I've been riding for about 2 years now. After about 1 and a half years, i had a fall, and lost a lot of confidence. Does anyone have any tips to help me get back to my normal confidence?
Hi I know how you feel i fell of mt thoroughbred once and became terrified to get on but i started by being with her on the ground but after a while i got on her and just walked and then my dad put me on the lunge line at trot and canter and after a while i got my confidence back! Hope that helps!

Start again by: Melaina-Joy
Because i rescued my two horses they have had me on the floor so many times i have lost count! :L
the first few times i ever fell off my cousins shetland minty (before i got my own) i refused to get back on because i was sacred out of my life! but my cousin always used to say: Tell minty you trust him, ill stick you on the lunge and you'll soon be begging to jump the house!
I listened to her and every fall i took slowly got easier :)
Just tell your pony you trust him (and mean it) then maybe ask for a lunge lesson, that way your not the only one in control of your pony and you can work on balance as well :) x

Me too! by: Katrina
I fell of over a jump and I sprained a muscle in my back. I also lost a lot of confidence. Luckily I have a very nice instructor. I just told her I am a afraid to ride. I just walked and trotted a bit. I am now jumping 75cm again. Just before I fell of the horse,Jeromey, ran away with me and i fell of.I am actually so glad I rides again!
God be with you! K

Help is here! by: fresian luvr
well if you have a bad fall it is best to say to yourself "it wont happen again" sometimes you can even tell your trainer to start you off at a walk and trot. when you get more confidence you can work yourself up and leave the past behind you. (i hope this works for you) GOOD LUCK!

My Fall by: Anonymous
I fell of my horse Target i lost heaps of confidence and i didnt trust him. But my instructor told me that everyone falls off its not the horses fault it happens all the time even with the experts. You cant stop a fall, that's why riding is a dangerous sport.
