Christian Equestrian Center

I had this great idea to start a christian Riding Center. Where girls could share their faith and love for horses. Girls would only be required to wear polo shirts, helmets, boots and instead of tight riding breeches could wear white cullotes to match their show outfits.

That way the girls could look equestrian and still be modest. There are lots of christian girls who would like to ride but can't because of required pants. My dad owns his own business and would finance the whole thing.

Christian horselovers please tell me what you think!

Jamie, I do see your point.
I don't think it's wrong to wear cullotes when riding. I wear Cullotes to Riding Lessons every time. I would wear breeches to show but my parents would absolutely never allow it. A lot of horsey girls will never reach their dream of showing because they can't wear pants. I would like to have a place where we could host our own shows that way we could wear cullotes and place of pants. This center would also be a ministry to reach lost Kids with the Gospel.

I think a Christian Riding Center would be pretty cool but I do not agree with your idea of riding pants... Riders are required to wear breeches so that there instructor can see what form your legs are and can actually help you. You also HAVE TO HAVE breeches to show. Breeches are comfortable to ride in and they don't have ANYTHING to do with modesty. In the bible they do talk about modesty but say nothing about not wearing breeches to ride. The Lord does understand about the required pants to wear while riding...

I really disagree with marie, I do see the practicality of riding breeches but there is nothing wrong with girls wanting to be modest when riding. I would like to have a horse center where we could host our own shows where girls could be modest and still pursue their horsey dream. I find it hard to believe your a christian when you slam girls for wanting to dress modestly and not be a stumbling block. The bible does say in 1Ti 2:9
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel. Me and my friends all were cullotes and ride and the judges gave my friends permission to were white cullotes in place of pants to show and they have placed 1st & 2st place. I am not going to allow critical people with discouraging comments to keep from doing what is right. The center will also be a place to teach kids about God and help them have closer relations with him.

That is awsome! I have never ridden english but it looks and sounds cool. I live in Colorado so it's kind of obvious that I do Western. BTW My parents say that if I save up I can get my own horse!!!:)

I can't show because of the clothing, so that sounds like a great idea. I live in Michigan though.

to Marie: (your comment) In the King James Bible, in Deauteronomy 22:5, it says "The woman shall not wear that which pertinent unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God." I just wanted to share that verse with you. :D

Great Idea! Wish I could go. But I live in Eureka CA. :( me and my friend love horses! But because of the $ we can't get one of our own. But we are starting riding lessons, I wish it was at your place. In Jesus name It works out!

hey i'd love to go, but see I live in Kansas and I was gonna go to nebraska with a church here in town but when the councillor was being mean to my mom she took me out because she doesn't want me to go with him for not being christian like.

I teach Sunday school and frankly, riding breeches were invented because of practicality! You can't show in anything but snug breeches and it's not even a matter of modesty. Nowhere in the Bible does it say anything against long snug pants. This is just extreme, if you can't handle what the sport requires, then don't do it. This is the kind of thing that scares people away from God!

Thank you so much for supporting my idea!! All girls would be required to wear a slightly loose culottes. The culottes can be purchased at a mall and cost about 10.00. I am not allowed to wear any type of pants and my Dad would never allow it. Sorry! There is also a great church ten minutes from the location, Old Paths Bible Baptist Church. it is a great place and has lots of great people. These are future plans well I will keep praying and heading in the direction to start the center. Well keep praying with me for this to happen and work out. Until then thanks so much for supporting me! It's great to know there is girls out there who likes.

I LOVE the idea! I am a strong Christian (in fact my mom is a pastor!!!) but, I do ride in jods and I don't see why we couldn't wear them. I also sometimes ride in jeans too. How would they show? I think this is a GREAT idea!

Love it, I am a christian horse lover as well. When My mom saw the price for breeches she freaked! this idea is so cool. here's another idea they could have devotions every morning before they ride!=D

LOVE the idea! I dress modestly, my mother was almost not going to let me ride English because of the breeches! I though ride in not tight jeans. I would defiantly think about attending there if you ever made it!!

Oh YES!! I love both the Lord and horses, and also love the idea of a Christian horse facility - in fact one day I hope to run one myself. Dress code aside, I would love to teach the Gospel alongside riding, and strive to do so when I teach my informal lessons. Evolution is taught - in my experience - in the majority of riding schools instead of God's wonderful creation.

P. S. Would wearing jeans instead of the breeches work? I ride in jeans and in my experience they work better than jodhpurs.
