me-and-my-monki

I call him monki. He is supposed to be called mac, but i prefer monki. anyway, I was supposed to take my paint mare to a show in farvew and the last week of prep, she was lame. very lame. i had to take monki instead of Moonbeam.

We entered dressage and English Equitation. My trainer came along, too. She was coaching me, helping me along, and advising me. As we were bathing monki, his old owner came along!! She screamed "MAC!" and I jumped like 12 feet in the air!! haha!

His registered name is Snow Caps Blac Monki. That's why i call him Monki. He's a sweetheart. The old owner was just crying because she was so happy to see him. He reacted well to see her again.

I offered her to ride him after the show. She smiled at me and said "I'm sorry but I can't ride" I was surprised. And I felt sorry for her. She said "good luck" and monki and I did well (considering it was my first show and we were against a bunch of adults) in dressage, we got 4th out of five.

I was very happy and gave mac 3 treats. In equitation, we got 2nd out of 2 people. It was fun. My trainer forgot to tell me to shorten my stirrups, so I lost points. But, I was against my friend. Anyway. I gave monki 3 more treats, and apparently, he cant have treats. He bit me!

Anyway, the old owner told me that he asks for more treats by biting people. That's how he gets attention.

What a sweet story! Monki is the cutest name. I am glad his old owner got to see him too.
