Horse Poem: We Are One

A poem I wrote about me and my horse...

We are one
We are one as we gallop on
We are one as we move swiftly on
Our hearts began to beat as one
Beat as one as we move quickly along
The rest of the world fades away
With the rest of my problems from that day
My breath slows down to mirror his
I move to the rhythm of his hooves
We are one as we gallop on
Together, forever, as one
Me & my horse
My horse & me
We are one
One as we gallop on

Gallop horse poem

by Danielle
(NSW australia)

Okay. I wrote this myself. so.

His hooves ae rolling thunder,
Striking the ground,
sinking down,
leaving lucky prints far behind,
His tail is a whip,
Propelling him forwards,
His legs are enraged,
The wheels to the rest of the V8 engine,
His hearts pounds,
His lungs expand,
sending sparks out his nose,
his doornob eyes determined,
His ears set forwards,
ready to attack,
His mane is a sheild,
protecting me from the winds that fight against us,
He speeds up,
which excites him more,
I close my eyes,
And we fly.

Hope you liked it :P

Horse Poems

(Surprise, AZ)

Just random free verse poems ^^ Critic is encouraged!

'Tis not merely the velvety feel
to the glossy coat.
Nor is it the deep round eyes
that overlook the skin and peer
right into the soul.
'Tis not the silky mane that flutters
in the gentle breeze,
nor the powerful hooves that eat up the ground
with each angelic stride.
No, it is not the physical traits
that make up the earthly beauties.
But rather, the spiritual qualities.
The heart.
The soul, spirit, energy, loyalty, power, respect, pride.
Those are what represent the true beauty of the equine.

It is not the hunk of leather called a saddle
that rests upon the creature's back.
Nor is it the metal that clanks within it's gentle mouth.
It is not the tall, expensive boots,
nor the helmet.
No.
It is the bond, the trust, the connection,
that represent the beauty of horseback riding.

Take flight,
upon the back of the horse,
who will carry you into eternity.
Take flight,
upon the spirit of the wild,
that runs along side the creature.
Take flight,
and let your spirit
mingle with that of the beast.
Take flight,
and share infinity,
on the back of the horse.

Somewhere in time's own space. There must be some sweet pastured place. Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow. Some paradise where horses go, For by the love that guides my pen I know great horses live again.

:] first poem
by: Lucinda

Well, this is my first poem, it's about a person riding a horse (mare lol) xD
It's called
Land Of Horse
yeah title sucks but, oh well :]

She gallops along under me
The wind blowing my hair back
Oh it has been so long.
To feel the breeze to ride the horse
How I dream how I felt
I loved her, of course
With the snow melt
On my skin
Her mane whipping my chin
Her hooves thudding the ground
As we whirl around
How her tail whips
The strings turning to strips
Oh moments like these are rare
My helmet shifts
The gorse biting me
But I don’t care
as we drift
To our land of horse

Hi Rayna
by: Unicorn

I'm not much of a poet, so I'm afraid I can't offer critique, but I will say that I love free verse (ever read E. E. Cummings?) and I loved these poems, especially the last one. "Angelic stride" also resonated with me. Thanks for sharing.
