Me Doing Dressage on Nickers when I was 8.
I started taking lessons when I was 7 on a pinto pony named Angel with a girl named Rachel. I rode Angel untill I got to move up to a more advanced horse, named Nickers. Nickers is smaller but he is a tiny bit more challenging. He is a Shetland/Quater Horse mix....his color is paint. On him I learned to walk and trot...and also jump over a little cross pole! Later on my instucter moved to a new barn. There I learned to canter and jump a 1 foot straight across on Nickers. I mainly rode Nickers but tried out a welsh pony named Benny. After 3 months of riding Angel and a year of riding Nickers I tried a horse named Sebastian, a bay Quater Horse. But I guess I wasn't advanced enough because I couldn't even get him to trot!! So I stuck to Nickers. After a year and a half my instucter moved again to a very beautiful and big farm. There I still ride Nickers to this day. The other day I rode Sebastian again and he was great! Very smooth and easy going. I also enterd my first Horse Show 2 weeks ago and got fourth place!! I was riding Nickers in a jumping class. I am also entering another Horse Show this coming weekend. I can walk, trot, canter, and jump 2.9! I have been riding for three years and I am almost 11.
