Bad Jumping Day
Yesterday, I had a practice ride with the horse I lease, Rika. It was a jumping day, I had just expected her to refuse 1 jump as usual & be great the rest of the time, but that didn't happen. I jumped a few small crossrails & verticals perfectly. When it was time to jump a line, a small vertical to a 2'6 oxer, I thought she would jump it, but then without any warning she stopped right in front of the oxer. I wasn't ready for this so, I flew over her head & the jump. After that I was fine, just a little surprised, I got back on & jumped the line again & again until she did it without refusing. After that line I decided to try a 2'6 liverpool to a 2'6 oxer, at first she stopped in front of the liverpool & jumped it from a standstill & overjumped by about 1 foot. I did the liverpool again & she jumped it well & also jumped the oxer well. After that i tried a triple combination, a 2'6 vertical to a 2'9 vertical to a 2'9 oxer. At first, she refused the first jump in the combination, I did it again & she got over the jump but refused the second. After that, I decided to jump the liverpool to the oxer again to end the day on a good jump. That wasn't the best ride but it taught me alot, I'm a little sore from the fall but in my lesson I know what I need to do now.
