Horse Help Please!

Skippy (brown) and Maveric (gray)

Skippy (brown) and Maveric (gray)

I don't know where to put this on this website and am having SO MUCH trouble with this problem...
Well...

My dad met a customer willing to give me one of his horses. They are both Appy males.

One is gray (near his rear it becomes really white) with black spots. I fell in love with him at first site. But some things have made me glance at the other. Apparently, MAVERIC, the gray with black spots, is old. 18. I hear it's a good enough age for a beginner rider, but... I'm not sure. He's such a sweetie, but his owner says he's very slow paced. And then he looked at SKIPPY. Skippy is the brown with white on his rear. I believe this is called a blanket? Right? Well, anyways, he said Skippy was only about 8ish amd is very fast paced. He's slow to get along with, but loves to run. Reason is because he's never been fully trained! Both Maveric and Skippy have been trained, but Maveric has more experience than Skippy. Trained in Western, I JUST switched to English.

Also, Maveric has gone to 3 shows and won 1st in all of them.

Sorry if this is mixed up but... I'm TRYING to not make it long!

P.S. I could sell them and then get a jump horse.
P.S.S. I ride English (as I said before) and do you think it'd be hard to train Western (for Maveric, since he's old) or what???

This is a huge decision, and the horses are coming soon. PLEASE help!!!

*watch a video of them, NO this is not my usual type of video, but still a video*
