Riding Freedom

by Lauren
(California)

This book is AWESOME! It's about Charlotte Parkhurst and her journey that leads to being the first woman to vote! It's by Pam Munoz Ryan, and it takes place in the mid-1800s. When I read it, I cried a lot. Something interesting about this book is that it's based on a true story. This story is 134 pages of horse-themed historical
information!

OH MY GOSH! REALLY GOOD BOOK!
by: qtjuice

I already used this book for a book report, I agree, it is easier than what I normally read, but it's still good. I'm reading Paint the Wind now. It's also by Pam Munoz Ryan. It's about horses too. I like it a lot! After you read Riding Freedom read Paint the Wind. You'll love them both!

If you haven't read this book you need to read it now. It's so amazing I don't know how many times I read it, but once you pick it up you won't be able to stop reading it.

I love this book!
by: Windcall

I just loved this book! It was slightly easier than what I usually read, but I enjoyed it extensively. Like Sydney, I plan to use RIDING FREEDOM for a book report this year. I read this book in one day while I was guarding a duck nest (the ducklings had just hatched) at the Christian camp up the road (some of the kids that come to camp seem to enjoy messing with the duck, which simply invites her to bite them).

Syd's note: Answers are all correct again Windcall. You are in the running!

I read this book when I was in 1st grade! I loved it! I told my mom about it when I was done reading for the day. (That doesn't mean I told her about it when I was done reading it), I read it cover to cover! It was great!

Absolutely awesome!!! Love it!
by: hcg Syney

This is such a great book...I am sooooo glad you told me about it. My mom and I read it together. We started it one night and finished it the next day. We couldn't put it down.

It is such a cool story, and the fact that is based on her TRUE life is amazing. If you think about it, horses really save her life. She also proved that girls can do anything if they put their mind to it.

I won't give it away, but this is one you have to read. I'll probably do a book report about it in school too.
