That is a sad story, but i've heard worse. These days, people don't put themselves in other people/animal's shoes. Not to sound horrid but I believe that man deserves to be dragged behind a trailer and shot in the head. That man deserves to be sent to prison. Hopefully that man understands what he did and is ashamed of himself. If I did anything like that (which I wouldn't, being a vet wannabe) i would most certain report myself, and hopefully be sent to prison. What that man did is scary (oh I can tell you, i certainly have many names for these people) and i hope none of our young ones do anything such as this in the future. HELP ABUSED ANIMALS!!

This is so sad, as usual ignorant people continue to hurt animals when all they want is love. This person should have gone to jail. There's sometimes no voice or justice for our animals!!

This story is so terrible that it is almost unbelievable. I am truly and utterly horrified by that brutal man's sickening treatment of this poor mare! This page saddened me as much as a story of a puppy mill that was recently discovered by a friend of my best friend's mom. That best friend is actually on this site; her name is MacKenzie, but she goes by Kenzie. I plan to run a shelter for any abused or abandoned animals, especially horses, someday, so I hope to do my part in at least reducing horse abuse.

Yes, it's such a sad story, I can't believe it's true. What that man did was totally disgusting! How could you treat an innocent animal like that? I must say the mare must have been very strong to live through all that torture. Hope she is a lot better now. Do you know her personally by any chance?
