Home At Last

These people call me names
hit me
Don't feed me
And I give them rides and
Love
I don't call them names
I don't hit them
I don't starve them
I slave for them

When I was a filly
I had no fun
I was in a stall that I couldn't move in
and if I tried to talk
They shocked me with a zapper
They shoved me
They put a heavy thing called a
Saddle
On my back

They forced a metal thing in my mouth called a
Bit
They put the heaviest person they could find On
My back
And whipped me till I walked
They put me through the worst
Yet they were in paradise
As I walked
And walked
And walked

BANG
I don't remember anything the day I fell
Except for this
“That horse is a wimp, she can't handle anything”
“You are working this horse too hard and that is cruel, I am going to call the police”
That was a voice I never heard but it was so
Soft
Kind
Loving
I have waited every day of my life to hear a voice like that
Wow
That is the owner I have been waiting for
Will he want me
Will he love me
Will he treat me right
I don't know but I hope he will
want me
love me
treat me right
I hope
I can only hope
For now

I wake up
WHAT ARE YOU DOING
What is that
I thrash then I remember
That horse in the stall
They put a harness on her
A thing sputtered then
ROAR
It lifted her
Up
Up
Up
Then the people backed up a truck
To her
Then
She went
Down
Down
Down

HUM
The truck rumbled away
HUH
They have the truck right in front of me
I remember the day after that mare left
My master was yelling
“GET THAT HORSE FROM THE ASPCA NOW!”
ASPCA that sounds nice
Will I see that mare at the ASPCA
I hope

Who are you
What are you doing
“Hey take it easy with her she is sweet but she is hurt and we don't want to hurt her more”
That voice
I know you
I love you
“What's up girl what's bothering you?”
I LOVE YOU
DON’T YOU UNDERSTAND

“Sir that horse has bonded with you”
That voice
I
I
I
HATE IT
I thrash
I try to kick the source of the sound
It is no use
It just hurts

“I do have an extra stall at my ranch! Want a new home girl?”
YES
YES
YES
“Load her up boys we got a new member of the McPars!”
McPar
I LOVE IT
“What should I call her?”
“GOT IT! Snicker!”
“Because she just tried to eat my snickers bar!”

P.S. Snickers are my favourite!

Sincerely
Snickers
(The horse)

Could you make a story Hoofbeat Quests style?
by: Anonymous

I just LOVE the Hoofbeat Quests series, and I LOVE your creativity, so I was wondering, could you make a story kind of like the Hoofbeat Quests? If so, that'd be AWESOME!!! Go on Amazon.com for a full sample of the book, but here's the first tidbit of the book that you can also find on Amazon as a sample:

Chester awoke to the shriek of a very familiar voice. The voice belonged to Shining Star, his very best friend. Chester galloped toward the sound of the shriek, his heart pounding in his chest. The shriek died out, and Chester found himself lost in darkness. Just the night before, he and Shining Star had been playing in the meadow of their herd, Herd Silver Moon, named after Shining Star's great-great-great-great-great-granddame, the legendary mare who first founded the herd. Chester stopped in his tracks. He had to find Shining Star. What could have happened? Chester whirled around. "Shining Star!" he cried over and over. He got no response. Chester stepped slowly toward the slightest sound he heard: rasping breath. The breathing stopped short. "Shining Star?" Chester crept towards the location where he heard the breathing. As he walked, he tripped over something. The smell of blood filled Chester's nostrils. The leg that had caused him to trip was covered in blood, but Chester could feel no pain. He squinted at his leg, trying to study the wound, but realized it wasn't his blood. Chester looked over the lump he'd tripped over and studied it. The lump was the shape of a horse, Chester could tell by the moonlight.Chester recognized the horse. It was Shining Star! Her beautiful, dappled gray coat was stained with blood. Chester couldn't see much, but he knew he needed help-now!

All this is from the first book of the Hoofbeat Quests, Hunted, written by Madelyn Grace.I own nothing from this, and all belongs to Madelyn, word for word. This is only the first smidgen of the first chapter, and for more check out the book on Amazon, and read a bit more of the first chapter. It would really make me happy if you wrote a story in this kind of forum. I love the Hoofbeat Quests, and know that you could write something sort of like it if you really tried. Thanks. :)
