The Magical Day, part 1

It was a cool, late September day. I eagerly walked into the barn with my grooming kit, braiding tools, and my hair stuff.
It was early, around 9:00. The pony I was showing, Darrin, was in a beginner lesson. He is so safe, he is always used in beginner lessons.
"Okay, so we have about half an hour before the other girl comes to tack up Darrin for the lesson, and we can hurry and do the braids in between then." Mom said, taking a swig out of her water bottle.
Darrin wasn't my pony, he was a school pony, but I loved him, and he loved me. I rode him almost every week. We went to watch him in the arena.
A little girl was trotting around and around on the longe line, posting as high as she could. "Let's get that post a little lower, and tighten the reins a bit." Meagan, the instructor, smiled at the girl.
"Okay!" She called, beginning to post lower.
"That's it. Okay, lesson's over!" Meagan told the little girl.
She unclipped the longe line, and walked Darrin towards the middle of the arena where the girl dismounted, and led Darrin into the barn.
Mom had already talked with her Mom, so the girl didn't have to untack. "See you later, and good luck in your show!" The little girl called.
I brought Darrin out to the crossties, and Mom began to groom him.
Darrin doesn't like his ears touched, so Mom had to gain trust with him.
She carefully braided his mane, and the forelock. I smiled with the results.
And then, another girl came to ride him.
When she was done, the barn started filling up. I was so excited!
Tune in for part 2!
