Its okay!
by: Mary Ashley

It's okay! It's not your fault. I've ridden horses like that. And usually, you just need to give them a big kick with your heels. Try not to lift the reins too high and keep your hands close together.

Good luck!

My Trainer
by: Violet

When my horse trainer (who teaches me how to ride), rides with split reins, she hits the horse a little bit with the end of them. I hope this helps!

Spurs and crop
by: Eventing Star

I know you said that you wouldn't use spurs or a crop... BINGO!!! That's the problem! Sorry to say! The thing is you need to show her who's boss. You aren't doing this enough. I did this with my pony and now are I have to do is make a clicking sound and she will go! If you think she wont be your friend any more that's wrong! Horses like someone they can look up to and protect them. Your bond will be better if you do this! You need to show them you CAN protect them! Be the boss!!!! You are just taking over the role of the herd leader when you do this! Just like when a horse bites or kicks hit them! This is what they do in the herd! Hope this helps! Sorry if I sound mean I don't mean to just want to help.

Go
by: Kahlan

You can make her go by making a noise when puckering
your lips, and by gently kicking her on the barrel
Softly with both feet.

hello.

Ride her in a pen with another horse that gets along with your horse.

Horses are herd animals so your horse will be tempted to follow the other horse.

Age Matters
by: Anonymous

The use of a crop of spurs could be effective, but be sure to consider the age of your horse before determining the outcome that is physically possible from her. If she's older, you can't expect lightning speed from her. Good luck!

well you could use a crop or a whip and maybe get someone to lead you for a while before u start trying to trot and stuff and use good hard kicks.

What about this?
by: sweetie22

How about this......
What about something like a whip don't do it so hard but don't do it so lightly either, you can either use a hand whip or a smaller stick.

Try This
by: kylie

Do you no why she won't go? there might be a reason. Try finding out what that reason is and then try asking her again. I agree you may need to show who's boss...but maybe she needs to trust u more try gaining her trust but make sure she knows you're the Alpha.
