A Haunted Stable?!
When I was about seven I got really into horses and ghost stories. So when I had gone to a horse camp at my stable me and my five friends were sleeping in an empty horse stall. We had decided to tell ghost stories. My friend whose mom owned the stable said that her grandmother (who also runs the stable) had told her that the stable had been haunted. I was really curious to hear the story even though I doubted that it was really haunted. But I listened anyway.
My friend told me that the story took place almost 50 years ago when her grandmother had dreamed of owning the stable. She was 10 at the time and had worked for fun at the stable. She said that after the owners wife had divorced him he had given the stable to his 18 year old daughter who was her grandmothers BFF. That night her grandmother was sleeping over with the 18 year old daughter.
The owner had went to the barn late after all of the stable hands had left (the girls were up late watching him to see what he was doing). He went to the barn and six minutes later came through the barn doors, hopped on the horse and rode away. The girls never saw him the next morning. His horse returned but not him.
The daughter of the owner gave the stable to her best friend and went off to live her life.
The real scary part was that the stall of the horse had carried the owner that night had lived in the very stall that we were sleeping in. And as soon as the story ended a gentle nicker of a horse had came from nowhere almost as if the ghost horse was trying to tell us that we were safe and there was no such thing as ghosts. ;-) What will you believe?
