For the love of a lesson horse
The first time I ever rode a horse was special. It wasn't your average bomb-proof pony who didn't scare or shy away from anything. He was more of an all-around horse. He's calm with the beginners but when a confident more experienced rider gets on his back, he is a spirited, stubborn little gelding.
I have been riding DJ, a bay quarter horse gelding for just around two years and I have never learned so much on a horse. He's been there for me every step of the way and our bond is so strong.
But instead of thinking about my lesson horse, think about a beloved lesson horse of your own. Was it your first lesson pony? A horse you met later on or just a horse you used to ride way back?
Tell me a little about a beloved lesson horse/pony in the comments!
