This is an amazing story written by the same author who wrote the Misty of Chincoteague books. It is a beautiful and magical tale of Agba, a servant boy who goes on many adventures across the world with Sham, an Arabian Stallion. It reminds me of Black Beauty in the way that they go through many difficult times.

This is a beautiful story. I listened to it on tape and parts of it were hard to understand, but the story was so good I didn't care.

good thing
by: Markus Gabrella

There are a lot of legends and stories about such things in every corner of the world but people just know it as legends. The fun part is that most of them do not even know about the big picture that is going to surprise you.

Correction on the belief that this story is Man o War
by: Sally Hernandez

Sorry to have to let some of you know but, Man o War was the 15th grandson of the Godolphin Arabian Stallion "Sham"! He was 15 generations removed from the Godolphin Arabia, one of three Arab and Barb stallions considered to be the founders of the thoroughbred line.

Man o War was born in Kentucky not Morocco. You would have to read the history of Man o War and his pedigree to see where he fits in...

Wonderful book, I read it when I was 9 and at 62 it is still my favorite story. My granddaughter just read the book and is doing a report on Sham...

It was wonderful to pull the book out of my library and read it again. I have her other books as well.

This is a heartwarming story about a slave boy named Agba who falls in love with an arabian horse. They travel together through thick and thin, and the boy names the horse Sham. This is a great read for all horse lovers! It's by Margurite Henry, ( the author of the Misty books) The horse later grows up to become The Goldolphin Arabian, one of the ancestors of the thoroughbred. 5 stars!

King of the Wind
by: Lindsey

This movie is about an Arabian stallion and his groom an Arab boy who gets sent from Arabia to England.

With this journey, Agba (the Arab boy) saves Sham( the stallion) when he was born because he had a sign of bad luck and a sign of good luck.

And since Agba is a mute, he shows his master the name he wished to call the colt. Agba shows him the sun so that's how Sham got his name. Sham means the sun!

Wonderful Book!!
by: Sam

I love this book. As it says on the front cover, this is the story of the Godolphin Arabian ( not Man O' War {Sham was his Arabian name}), one of the foundation sires of the Thoroughbred. Great story! Marguerite Henry has produced many marvelous horse books, of which I am grateful.

GREAT!
by: Maddy

Its about an Arabian and a boy really likes him. The Arabian is abused and is sold or runaway from person to person and each person abuses him differently. finally the boy finds him again and returns to the stable. the Arabian wins a race that's why hes called king of the wind. when he returns to the stable again the Arabian meets this beautiful white Arabian mare and they live happily ever after. Takes place along time ago in Egypt i think.

Awesome!
by: Windcall

This book is awesome! I love all of Marguerite Henry's books, but this one is definitely my favorite! The drawings, by Wesley Dennis, are quite intricate and accurate, and portray the Godolphin Arabian beautifully. I hope to use this for a book report!
