TIPS FOR RIDING AND TRAINING YOUR HORSE !!!

Hello. I love horses LOADS!
My list of best things ever-
1. Horses
2. Riding Horses
3. Watching Horses
4. Caring for horses
5. Reading about horses
6. Horse magazines
7. Owning a horse
8. Did I already mention horses?

So now i think you have got the gist and nub of my point. I certainly have. Ok, before I start talking complete and utter rubbish, i'll start.

INTRODUCING THE HORSE
Generous, willing and patient, horses have served people well for a long time. We have ridden them, driven them, used them to pull heavy weights and fought battles from their backs. Immensely strong, yet very gentle, they look to us humans for leadership. Now we use horses and ponies mainly for pleasure. And we owe it to them to learn as much as we can about them, to try and treat them kindly and understand them properly.

BEFORE ANYTHING, REMEMBER TO...
Get to know your horse, or the one at your ridong school that you ride. Aproach them with confidence and talk to him in a friendly way. Handle him quietly and firmly.

HOW TO LEAD A PONY CORRECTLY
You lead a pony on his left side. Hold the lead rope or the reins in your right hand by your ponies head and take the other end in your left hand. Walk forwards in a positive way, without looking back at him.

TIPS FOR HANDLING HORSES AND PONIES

Speak to a horse or pony in a calm and friendly way as you approach him.
Approach towards his shoulder from the front where he can see you.
Never shout, rush about or make sudden movements near horses and ponies, but this doesn't mean you have to walk veeeeerrrrry slowly like a zombie otherwise they'll probably thing your crazy!
Be gentle but firm when you handle horses or ponies
Try to follow the same routine around the stable and with the horse every day.

IF YOUR HORSE DOESN'T LISTEN TO YOUR COMMANDS WHEN YOUR RIDING...
some ponies ignore their riders aids. Riders do not always give stong enough aids for their ponies, which then plod along sleepily with their noses stuck out. Applying the legs more strongly and shortening the reins will improve the ponies paces.
