CHAPTER ONE:
"Anna you have to pack soon! Camp begins in two days!" my mother said as she kissed me good night. Yeah, maybe i am 11 and my mom still kisses me goodnight big deal!
I slid under the warmth of my blankets hugging close my stuffed horses named peaches that my best friend gave me when i moved to Wyoming. That was when i was four so peaches is pretty battered up.
I let out a small squeal of excitement. This was my first time at an all-week summer camp and let alone there was horses!
I popped my head to grab my book of horses but little did i know my mother was walking past my room and saw my little master plan. " Annalise May Westlyn!" I really hate it when she says my full name.
"Put that book down!" she pointed to the book shelf. I set it down and snuggled into my blankets once again. I didn't fall asleep at least until 12 midnight. I was sneaking around, grabbing clothes to pack and other stuff I needed.
My long brunette hair kept sweeping into my face and I kept tucking it behind my ears until I just put it in a sloppy ponytail.
After my suit case was packed, I snagged my laptop to look at my old pictures of Holly my welsh pony mare that was struck by a car last year. I miss her with all my heart and i want her back with me.
I got what I wanted but not what I needed when Zip my appaloosa gelding showed up. He was what i wanted (a horse) but not what i needed (he was unbroken and high strung). I love Zip but he is so much work. But i wont give up on him. At least not now.

CHAPTER TWO:
"Wake up sleepy today your dad and I have a surprise for you!" my mother had a big grin on her make-up covered face. I groaned and put out my arms for my mother to pull me up.
I stomped into the kitchen grabbing some cereal and milk. I tried to act normal because i knew my sister would come shout "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" in my face. yes i was turning 12 today and i was excited for my parents surprise but not my sister's loud awakening squeal.
"Honey, first off, happy birthday and second off, hurry up and eat because your surprise is going to blow your mind. that made me slurp down my cereal and throw on some jeans a blue tee-shirt and my boots.
" Come this way." my dad said covering my eyes and leading me to the back yard.
he took his hand off my eyes just in time for me to scream my lungs out!
they had got me the Arabian mare i dreamed of having! her name is: Morning Surprise and they even got me a new bridle for her. She was pregnant too! she stood there with a purple bareback pad on her back and her new bit-less bridle with draw reins.
i had wide eyes and i think i was doing a bit of drooling. i ran and hugged my parents.
they nodded to me. i stepped on the stool and climbed on my new horse. it felt like i was in a fantasy. mom let go and let me ride my mare in the pasture.
then dad said they had to sell zip to pay off Morning's sales bill. i did cry but i knew Morning Surprise was a better match for me.
then it happened Molly my sister ran up to me and did what she always did on my birthdays. " HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNA!" smack in my
face. i wiped her spit from my eye and put on a smile. " thank you Molly." i was a little flustered but i let off my steam when i walked to Morning's stall and stroked her long forelock. she had a perfect star on her strawberry roan forehead.
i couldn't wait to bring to her to camp the next day. River Riders Horse Camp would be a pregnant mare's safe haven. Well so i thought.
but i was wrong..completely wrong....
wait for chapter three!
