It was here. I tried to conceal my excitement by jumping up and down making small noises that resembled screaming. The trailer and truck pulled into the driveway, and my dad waved at me. I couldn't help it, I screamed. I could hear rustling around in the double wide equine trailer. My dad pulled the car to a stop, and walked over to the trailer.
He unlocked the doors and signaled somebody to come to him from the trailer. A tiny little foal with shaky legs and strong brave eyes stepped out. It skipped out of the trailer totally full of himself. He was showing off to the filly across the yard. He stood with his tail perched high, and his neck raised a little too high. As soon as he stepped on the sweet grass, he spread his legs apart and nibbled graciously. "Ain't he a beauty?" Asked my dad stroking his neck. The foal was a dark chestnut with 3 socks and a blaze down his face. He had one white spot on his rump, just above his flank. His mane and tail were a smoky gray, and tiny white specks fluttered across his face. His eye lashes were to die for. And he was all mine! I decided to call him Pride. For all the pride he showed for himself.
Look for part 2! I have to go to bed now!

As soon as he stepped on the sweet grass, he spread his legs apart and nibbled graciously. "Ain't he a beauty? He's an Arabian." commented my dad stroking his neck. 6 years later
The cool wind stung my chapped face as we soared through the meadow. "Faster Boy! Let's go!" I cried leaning close to His neck to avoid the treacherous wind. "Ya you better run! If I ever see your horse in my fields again, he'll be a dead man!" The man yelled as he slammed the door. We continued to run until we made sure he was inside. Then we stopped, although Pride still seemed a bit edgy. Tears streamed down my face. Nobody was going to get my horse.
I was suddenly flung from my seat, and my hands were yanked from the reigns. A strong hand clasped over my mouth, and I was bound by itchy rope. I was pulled from the safety of my horse and hoisted over the shoulder of somebody. "SAVE ME!" I thought as I kicked and punched. "Hey, knock it off." a man's voice echoed through the night like a piercing sword. I watched in terror as Pride reared and bucked and whinnied. "Call it off!" The man groaned as one of Pride's powerful hooves struck him in the back just inches from my face. "Mmhmmnmnmhmm!" I cried. My words were muffled out by the duck tape that was then torn from my face. "PRIDE HELP!" I screamed. A sweaty hand was thrown onto my face once again, I could not speak. The man grabbed Pride's mane and shoved a note into the side of the bridle onto Pride's Throat Lash. Then the man smacked him on his rump, and Pride flew homeward. Tears streamed down my face as I watched my only chance of survival desert me. The hand drew away from my face as I bit it. "Let me go!" I exclaimed punching the man in his neck. "Not until I get the money! I'm not going to hurt you kid. I just want the money!" The man grumbled. "My family is broke! We can hardly afford Pride! You greedy kidnapper!" I cried biting into the man's shoulder. "Oww!" Cried the man. He hoisted me off his shoulder and held me under his arm. "Yuck." I thought.
(Me) I awoke to a horrible chill that sent goose bumps crawling along my skin.I sat up, but a horrible throbbing in my head sent me back down. I looked around as my eyes adjusted to my dark surroundings. "Hello?" I asked as I saw movement in the corner. "You're up." the man's voice said. "Why does my head hurt?" I asked rubbing a large welt that seemed to have formed. "Your...uh...Horse came back and he...you know...jumped up, and I dropped you." The man said groggily. He must have just woken up. So Pride had tried to save me! "Where am I." I asked. "A cave. Now go to bed. You're going to need to rest. We have a long way to walk!" The man said launching a rock my way. It hit me hard in the chest, and it knocked the wind out of me. I coughed and cried,"What's the big idea!" "I said GO TO SLEEP!" The man yelled. "No!" I exclaimed. "I'm getting out of here!" Another large rock was launched my way,and it hit me square between my eyeballs. All of the sudden, I was falling. Falling on and on forever and ever. Never to reach ground. Then I was turning over and over, then darkness.
(Pride) I galloped home to get the folks for help. I could feel my muscle tense up as I became weary form the long run. "Clarity!" I called shifting to a trot. A figure in all white appeared in front of me. The girl's white hair flowed behind her like snow.. And those eyes, yes those ocean blue eyes. Enchanting. "I hear you Pride my love. You say the bad man captured your girl and put this note in your halter? I must read it! Oh dear! They shall not give her up unless a ransom of 2 thousand dollars is obtained! Run go tell her parents! I will see if I can find them. They have gone that way you say? Yes they have! Good job My love!" The voice echoed in my head like a stream. Gold and crisp. I did as she said and galloped home. After reaching the front door, I whinnied and reared. It flung open and Martha grabbed my halter. She gasped as she read the note. She ran inside and after a lot of loud voices, they read it aloud. "I have your girl. Give me $2,000 or else you will never see her again! If you call the police, we kill her. If you come looking we kill her. You will meet us in one week at the old church house on Horseshoe path.Have the money ready! Got it?" The girl's father looked at the note and crumpled it up. He looked up at the sky and said quietly,"We'll save you Morgan. I promise."
