burning in a fire. My hands felt cold and numb.
All thoughts left my mind as I passed out. I was in complete darkness.

"Rayna! Rayna!" I heard. The voices were distant and worried. I looked around but only saw darkness. But wait! What was that? There! A small speck of light began to peek through filtering the darkness. I opened my eyes to see large blurry shapes. One of which was a very large black horse. Stormy! He was okay.
My vision finally cleared up and I could sit up. My aunt, Grandmother, and Mom were crowding around me brushing my face and showering me with hugs and kisses. "Oh She's okay!" My grandma exclaimed. I looked around then recognizing were I was and what had happened.
"Whe-Wha-Ho-Whe-" I stuttered. "Shh." My Mom said kissing my forehead. She picked me up and set me on Stormy, then sat behind me. "Lets go home and call the doctor." My mom said as she snapped the reigns Stormy trotted off followed by my aunt my grandma and my mom's horse Rachael.
I vaguely even remembered how I had fallen on the ground in the first place, but I was glad to be home. My mom rushed me inside and lay me down on the couch. Then within minutes of getting off of the phone, the doctor arrived. Once again, I passed out.
After weeks of none stop sleep I finally awoke feeling better than ever. My cousin Gina quickly rushed over to me and exclaimed. "YOU'RE AWAKE! MOM AUNT ERIN GRANDMA! SHE'S AWAKE!!!" And quickly my Aunt grandma and mom rushed to my side.
After dressing up and eating, I raced outside and tacked up Stormy. It was kind of hard to mount him and stay balanced but I managed. Every day after that I would ride Stormy for hours until one day Stormy began acting strange. He began standing all stretched out, repeatedly curling his upper lip, pawing the ground, and kicking at his abdomen.
The vet said that he had Impaction colic. A disease formed when the intestine becomes blocked by a firm mass of food. After Rayna found this out she cried for day and weeks. The vet shipped poor Stormy out to an animal hospital and kept him there for months. Would Stormy ever come home? His case just kept getting worse and worse!

That day... That wonderful, beautiful, sunny, spring day.. The day Stormy came home... Was my best day on earth.
I ran at him and wrapped my warm pale arms around his shiny smooth neck. He indeed was a new horse. He smelled nice and he had regained all his balance. My ribs her fully healed and so was my spirit. I was a new girl...
I had changed that day Stormy came home. After 1 and a half years at the vet, Stormy was fully recovered. I had to wait a week of course before riding him. But he rode smoothly and he trusted me more than ever! It's as if an angel had healed his soul..Well Stormy grew up, as did I.
I had to stop riding him because I grew out of that beautiful 15.2 HH Stallion, but we kept him in the pasture where we would spend all of our time showering him with praise and complements. He indeed was a lucky horse.
After we had gotten our new horse Tilly, Her and him had created a bond! You should see how cute their little Filly, Stepping Stones was! Stormy was A loyal, trusting, strong, lucky, stallion who fought through the hard times! Stormy was the best horse any girl could ask for!
