My Second Life- Tips and Info About Horse Isle

by GordyLuv

Game

I learned about Horse Isle from someone I know, and I really love it. I am addicted. The gameplay is very simple, and you play under a username. You make money by doing quests and selling horses or objects found in the woods, on the beach, or on the various Isles, such as Horse Isle, Bird Isle, Desert Isle, and many others.

Tips

1. I highly suggest talking to the horseshoe crab and the turtle on Welcome Isle when you first join, because you CANNOT go back.

2. When you find a quest, finish it as soon as possible. I cannot tell you how many quests I started and still are unfinished.

3. Save your money in the bank. Don't just buy object after object. There are many things to save for. And if you are aiming to buy the more coveted objects, like a ranch, Pegasus Tack, Icarus Tack, Hercules Tack, Glorious Tack, Jackrabbit Tack, Fireball Tack, Beautiful Tack, the Baby Dragon (Only one existing player has bought the Baby Dragon, the price being 5million dollars, or foals, try to save up alot of money, more than you need, before you buy the object. This way, your money will earn interest and grow.

4. Don't beg for items. It irritates people, and they will mute you. This is very frustrating, because you can still see their ads. Say someone mutes you, then later you want to buy a horse of theirs, or sell them one of yours. You have NO way to talk to them. Don't beg. This also applies for just plain being irritating.

5. Don't swear. There is a filter, and if you say certain things it will come out differently. 'Suck' is a good example, and it appears in your chat boxes as 'ingurgitate'. 'God' comes out 'unicorns', and 'poop' comes out manure. It also gets rid of annoying abbreviations for the sake of everyone listening, like 'btw', which is lengthened to 'by the way', and 'wtf' is filtered and lengthened to 'what the horse poo?'. You will also get flagged for swears, and don't say the word 'phone', because it will get you a flag, because the game thinks you are attempting to take someones phone number, which is strictly forbidden. You have points for violations, often called 'vios' among the players. DO NOT get 10 points, because your account will be reviewed and possibly deleted.

6. Collecting hay in Earton, or any other town at the local haystack is a very good way to earn money as a beginner, as well as collecting shells and gems along the beaches. You can also go to Jungle Isle and maybe find some parrots and geckos to sell. Collect grasshoppers also, and take them to Treeton. There is a woman there who collects them and will give you 100$ for one grasshopper. Another thing of that sort is Twig, who resides in Eartip forest, above Earton, who collects red pinecones. He will give you 1,000$ per pinecone.

7. There are categories for peoples horses. These are KEEPER, TRAINING, TRADING, and RETIRED. KEEPER horses are the ones that you hold most dear. Never offer on other people KEEPER horses unless you want to be muted. TRAINING horses are horses being trained, whether it being the players horses or horses they are training for a friend. Most people don't accept offers on these horses. TRADING horses are horses for sale. RETIRED horses are horses that the player doesn't use, but aren't for sale. Personally, I keep the horses that are named after horses that are boarded after my real life barn.

8. The most populated server is probably Pinto server, where I play. All the people there are really nice. They always are talking, so don't go there if you enjoy limited conversation (and arguments). We often get into arguments about Twilight, the Jonas Brother, ect..

9. Moderators, which are often called Mods by players, are the boss. Their chats come up green, and they are often very strict. Follow their rules, and you'll be OK. You cannot ask Joe and Miranda (the Horse Isle creators) to become a mod, and a mod cannot make you one. Also, no one likes a Mini-Mod (an obnoxious player that acts like a mod).

10. Administrators, or Admins, are the boss of the bosses. Their chat is red. Listen to them like you would a mod.

I am sorry for the rant, and I could probably list the entire rules page. I just really encourage every horse lover to join this game, because it is an amazing game. The gameplay is a 2D, but the horses are exceptional, and drawn by Jenny, who is a Mod, (see tip #9). Don't bug her when she comes on about drawing a new breed. She draws what she draws, and she does it beautifully. (My personal favorite of her horse breeds is the pinto American Mustang, of which I have the best of on my server, and the draft foal, Thanks so much to Jenny)

ALSO

I have the web address of a guide, which I try to keep secret, but I will post it on here so that new players can have access to it. Please try to keep knowledge of it secret, because there are many players that really don't need the help.

http://horseisleguide.tk/

This site will help with cookie cutters, ice sculptures, the fire flower maze, piano plays(hey there's 2 rhymes!), Non-Player Character paintings, and some tough quests.

Please join Pinto server, we always love new members!

Loved this guide! I have been banned a couple times but I actually gained weight after being banned so I had to join up again and I lost all my weight. Weird right?

BlackTwisterFoal (BANNED- That year subscription ends July 8, 2010 and that is when my all the way upgraded, nothing but windmills, ranch will disappear forever.)
