Sky Lilly
Meet Sky Lilly, the first Akhal-Teke foal born in the state of Florida! Her proud mother is Paikhas (Almaz-Parikhan), and father Dolomite (Mamuk-Daugava).
My friend Dasha Cole is rescuing Akhal Tekes on her Akhal Teke Golden Sand farm. Sky Lilly was born on Feb 13, 2008 at around 5am. Her registered name will be translated into her native Turkmen language to follow the tradition of Akhal-Teke horses.
Akhal-Teke horses are a rare breed. There are only about 3500 of them in the entire world! They originated in Central Asia (now Turkmenistan) almost 4000 years ago and many nationalities can call them their home breed. It is believed that Alexander Makedonsky was riding the Akhal-Teke in his battles.
Sky Lilly is offered for sale. Proceeds from her sale will go into expenses for training and showing her father Dolomite and her mother Paikhas. Only through education and awareness campaign this 4000 year old breed will continue its existence for the future generations to enjoy.
She is sooooo adorable!!
