My true horse story

by Kayla
(U.S.A)

My story is a little long, but it's true and I really hope you like it!

When I am out riding my horse Madison I feel like I'm free and independent and that nothing can get in my way of having a great time. Madison and I are somewhat connected, it feels like horses were meant for me.

Madison and I are the BEST of friends and I don't know what I would do without her. Every time I walk up to her she gives me a friendly hello huge. And it is soooooooooo funny when she tries to make me laugh.

ok ok ok ok i know its weired but Madison does stupid but funny things just to make me laugh and to see me smile. She cant stand it when I'm mad, she is an absolute angel, and she can make anyone laugh.

I guess i have to start from the beginning: how I met her, its kinda cool. She used to be a race horse "the best" to be exact. She won nearly $800,000 dollars in her racing years. Till one day the trainer was running her to hard for too long and her front leg shattered, and now she has a bow tendon. So the trainer was about to put her down until Armond my neighbor that is training me to be a jockey bought her, because he just couldn't see her be put down.

He brought her to his house, and one day I went to his house to ride jack "one of his horses" and Madison kept looking at me in a funny way, and every time I would turn the other way she would neigh and run around to get my attention. And then Armond asked me if i wanted to ride her, he went to go get her out of the pasture, but he couldn't catch her, so i went to go get her and she walked right up to me.

When i was putting the saddle on her she was so exited, i jumped up in the saddle and i felt like I was on a mountain. She obeyed all of my commands and when I was done riding her I gave her a bath and brushed her off. But she wouldn't let Armond brush her, only me. So when i was on my way home Armond told me that since I am the only one she listens to then if I help him on the race horse farm, then he will give her to me for free.

I went every day to the farm and helped him, and her bow tendon is healing every fast. I think that me and Madison will be together for ever. We have a special connection and love for each other. She is a miracle that is just beginning, she has really brought my family together in many ways,

Her tendon has gotten toward where she will be able to run like she use to, and me having problems at school and everywhere else, she has really helped me get through those hard times, and through my times of need.

She has a special way of cheering me up. Its like she chose me to be her rider. She has given me a different image of horses, and their beauty. God put horses on this earth to make us happy and to have a best friend for life. i have given her a nick name that fits her perfectly, "SECOND CHANCE"

This story is sooooo cool! I would love to train to be a jockey, but I think I am going to be too tall (lol :-). A-way, Madison/Second Chance sounds like the best horse for you! I shared a special bond with a horse for a little over a year; her name was Reddy. If you want to read our story, please visit "Dreamer: Windcall's Page 5=Reddy."
